Can I ask why you use waterfilter when filling your fresh tank.
@@derekknight4214 I guess it's being overly cautious. Ontario Provincial Parks usually source their water from the municipal water in the area so it's perfectly safe for drinking. That's not always the case with private parks, state parks etc. We filter all the water going into our trailer to keep the plumbing system clean. We still don't usually drink that water, for drinking water we bring a 5 gallon jug from home. We use the trailer water for cooking, coffee, cleaning, showing etc. I know I can drink it if need be. Basically it's just to ensure a clean plumbing system.
Amazing video thank you god bless 🙏🏽
Just came back from Charleston Lake. I'm with Virgin, no reception at site, at fill station was able to text only and slightly better on mountain hikes. Sister is with Videotron, she had good service.
Hello! Love watching your videos! Just wondering if you could do a video on easy camping meals or meals you make while camping? We always have our go to meals but want to see what others do🙂
If you had the choice between Six mile lake, Oastler lake and Killbear park which one would you chose? Tent camping, two adults only for a few days. Thank you!
Killbear is beautiful 😍 great hikes and beautiful beaches. It’s a bigger park as well with a great visitor centre. Six mile is a small park and small beach.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the detailed review. From an avid "Ontario" follower who takes the advice (for purchases) from those 'in the field' before purchasing anything. Am gaining a much better insight into Prov Parks thanks to you guys! Booked Charleston for this week!
@@heatherelliott1051 Thanks. You'll love Charleston.
Thank you for the very detailed review Ben. I am impressed with the low power draw on this unit. I have a Koolatron cooler and it is not very efficient at all, as well it runs all the time and the fan makes an annoying humming sound. One question I have.....does this make any noise ? Especially if I wanted to have it in the backseat of the truck. One thing I have done is put a blanket on my regular coolers to assist in the insulation. Cheers and you two enjoy the summer.
When the compressor comes on I can hear a fan noise similar to the fan noise from our old Mobicool auto cooler. I wouldn't say it's a humming sound but more like the fan sound on a laptop computer. When the compressor turns off it's silent. The compressor is off a lot more than it's on, so it's silent most of the time.
@@CampingwiththeColes Thanks for the reply Ben. I used your code COLES26 it works perfect. I ordered the Aspen 40 cooler (26 percent off) and battery (25 percent off). What a great discount and the Bouge RV site has great security features for ordering. Off to Charleston Lake Provincial Park tomorrow. Yahoo.
Heading down to Pelee in September....Thanks for the info!
Thanks so much guys for a great review of these provincial parks. Headed to Arrow Head with my boys!!!
Have a blast!
I keep thanking you for these videos lol. I somehow stumbled on this video searching for spots around Hamilton to do some stand up paddle boarding.
We're so glad you're going through our catalogue of videos and finding them helpful.
Always love your videos! We're planning a PEI trip this September and have a couple of questions. How many days did you stay at the 3 PEI provincial parks? You didn't mention anything about the National Parks, did you visit them?
We stayed at Cedar Dunes for 3 nights. We originally planned on staying there for 7 nights but shortened it because we felt it was a little out of the way. We then did Cabot Beach for 4 nights and Brudenell for 7 nights. In part 2 of our 3 video series we visited PEI National Park, Greenwich Dunes but we didn't camp there. It was an amazing trip. We hope you enjoy your trip.
I got a new seal for mine, but when I went to take the old one out, I can't find it. Is it possible that the old seal went down the drain? There is nothing but the blade showing in the toilet. Mine is an Aqua Magic iV
I guess it's possible the seal broke and fell down into the black tank. If you feel around the rim with your gloved hand you should be able to feel some grooves where it would normally fit.
What do you guys do with your dog when your biking and kayaking? Serious question. I have a doodle too.
We sometimes leave him in the trailer. When we first got him we tested him with being left alone in the trailer. I put a camera in the trailer and left him alone while we were next door at our friend's campsite. I checked the footage and he just walked around a bit then laid down for a nap. We also had friends in neighbouring sites listen for him when we went away for short periods of time and he was quiet. We lucked out, and he's fine to be left alone in the trailer. If it's hot out, we put the air conditioner on for him but leave him for shorter periods of time, worried about the power going out for some reason. We always wear him about beforehand with a good walk or swim and give him a treat before we leave him alone.
