Having handled this watch I can only concur that the play of light on the case and bracelet is visually very stunning. Keeping the dial muted and minamalistic was a smart move as otherwise there would be too much going on. The strap change system seems solid and is simplicity itself to release then reengage bracelet or strap. Just mind you don’t scratch the bracelet engaging the teeth. The bracelet is truly mesmerising and the rubber strap looks very sporty and very well engineered with cool detailing and taper. Overall a great package. The date window is perfectly placed due to the larger El P movement which looks a bit from the rear with a cool full sized star. The only knock I can see is that bracelet and case patina may cause anxiety if you’re in any way bothered by this plus there is no tool free way to adjust the bracelet. You get two watches in one and with the neutral black dial could also swap in the green or blue options for a different funky look. Overall a very well engineered piece at the price. And a beautiful presentation box. The effect of the 10s small seconds is that time is running faster, six times faster, so maybe now you’re living life in the fast lane after all.

Zenith needs to do a cross between the Classic & Skyline. Slimmer case & traditional second hand of the classic. The dial pattern and angular case, bezel and crown of the Skyline. Move the date window to six o’clock using the dial color for the window & date. Leave the dial without words, just the star and Zenith at the top. Perfect.

first video put side by side with the old blue one. The new one def looks much better and more premium. Users complained titanium was scratch magnet, zenith listened and now release a steel version and ppl just like to complain. Nice upgrade on the dial compared to thick index and cheap sunburst dial on the old one. The only things I would complain is that it doesnt make sense to make it a thicker watch. And they should just upgrade the elite movement to high beat and let it give a smooth swipe instead of an useless small dial.

In Europe, the defy skyline is around 9k new. The alpine eagle is 15, the Piaget polo is 13,5, the laureato is 15, the h moser is 20k and the czapek nearly 30k. No way to put them in the same category. But I think the skyline holds its own against the alpine eagle, the polo and the laureato. But the streamliner from moser and especially the antartique from czapek are just a completely different level and price point.

The skyline would be awesome but the 10 second scale is just ridiculous. Zenith could then have dispensed with the stop-seconds mechanism, because an exact time setting is not possible anyway. Too bad, Hublot should have prevailed here with its senseless gimmicks. I would have ordered the watch with a 60 second scale.

  • @waterfordrs22

Far better aesthetic than the North Flag. Arabic numerals at 12&6, PR at 9 opposite the date window, nothing like this Defy. The lug design of the North Flag and it’s integrated design is arguably clunkier looking. The North Flag has its devotees, it would be cool to see Tudor try something different for once, but the NF failed for a reason. It would be interesting to see them redevelop and refine that theme. The Zenith is better balanced visually.

@@jacktyler5241 I never mentioned the Royal Oak. Integrated bracelet watches go way back, commonly found on brands like Omega, Movado.etc in the 70s. The problem with this feels like a knock-off in quality and design. It looks too common like any other integrated bracelet watch out there. I always feel Zenith can make stand-out designs that distinguish itself from other common designs out there. There can be tweaks in colors, patterns, sizing. etc to make it feel Zenith without it feeling common. That is why people love the El Primero. Because no matter how they tweak it nothing in the market looks similar to its design.
