Zuko was always some of the strongest story. As for Aang I think they are doing something interesting with him with the responsibility of power. Aang keeps trying to give himself over to others so they can handle the not only the power but the sorrow it comes from welding such power. Ozai is great, and daniel dae Kim is great, so glad my fan cast of him lead to him being cast.... I'm being delusional.
The fact that Zuko's crew is the 41st division was the best change in this series. It made Zuko even more respectable. He is by far my favourite character in the live action.

The arc with the 41st is hands down the best change from the original show. It's one of those changes that ADDS instead of takes away or is an unnecessary change. It's this moment where Zuko evolves from the whiney, stuck up version of himself. It makes him more complete and makes the attitude he's been harboring make much more sense. It also shows off the chemistry between him and Iroh. Definitely my favorite episode of the series so far.
I'm glad you added that Zuko's scream was very Zuko because I thought the same! Small details like that really makes me appreciate the research the actors did. Especially Dallas Lui, he did amazing as Zuko.

I think the issue with Aang is in the original show he didn't really buckle down and start taking his role seriously until after the siege of the north. The first half of season 1 was more him dodging responsibility and the second half was him panicking and coming to terms with the weight of it. This show cut out more of the dodging and focused more on the weight of responsibility, so it feels a bit one-note at the moment. Aang's development comes along a bit more once he almost loses Katara to the general and loses Appa in the desert. I think we'll see a much better version of Aang in season two, especially now that the show is cleared to finish the whole series so they don't have to rush as much

This episode is one of my favourite pieces of Avatar content in general.
Is just me or they made Zuko more likable in the early episodes or probably because we just know him now?
"How are you going to carry this man?" The best way possible: off-screen.

“A drinkith for me is faces for the” 😂😂 that shit was so funny.
I'd like to point out that in the credits of every episode, the original creators are not there. But in Episode 6 they are written as writers of that episode, because it is the only one they did work on before they left. The best episode in the show is the one the original creators worked on.
Was that a ‘scooby doo on zombie island’ joke? Lol
I had the same reaction at the end, I was like "Why do people not like this?!"
zuko and iroh continue to be the most compelling characters in any adaptation. I guess the 41st division change was from the og creators. They have a writing credit in this ep i believe so makes sense it worked.
The dynamic between Zuko and Iroh is definitely the best part of this season, the most heartbreaking and well rounded journey. If the show gives this much attention to the relationship between Katara and Aang in the next season, this show would be unstoppable. As it is, I think the live adaptation would have been spectacular if it had been 10 episodes long in order to further flesh out the relationship between Sokka, Aang and Katara while letting key moments breathe more.... This show is on the very verge of greatness. You can tell all the pieces are there. The script and pacing just needs some tweaking.
