Thanks brother. I went a different route and was able to dissect the clock spring harness from a donor vehicle and do a factory install with the connectors intact. However, I never would have gotten it all apart without your videos. Now my 2006 manual work truck has cruise and it only cost me $40 to pull the parts from a wreck.

Question:: since you bought the ac delco stalk,,, i noticed your stalk wire colors are different than the cheap one I bought,, do the stalk wire colors match the truck wire colors where you plugged your “harness into the block

Thanks so much for uploading this. This is the only vid i've found of a dbc cruise control install I take it the 4.3L 2005 will be the same process as a 5.3L 2002 since they're both dbc? edit: The cruise switch was made different 99-02 than it was 03-06 regardless of dbc/dbw. The 99-02 is $60 on amazon and has 3 pigtails coming out of it instead of 1. My 02 truck already has the cruise plug beside the brake booster

Great video. I was adding cruise control to my 2005 silverado and was having trouble pulling the connector apart. Unfortunately mine didn’t have the 4 pin plug already installed, so I just connected the 4 wires behind the big connector.

This is how the cruise is wired: Multi-function switch Truck/ C201 Blue B1 Grey/Black Black B10 Blue Pink B18 Brown Grey B32 Grey ACDelco D6299A GM Original Equipment Combination Switch was my choice, although there are cheaper options. Thanks for this tutorial. Giving the part number of the metri-pack connectors was crucial to my success! Thank you for the research, the Chevy dealer, and Alldata were no help. Ask for GT-280 Metri-pack connectors. The ones i got from Amazon did not work, so I went to the Chevy dealer. The parts guy was nice enough to get some out of the tool room for me--They are not in parts. Having the correct connectors is the key to this job. I could do it in an hour if I have the correct terminals. Having the correct crimpers and a release tool is a good idea too. The video shows how to manipulate the connector. Rostra tells you to disconnect the harness from the ECM, pull it into the cab, and solder to the wires behind C201. BELIEVE me, you do NOT have/want to do that. As you can see, Black and Blue wires are opposite which is counter intuitive. Pink is switched power--If you use B18 it is fused off of the fuse panel under cruise. To connect the wires, I had some smaller Metri-pack male terminals that worked with the Metri-pack female terminals after I removed them from the quad connector. I just put some shrink wrap to hold them together, and tyrapped them to the other wires. If I was to do this again, I would make the colors match instead of following the wiring diagram colors. Since it is an older truck, Autozone has the schematics for free. I tried to post a wiring diagram, but it does not work. Again, thanks for the videos. They made it seem like I know what I am doing!

What do you mean if you use b18 its fused off the fuse panel under cruise? I know where the cruise fuse is and connected a pink wire coming off b18 to the fuse while b18 was also plugged in to the bcm. I also connected pink wire to pink A2 power wire and neither work, at this point I'm thinking its the cheap chinese turn stalk, except everything else on it works but cruise. Its getting really frustrating as 4 wires shouldn't be this difficult!! Any help would be a life saver

@@rustyshackleford5058 I'm in the same boat, did you ever figure out what the issue was? I seem to have everything connected correctly but cruise does not work, it seems like it is not getting power, but like you, everything else on the stalk works (turn signals, wipers)
