ZiMarimba sets new World Guinness Record Challenge
Zimbabwe is the new Guinness World record holder for the biggest Marimba ensemble. 222 Marimba players played the song Manhanga Kutapira in 5 minutes. The previous world record was set by 160 students from Oaxley State in Brisbane Australia in 2016.

I was there, my son was a part of the history making. Wish we could get footage that shows more of all the children. And would be good to have their names scrolling. For#Zimbabwe #Marimba

No blues with our music. When we sing , we dance to the rhythm. Did God know that we were going to be oppressed that He gave us music to soothe our souls. Thanks Almighty for being The provider.
Original Africa’s Marimba yes, but there is a Guatemala’s Marimba that set a new Guinness record recently.
Bravo bravo ....well done Zimbabwe , I remember learning Marimba in primary school and the first song we learnt was manhanga kutapira . To ice it we were taught by a Japanese music teacher .

Stop this classism, it’s old and ridiculous to be frank! There is no such thing as an “Elite” student! What do you even mean?! This isn’t Rhodesia! These comments display such a colonialist mentality that serves no purpose other than to divide us. They are STUDENTS and they are ZIMBABWEANS. Get over your inferiority complex! It has broken our nation for too long!
