Zoo Tours: The Teton Trek | Memphis Zoo

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

EPISODE 105
Just about every zoo has at least one attraction that drives its guests to relive it over and over again - the Teton Trek at the Memphis Zoo is that exhibit. This $16 million display is a tribute to the Grand Teton National Park and Grand Yellowstone Ecosystem. In order to pull this off, the zoo recreated as many iconic pieces from these great parks that could fit in just 3.5 acres. Firehole Falls in Wyoming, The Old Faithful Geyser fixed in front of a rendition of the The Old Faithful Inn - complimented by the ecosystem's staple species: wolves, bears, elk and more. Words cannot begin to describe the level of appreciation this immersive experience deserves. The Teton Trek is not only an accomplished zoo attraction, but it will make you want to pack your bags, and head straight towards America's Northwest as soon as possible. Enjoy.

They do need a herd of bison. Would really enhance the theme of the exhibit and they’re some of my favorite animals.

Woah, never realized how nice the Memphis Zoo is! I'm not too far away in Georgia, so I definitely need to visit soon. That bear exhibit is top-tier, very spacious, and it's cool that they rotate between the two different species.

The only thing is I wish it had a little more in it. What about Bison, or even Mountain Lions or other animals? I’m glad they are finally filling up that very long pathway that connects this section of the park to the other. It’s just bare land up until you get to the lodge.

I love the Memphis Zoo. The panda exhibit is my favorite of the four I've been to in the USA (including the defunct San Diego exhibit.) The Teton exhibit is really impressive. I only wish that the park area leading up to the zoo was a bit nicer. The parking lot seems really questionable. I'd also love to see them get a bigger reptile house. That said, their Nile Crocodile exhibit is itself phenomenal.

Also, visit the Sacramento Zoo cause' they hosted animatronic dinosaurs for their "Dinorassic Park" event there! Plus, 2 questions for you.... 1) What animal do you like at the San Diego Zoo & why? 2) Which animal from the San Francisco Zoo escaped & attacked 3 visitors like tasty boars back in 2007? Buffers & Carcharodontosaurus!🐅🐅🐅
