Hey, Matt, nice video. I've had the 5 since spring and I'll share that one point of balance that I didn't realize right away is that you balance for the tilt motor by sliding the phone holder on the rails. At 1:52 when the phone screen is tilted forward (and later after you've mounted the external lens), you can slide the clamp mount on its rails by hooking the tips of your fingers under the round mount point and using your thumbs to push the ends of the spring mount whichever direction is needed so that the screen of the phone settles facing the ceiling after twisting one way or the other. At 3:48, it was actually balanced for the vertical orientation. Thanks!

Hey Ron, I use the filters from Polar Pro - the mist and anamorphic filters are awesome - then just a clamp on filter ring from Amazon, you can get whatever size for the filter size you order!

This gimbal dont have switch from horizontal to vertical mode ? I am looking for gimbal with stativ like here Smooth 5s which will handle nd filter ( anti reflections)

It need manual install the phone with vertical mounting.

@@allstarbury In vertical mode, these two phones may not fully fit, but it's no problem in horizontal shooting.

I just want to say that the gimbal smooth 5 is good, but it's good only if balanced well, otherwise will not work (for anyone who might do the mistake I did, complaining about the gimbal without knowing how to balance it)

I own a Samsung Note 20 Ultra phone, and I took the zhiyun smooth 5s device, but it did not work with it because of its inability to connect to Bluetooth. I tried several times and the phone did not see it. Does anyone have an explanation or solution for the matter?

The smooth 5 is 30 pounds cheaper than 5s. Whats the difference apart from the lever ?

The biggest difference is the light, I would go for the Smooth 5 if you're looking to save!

Not sure these are really needed with the latest phones, my Pixel 6 is so stable. Learn the ninja walk and you can walk with it and the results are great

Yeah I mean iPhone 14 Pro is solid with stabilization, there is also “action mode” but drops resolution to 2.7K. I think there are just some things you can do with a gimbal that you can’t do with just a handheld phone, depends on what you’re shooting though!! Phones are insane these days

How do you balance this Gimbal in vertical with an ND filter?

Depends on the size of the filter - if it's too big it won't support the weight :/

If you are planning to buy Zhiyun smooth 5 gimbal then read my honest review below. I recently bought Zhiyun Smooth 5 combo. It's really hard to use. 1.While recording video it's won't move left right easily, you won't capture nice shots 2. Sometimes it's starts vibrating by it self while recording seems like any "Bull got mad" and will crush your phone. 3. It's so hard to balance & you can't connect external mic especially for Android phones. 4. I make some walking videos it's similar to my normal walking videos without gimbal. 5.if your a traveller then it's definitely not for you because it's to big to Carry. 6. For new use like me there are certain issues and problem to face. I'll not go into this product again

I also returned the dji Osmo 6 and I’ve just received the smooth 5s!! Can’t wait for your 5s tutorial!🙌🏼
