Quick question, don't you find the gimbal's arm and bracket hindering the view of the mobile screen while using the gimbal for making a video especially when the mobile is on horizontal mode.

great review thank you. but apparently it does not auto rotate from vertical to horizontal mode or vice versa. need to manually change the orientation. hope zhiyun will fix it on smooth 6

If you are using it with just the filters it will work. However if you mount the anamoorphic it will be to heavy.

There is a 1/4 screw hole on the bottom of the gimbal, you can buy an extension pole with a 1/4 screw to install it

I stick with thr default camera app most of the time as it most lukely will produce the best quality, unless I need the features inside thd ZY CAMI app

I’m got this gimbal and noticed when you use the tilt (aiming the camera up and down) I hear some slight clicks almost rubbery sounds. Is this normal to hear these sounds on a gimbal? I only tried it indoors so maybe the audio is just sensitive to it cause it’s so quiet inside

Their cami app with the Experimental for option for Android users, when enable experimental, all the frame rate options are available in the shooting mode. When enable experimental, all the frame rate options are avialbe in shooting mode. But some of the options are not supported in certain smartphone operating systems.

Do you think you can also use your go pro on this gimbal ?

@@vee5931 if you plan on adding external lenses, save your time and just order the Smooth 5. I had the OM5 (similar payload to the OM5) and it couldn't handle my Pixel 7 plus an external wide lens which made the setup 287g. I put that exact same setup on the Smooth 5 and haven't had one issue.

Can the "follow tracking" on a gimbal be turned off please. I want to film what I'm pointing my phone at as if the phone is welded to the gimble, but keeping stabilization active. Thanks.

You can single press the trigger button to Enable/disable SmartFollow function.

Thanks! The DJI Mic would probably be most convinent. Just slide the phone away from the tilt motor and then you can simply plugin the dji mic in :)

I still have the Zhiyun Smooth 5s and it holds up pretty well. Just make sure to check your payload otherwise it will have negative outcome on the gimbal motors.

Thank you for the video, But I see the unedited footage on phone is shaky, Is it normal with Zhiyun smooth 5 / or any gimbal ? So do we need to stabilize in post as well?

Well I do most of the time add post stabilization if it helps improve the stabilization. It was very windy on that day, so that could be the cause of the video being a bit shaky. That is usually not the case with the Zhiyun Smooth 5s :)

If you plan to be recording while walking I don't recommend it. Is not going to be smooth recording. There needs to be a 4 axis cellular stabilizer to work like a real steady cam. This product is made to work while you stay still and just wave and extend your arms around for it to work smoothly.

The Osmo 6 is als a great gimbal, it all comes down to your shooting needs :) I guess if you need a strong gimbal where you want to add thrid party lenses then this a great option.

Why is so jittery when screen recording? 5:21 ... Is this like the DJI OM3, 4, 5 and 6, that can only work with phones with Electronic image stabilization, because they dont compleatlly stabilize your phone? Or was it really windy? Or did you not balance it properlly? ..... This is not how the Ziyun Smooth 4 is. I can even jump with that old thing and will keep the phone as stable as it can be.

Totally agree, thought I was getting an upgrade but the Smooth 5s to me is a downgrade from my previous smooth 4 in terms of stability.

Even though you have a gimbal, and "ninja walk", do you still stabilize your clips before you release a final video? I'm just surprised I still need to stabilize my clips that come from the Smooth 5 even though my phone is on a perfectly balanced gimbal and it has the phone's internal stabilization on. Is it unfair to expect that I should have nearly "drone level stability" from these newer phones with all this great stabilization added to a perfectly balanced gimbal?