@@CampingwiththeColes thank you
Was at this park last weekend. Could not believe how busy the beach was. I did barely find a spot to park as I had arrived well before my 2pm reservation and people were still on the site. Despite all the people I was able to put my new SUP in at the dog beach off to the side where there wasn't any crowding. First time paddle boarding had a blast. The campground was actually pretty nice and I put miles on my e-bike exploring around.
Yeah, when we went there it was the Canada weekend and it was crazy busy but it's a very nice park. Glad you had a great time.
Sorry if I missed it. We’re camping here. What site did you stay on? Thanks.
We were on site 202. Have a good time!
15:30 that's my buddy and my dog treat tent!! Nice to see the support of local businesses! If you ever come back, stop and say hi!
Excellent review. I tried to buy one online, but they only ship to the States. I was able to enter the discount code. Did anybody else try to do this?
Sorry about the confusion. It automatically goes to the US site. At the top right you can click for Canadian prices and it takes you to the Canadian site. I'm pretty sure shipping works there.
@CampingwiththeColes That worked. Thanks. I entered COLES26 but it said it could not find that code. It automatically gave me FS25 which is 25% discount though.
@@GrandpaD-mb2lm yeah, after I got your last message I tried to do it myself. I've contacted BougeRV to get a link directly to the Canadian site and to get the code working for the Canadian site. Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully I can get it straightened out quickly.
My wife and I booked a site at Rockwood based on this video. The park is 25 minutes from our house and 5 minutes from where we store our trailer. I'm here now as I write this. This park really is a gem. The kayaking is terrific. Thanks Ben and Cheryl!
Glad it worked out for ya. It's amazing what you can find in your own backyard.
I love your gear reviews I have a suggestion. Next season you should visit fushimi lake provincial park up north it is very cool there!
Very detailed. Each shot and edit really attract the audience just the way you do it. Ben, awesome thank you. Amazing.
What is that dohickey in the filling hose for?
That's our water filter on the filling hose amzn.to/3WvI2Jr
if you put your fridge in the back of your truck or in back seat like you did you can put blanket on it if your going to be hours
thats awesome 35 watts is very low usage pretty good great video
Terrific review, you never missed a thing. I am not surprised by that. The quality of your videos just gets better all the time and that is one great product. Not sure we need one but....
Thanks for watching. These are the types of videos that help pay the bills for us.
We have a bourgerv electric cooler too, but a different model. It can be a freezer or cooler. Works awesome and no more fooling with water and ice in the cooler. I have to set mine at 37F in order to not freeze our beverages!! Lol I have a smaller ecoflow solar generator that will run it fri to sun. These are great units. Good review. Love the deep freeze section in your unit.
I remember seeing your BougeRV fridge in your Class A, when you showed us around. We wanted one then and finally got one a year later.
@@CampingwiththeColes oh glad you remembered! This is our second year with it. Gets lots of use in the summer!
I have to be honest I was dissapointed that it wasn't a park review. But, because we love the Coles we watched. What a surprise! Very informative and honest review. Whoever the designer of this unit was knew their stuff, its perfect for campers! Right away we thought about those in tents, pop ups and non electric sites. You changed my mind Ben.....gear reviews are good also. 😉😊
@@ronarempel9081 hahaha, good. I'm glad you liked it. To be honest with you, gear reviews help us to do more camping videos because we make some money from them and that keeps us going.
@@CampingwiththeColesevery little bit helps. 😊
🥰🥰🥰
Are you allowed to keep the portable fridge out overnight or when you're not at your campsite? Unattended outside coolers aren't allowed at any of the provincial parks we stay at. Given the size of our camper fridge and the fact that it's normally only the 2 of us, we don't even bring out good cooler with us anymore, since we have to keep putting it away.
It depends on where you're camping and what you're keeping in it. In bear country or any time we are keeping food in it we keep the portable fridge in the back of our truck and run an extension cord out to it. In many of the southern Ontario parks it's ok to keep it outside if there isn't any food in. We usually just have our drinks in it. If a racoon opened it up, it would only find cans and bottles which wouldn't be of interest to it.
