and for the other idiots who don't doubt and probably should - how come the resolution is so low considering the same equipment on a satellite orbiting Earth can give higher resolution images through a much denser atmosphere and at a higher orbit?

  • @ann_onn

@@doctormarazanvose4373 Because the LRO isn't the same as satellites orbiting the Earth to take photos. Its job wasn't to look at the landing sites - that was a small side benefit. It's job was to map out the entire Moon, at a resolution good enough to identify potential resources for future missions. NASA has no great interest in getting high-res pictures of the landing sites. They know exactly what is there, and we _already_ have thousands of good photos taken during Apollo.

@@ann_onn sorry to burst your bubble but the camera equipment used was the same. There are articles about it showing the resolution possible to achieve. As for your reasoning that NASA has no great interest. Do you speak for them? How do you know their motivations? One thing is for sure. For over 50 years they have not put this argument to bed and they could easily have done so. I'll leave you with one question to ponder: Why have they still not managed to design a space suit capable of protecting a human on the moon? We allegedly managed it decades ago and now we can't.

@@doctormarazanvose4373 You claim that "the camera equipment used was the same.". It wasn't. If you think it was, show your evidence. From my side: search for the LRO, and you'll discover its close-up camera had a resolution of 0.5-meters. [1] "Do you speak for them?" - no, of course not. I'm not American, and I've no vested interest in NASA. You'll probably claim I do, because you're paranoid. "For over 50 years they have not put this argument to bed and they could easily have done so." - they have. Via thousands of photos, hundreds of hours of video, moon rocks unlike anything from Earth, people around the world receiving their live broadcasts as it happened, thousands of personal testimonies, full documentation of every nut and bolt, spaceships in museums, more recent pictures of the landing sites from India, Japan, China and Russia, and so much more. No matter how much evidence is given, a few idiots will claim it was fake, with absolutely no evidence. "Why have they still not managed to design a space suit capable of protecting a human on the moon? " - they have. Apollo 11 through to 17. " We allegedly managed it decades ago and now we can't." - why do you think we can't? Of course we can, if someone pays for it. They're going back next year. 1. Arizona State University. @@ActivateMission2ThisTimeline "Why did all but one astronaut refuse to put their hand on the Bible and say they went to the moon?" - because Bart Sibrel is an irritating moron, who was hounding them and trying to trick them into false admissions. "Why did all the photos toluene out studio quality" - they aren't. There's lots of bad photos. You don't often see them, because the best are selected. "...when you can't even put unprocessed film through a xray machine at the airport?" - you can, and they'll be fine. "Where is the magic technology that got them there?" - nothing magical about it. Just a huge rocket. Go see one in a museum. "Why will nasa not allow visits to these sites from private companies?" - they will. "What about the voice delay mistakes talking to the moon and back?" - the delay was about 1.5 seconds, which is exactly what you'd expect. That can be seen on all the recordings of the live broadcasts. Some of the footage has been edited to remove the delays, and conspiracy theorists use that to make stupid claims. "Why was all the telemetry destroyed?" - a) it wasn't *all* destroyed. b) Telemetry is a boring list of numbers, such as the temperature inside the cabin every 30 seconds. All useful data was put into the mission reports, so those tapes really aren't important. "What about the film that showed Apollo 11 in earth orbit while they faked a small earth in the capsule window?" - that's Sibrel again, lying about what you're looking at. It shows them closing a blind, not using a faked Earth. If you watch the original footage instead of his silly movie, you can hear them talking about what they're doing. Sibrel removed the sound, of course.

There's an idea for a video . Harrison Schmitt , one of the landing crew is still around . He was the only bona-fide scientist to get an Apollo seat . The pilot types hated the idea that the job could be done by anyone other than one of 'the brethren & possessor of the right stuff ' . It's interesting to note that there was virtually no hand-flying on an Apollo mission . The small amount that was done was heavily augmented by the digital autopilot (AGC) and was quite different from controlling a craft under aerodynamic forces - the Lunar Module was the only flying vehicle built without aerodynamic forces in mind , to work in a vacuum (the moon has an extremely tenuous atmosphere only) . Schmitt did a magnificent job - even his commander , Cernan couldn't find fault - and believe me - if fault was there - ol' Geno would have found it.
