Hey Josh, thanks for the video. Question for you though. I just finished mounting the zoom and follow focus and balanced the crane. Testing it though the zoom won't stay in place. Meaning when I zoom in and out, it won't stay on whatever focal length I set it to. Once I let go of the trigger, it will zoom back out to the limit of my lens. Do you know the cause of this? Or if anyone does for that matter.

what about tamron rxd 28-75mm 28 for sony FE, where the rings are reversed? in Tamron the zooming ring is next to the body and the focusing ring is on the front, does it change anything with focus and zoom control?

On the crane 2, holding the gimbal with one hand and pulling focus with the other is difficult. Due to the ergonomics of this gimbal do you find it easier to hold the gimbal while pulling Focus? Also do you find the follow Focus on this one to be better? The crane 2 Follow Focus was good but it forgot A&B points every time you turned it off I found and in general do you find this one to be better in any way? Thanks for your replies.

Can it handle larger zoom lens ranges (for example 24-105 sony f4 G lens )? Or is this range will loose balance while zooming?

Hi Josh. Any thoughts as to why the CMF04 ONLY seems to work with the zoom rocker on the 3S? The literature suggests the motor can be used for either function, yet when I connect it, only the zoom rocker works with it even when I use the menu to "upgrade" the focus to the Max. Since I generally use a prime, zoom is useless to me so I need this to work on the wheel. I don't seem to be alone in this and wondered if you have a workaround?

Hi Josh. Great Step by Step. I've got this pre-ordered and can't wait to start working with this here in New Zealand. I'd love to know if it will balance the 70-200 GMaster and if the camera body will clear the back motor when slung into "briefcase mode" Would you please be able to try it if you have the 70-200GM? Also a "Focus Hold" servo would be a kick ass accessory if you want to leave your set up in auto focus. I use focus hold all the time when handheld. Cheers.

I just ordered a 3 Lab + Zhiyun's Follow Focus Lite. I did not realize that the included rails are smaller than the standard 15/19mm rail systems. Do you have a practical solution to using an aftermarket wireless FIZ system (EX: Tilta Nucleus-M) with the Crane 3 Lab? I originally purchased Zhiyun's Follow Focus simply to get the rail systems that comes with it expecting I could use it with the Tilta FIZ, but now seeing the rails are smaller has me concerned a bit about how compact I will be able to build this system. For reference the goal is Crane 3 Lab + Tilta Nucleus-M (Focus/Zoom) + 7in monitor (attached via Noga Israeli arm) + (maybe) a V-Mount battery to distribute juice to monitor, camera & focus motors. Would love to hear your thoughts as someone who owns the Crane 3 Lab. Mine gets here Monday, but I am waiting on the Tilta FIZ purchase until I get things worked out. Cheers!

Same here Can I use the MAX servo be controlled by the Focus wheel on the base of Crane 3? Currently only the Zoom rocker switch on rear handle controls that Max motor. Any suggestions? To use Max as focus?

Hi there Question When I plug in the zoom motor the follow focus all of the sudden doesn’t work. Only zoom. Until I unplug the zoom cable then focus motor is alive Any suggestions Firmware??

Is there a reason you would use the follow focus with a sony a7iii? Does that camera not have amazing autofocus? Great video by the way

If you are trying to do a slow controlled pull then autofocus isn’t an option.

Ive yet found a reeal review of this product, its either unboxings or other videos that are in other languages

Anybody know where to find the adjustment arm ?

Is there a remote for a focus puller too ? Because pulling focus while shooting is too difficult

I’ve just bought and installed both the follow focus servo and the zoom servo. When I connect either one of the two, it works fine, but when I connect both at the same time, only the zoom servo works through the handle rocker. The follow focus doesn’t work. The wheel doesn't do anything. I’ve tried in both movie mode and manual mode and I still have the same issue. I have also set the lens to both AF and MF and I still have the same issue. My gimbal is attached to the Sony a7iii with a Sony 24-105 lens. Any advice on what could be wrong here?

Hey man, there is no V2. There might be a communication error between B&H and Zhiyun.

Would you recommend this gimbal over the Ronin S? Especially for Sony systems

Yes. Ronin-S is totally outdated when stacked up against the Crane 3 Lab. The 3 Lab is very intuitive, has a much more ergonomic design, and is overall just a better value as a gimbal.

I have a questiom about why when I use the rocker，the follow focus and and zoom control just start working at the same time，but when I use the follow focus wheel，nothing moved，btw，my camera is bmpcc 4k

I had this issue because I wasn't on the latest firmware. Try updating the firmware :)

It will be soon with a potential firmware upgrade :)

My crane 3 have usb type c on focus/zoom control ports :O

I assume the ff does not have a/b stops? If not, do you think it's possible to add stops with a firmware update? Can adjust the response speed or range for the ff wheel?

All of this is supposed to work once they update the firmware of the gimbal. Right now the A/B points aren't working the way they should.

Thanks! Also...since the FF and Zoom motors are different sizes and torque. Could the zoom motor be used as the focus motor (incase the focus ring of the lens is wide & heavy)? If it can be, I assume it will still be assigned to the focus wheel on the gimbal and not the rear joystick controller?

Yes, the motors can be reversed.

Although it is a wonderful system, we will need a substantial amount of practice to master it.

Unfortunately the follow focus servo AND the zoom servo only work into ONE direction, but not into the other direction although the yellow lights are blinking. Where is the mistake?

when I plug in both motors, they both stop working... but plugging in only one will work.

I have exactly the same issue, it was working then suddenly both motors stop responding and just have fast flashing lights. Did you get a fix for this?

mine are Blinking faster... a few minutes ago they worked well now they do nothing.... any idears?

@@MomentumProductions1992 yes i found the problem... i did a firmware upgrade and to upgrade the zoom and focus the crane have to be in standby mode (double click power button) and only one servo has to be connected. If you upgrade focus go to FOCUS -> Lite -> upgrade and zoom is FOCUS -> Max -> upgrade
