I drive ZX9R since 2008. Bike have 80000 km and still run like crazy, dont spend oil ... Really great bike... Love it so much....

the last muscle super bike after this bikes became tiny light and not comfortable for tall bikers like me 2,04m! it was rather a touring super sport bike fantastic for long trips at contrary with cbr900rr perhaps! zx9r 94 97 is my favorite bike of all time! i didn't mention the fat kawa sound produced by the carbs! the last of an empire! long live the queen!!

270 km/h top speed, para ser carburada es bastante, lo mas padre de esta moto es el torque que tiene, ahora una gsxr600 K6,K7 etc, r6r, zx6r, cbr600rr, dan exactamente esa velocidad tope, con FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM, POWER COMANDER con un buen trabajo de MAPEO y CABLEADO DE COMPETENCIA dan casi los 295km/h las 600 c.c, de todos modos esta ZX9 ES DE RESPETO!!!.

I've had my yzf1000 at 170 mph in 4th gear it has a yoshi exhaust aftermarket filter and yes rider has a lot to do with the bike, I smoked an r6 in a stock 240zx auto with only an aftermarket exhaust on the car come to Fl. and put money on it

Now you're talkin' brother ! My mate purchased a brand new ZXR-750 J when they were released at I recall how awesome that bike looked ! Those twin tank tubes , twin circular headlights... oooh yeah !

I'm no expert on streetbikes. I'm a MX guy. I have a 1995 ZX9 (yep oldie) but it stays planted and is comfortable and way fast enough for me (will easily smoke my '06 Vette and that bitch is fast). I have ridden newer bikes and they all seem to be so light I was constantly fighting wind from nature and oncoming vehicles on a two lane road to keep them aligned and it just wore my ass out after miles (even steering with my legs and body position and also with no hands and laying on the tank and steering by lifting feet and shifting body position). I'm all for lighter weight but it's time to think of a gyroscope for machines running nearly 1,000cc at 350lbs. Maybe I'm crazy or maybe I'm brilliant. Time will tell.

You are having so many problems because you are trying to steer with your body and feet instead of the bars. Once you learn to countersteer it is going to be really easy to make the bike do exactly what you want, when you want at minimal effort. (push forward with your right hand to turn right, push forward with your left hand to turn left, the harder you push the lower you lean, turn into the turn to stand the bike up) I'm an X AMA roadracer just getting into dirt riding, kind of the opposite of what you are doing. Good luck with that ZX9R. I really like them. I will probably sell my Bandit 1200S and move up a notch to a ZX9 one of these days.

Mines a 2000 model and doesn't have any fuel gauge, it's not a big problem tho, I just top-up every 100 miles and reset the trip counter, then you never forget when to refuel :-)

Maybe! but "Power" is a perspective thing/feel. Either way zx9's were & still are fast. It's the rider. I had a 01 ZX6 (got stolen) but it busted GSXR750 butts, replaced it with a 03 zx9 (bored it out to 1040 or 1050) and it bust zx12s & busas. In process of trying to get a 05 zx12 (hopefully soon so I can turbo it). All that to say its the rider. Now that aside on to your vid So You Wanna Race (in next post)

Just because someone has raced for a period of time does not necessarily mean there gonna be Pro does it! Alot of very good riders dont get a ride! Its luck of the draw unfortunately! I test rode for Attack Kawasaki for a while and a couple of other top names in AMA, Raced Super Stock also a few years ago now. I a bit older now and have a family to think about but still love track days and tricking up bikes.

Dude my ZX9 with Jardine RT-1, stage 1 jets and 2 down in the rear doesn't do 187, 182 max via GPS.

I think it's 1000, not 10.000. If you look at the way it's counting up, the last digit is 0,1km. It's counting up roughly every 1,5s which is consistent with 240km/h.

Well yeah, the video is fake, but do not underestimate a ZX-9R mate. A factory version has 128 hp on the rear wheel, a bit of tuning and 150 is easily within reach. No 750 or 900cc is a match against a real good ZX-9R. No offence.

a zx9 is a great choice.....because it isnt track focused, its (relatively) cheap to buy, its carbs not fuel injected so its easy to maintain without the electronic gizmo's, and ultimately it can be blinged to beatg pretty much anything :)....you can get a low miles good condition E1/F1 for about 3000 euros

I have ridden 6 kinds of streetbikes and even though I tend to have some little problems with the Kawasaki's the 1999 ZX9R always put a smile on my face and got the most looks. Lowered and a modest extended swing arm with a short exhaust you could hear my a mile away. To the person talking shit put me on a 636 and I bet I can out run you with your ugly yzf1000
