Two pelicans and accidentally took the bait on my hi lo rig in the shallows of a beach in Alameda and the hooks got into their pouch and wing. I waded out to help them by grabbing their beaks and holding them, and was able to remove both hooks but let me tell you something: pelicans STINK something fierce. Imagine really really rotten fish entrails. 😩
