The Dollar Tree in my area (NC) sells little silicone finger caps. They work great to protect your fingers from burns when melting 2 strands together! 🙂

Nicely done. Thank you for sharing. Wish you well. BTW, Binder and bulldog clips (office supplies) can be helpful for stabilizing a braid until you can adjust and tighten it. They also don't occupy a lot of space in your toolbox.
