Zoom H5 Portable Field Recorder Sampling (With Cat!)

The Zoom H5 is an affordable battery powered portable recorder. It comes with a stereo mic and mic/line inputs, but you can also switch the microphone for other attachments if needed. In this video we recorded a bunch of sounds that we sequenced with Ableton Live 10.
With a portable field recorder like the Zoom H5 you can turn a railroad train into a kick drum or a smashing Club-Mate bottle into a snare. You can even add cat meows to your tracks!

Love it! But it needs more cats
Wonderful film montage and sync with all samples you have recorded ! And the track is very cool, a sort of "harsh without noise" !

One of the big bad think about the zoom H5 is the mic that come with is all plastic. when it drop to the floor even 40cm high, it breaks instantly. Ah! and there is another one, The Soft Touch feel. It attracks all the dust of your room and it become sticky in one year. execpt that two points it's a very nice recoder.

This is trippie¿? cuz I just got an H5 just a couple months ago start recording my gear! on the 4th of July I recorded some fireworks outside my house and sampled it into my po-33🔥💫🎧😵👌👍

there are four buttons in the middle of the H5 labelled L, R, 1, & 2. If you push the L & R buttons you will be recording from the microphone on the top and if you push the 1 & 2 buttons you will be recording from the line inputs on the bottom.
What did you use to treat the sound files to remove noise or make them sound so crisp?
Would you say this is even more sensitive than the H1N?
Seems nice, but I'll just take the cat for now

You can use it as a soundcard
I do acapell rhymes and then plug in sampler with drums and synth to inputs. Play the rhymes to my beats.
What is the best way to cut out background noise with the H5?

setting your recording levels as high as possible without clipping when recording and then using a gate in post can reduce noise. Also record in 24bit can help with lowering noise.