@CampingwiththeColes That must be the difference. We camp in northern Ontario, and bears know that a cooler holds food. And if they open it to find drinks, they will drink your beer and pop. They're like annoying camp moochers with sharp teeth and claws. If we ever get camping further south, we will remember to bring our cooler.
Yep, bears are smart and if they've ever gotten food from a cooler they'll always remember and check in coolers even if they're empty or not giving off a scent.

We recently purchased the Bouge 45 litre. We brought it to MacGregor Point last week and we used one side a freezer. (We camp in a pop-up, and keeping things cold for a week is always a challenge.) The Bouge was a game changer for us! We even packed ice cream bars and they stayed frozen the entire week! We are considering investing in the battery for our next trip.
Good to hear. It's a huge step up from our old autocooler.
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Especially the information on snakes. I had no idea that there were any venomous snakes in the area! I would not have known to look out for them when I go camping there this summer
Glad you liked it. We just made new plans to go back there in October and do an updated video. We're really looking forward to it.
You can get expansion batteries that work with AC200L like 2- B300 which you can have 6,144 wh or 2-B210 4,300 wh or 1- B230 2,048 wh. Bluetti sent AC200L and PV350 for free.
❤when are you going to Kettle Lake and Bon Echo provincial parks? That would be great!❤
❤great song people! Where did you find it?! Tired of the city lights, time to pack up...❤
That's "Honey Take My Hand" by Cody Francis. That was our opening theme song for seasons 4 and 5. We use a few Cody Francis songs in our videos. We get all our music from Epidemic Sound.
@CampingwiththeColes hydro power has been restored as of last week. All campsites

What do you do for a living

This is not sanctuary but prison cell with nothing in it so sad!
❤l really like your videos but you have stop showing all these campsites just pick the best to show and tell us overview of the rest, that is more then enough! I appreciate all your hard work in making these videos and looking forward to change for the better!❤ By the way did you do Bon Echo yet? Very interested and what about day use and campsite prices please?❤
We've gone back and forth over showing campsites. I know it's a boring part of the video. That's one of the reason we put in chapters. If you don't want to see them just skip to the next chapter. I wanted to show fewer campsites to keep the video moving but many people have told us that they like to see lots of sites because they are often better and much more up to date than what the parks website shows. We have tailored our videos a lot over the years based on peoples suggestions. We want to have the best videos out there for our viewers. You're the first to suggest fewer campsite shots. Here's a link to our Bon Echo video kzread.info/dash/bejne/lIitmY-yhLu_c84.html Thanks for your suggestions. We take them all into consideration. Happy camping!
I live in Niagara and have been camping with a trailer for a few years now. As someone who loves to drive and has done many road trips like you two, I couldn’t suggest using the 407 more. As others have said, the benefit of no traffic massively out weighs the cost. Online has a calculator to find out approx costs. Safe travels!
Thanks for the suggestion. I had a look at the online calculator and because my combination weighs over 5000kg I would have to pay the highest rate and have to have a transponder. Am I missing something? In practice do they actually rate it at a lower rate because it's an RV situation. I can't imagine paying the same rate as a tractor-trailer.
I was at the Steampunk Festival in Coldwater in 2016. It was really cool
@@1indusboy I wish we would have had the chance to see it when it was still happening.
what do electric sites mean?
Electric sites mean that there is access to electricity at your site. It is usually one 30 amp outlet meant for a travel trailer and two 20 amp outlets which are your standard household electrical outlets.
we did the cranberry tour last week. it was ok to do.
The memories are flooding back.
Thank you guys.
Looking forward to seeing your Awenda review
Our pleasure!
Could you please tell what is best time to see fall colors at Lake Superior? End of September or Mid October?
I don't know exactly when for Lake Superior. We often go to Algonquin Park for the end of September and the beginning of October for peak colours. I would guess that Lake Superior would be a couple weeks ahead of that since it is that much further north. I would think mid September. That's just a guess. We've never been up there for fall.
I am booked for this park July 27 at what appears to be the only non-electric site in Trails End Campground - 406
