Regarding Zenith as a Company: I recently bought a Zenith Chronomaster original 38mm (GEN 1) and had to send it back to zenith for some service. I was greatly impressed with their customer service. Definitely a "Tier 1" experience, and converted me into a believer. Re-fabbed my whole watch for $200, and returned in perfect condition, running +1 sec/day. My only wish is that they make more 38mm watches!!

@@dibtojyoti10 hello! The service was $200 and they replaced all of the hands, 4 screws, and repaired one of the plates. They also did a quick polish. I received the watch with all of the old parts as well, including the original sapphire crystal, which they must have had to break to do some of the service. The service took 2 months due to parts availability. The place that I bought the watch from was a reseller, and the watch was pre-owned in mint condition (as far as I could see at the time), and had just left warranty. The damage was caused by the reseller's jeweler, so I sent it to Zenith to set it right. Zenith knew all of this and was very generous in fixing the problems they caused. Rolex would not have been so kind, and would have likely refused to service the watch, as has happened to many of my friends. I was very impressed with Zenith. Also, I used the east coast service center in Springfield NJ USA.

Great video! Completely agree, I was disappointed when the Defy Classic was discontinued as I preferred this originally. Although, having tried a skyline on in an AD recently, the design and the steel on the wrist converted me!

This Zenith is not *for me* but I do like it! The 10 second small seconds is quirky and unusable, but I like that it's different. Great video and humor as usual.

@@Sojourner88 Well, not exactly. Seeing in person give you totally different perspective. Shame he didn't put on a rubber strap, metal bracelet is good but full expression is on rubber strap. Looking dial through the glass you will notice some serious stuff also they execute the date very well. As I said in video it is not possible to capture lots of details.

Great video as usual for a watch that I used to like in pics but as I've just seen its crazy seconds hand on coc.. Nespresso! - it's a no-go from my side. The little stars on the dial make me think of the Pittsburg Steelers - which is not that positive too (but it's one of those things that once you see, you can't erase from your mind). Thanks Evan!

Looks good on wrist! But imho it would look even better with some text in bottom half of dial (‘defy’, ‘skyline’ or something) for balance. Also prefer without the sub-seconds at 9 tbh, like the Classic.

Can somebody please explain to me what's the point in having a 5-sided star logo for your main brand, and yet you end up with a bunch of 4-sided stars throughout your dial?

Thanks for this review, great macro shots and lighting. Zenith really (10x) needs to improve its bracelet designs. They're deal breakers for me.

@@YoureTerrific most of them landed on Grey market and prices increased. Also due to everything that is going now (I'm from Poland and inflation is 18%, gas prices are skyrocketing etc) I do not want to make that kind of purchase now.

The dial looks like a bandaid to me. I can’t unsee it.

great price, and I like that I'd be able to wear it, unlike the other integrateds. edit: I'd like it with three hands, PLUS the gimmicky sub second dial. Or two sub dials. Then it would have some of the chrono heritage that goes with El Primero, and it would be something for those people that run their chronographs just to see the hand(s) moving, without being wrong in/for doing so.

Cool watch, fun gimmick, fun design... great watch if you have a fairly fleshed out collection and money to burn. I picked up a very nicely finished IWC, an in-house precious metal trimmed Oris for me and a diamond studded Oris for my gf for the same money.

Always a joy your videos. Nice watch by the way. Honestly, I'm a fan of integrated bracelet watches, but I believe that using butterfly clasps really cheapens the whole package.

Or Iwc pilot bracelet, Glasshutte also does it... Formex even has on the fly adjust on regular butterfly clasp. There's many ways to do better than this

I prefer the old round bezel, but the new dial is nice

Absolutely Beautiful ! If One were to Forget the hype..this is a way better steel then the over hyped and over priced Ap or rolex.

It seems pretty good if you don’t have integrated bracelet fatigue like I do. The ever present wit and good balance (& linguistics) got me through.

I am a vast Zenith fanboy, but I can't get my mind around this watch. Besides the silly bracelet (no half links, no fine adjustments, and no on the fly... forget about it) why this mini 10-sec hand? It's like, yeah, I even don't have a metaphor because it's too silly. But indeed a nice looking watch.

I have the skeleton version of this watch, and that one is even better IMO!

I don’t care how derivative the design is, or how useless the spinning seconds hand might be - it’s a sexy looking watch and that’s all that matters.

Great review as usual but that mad running seconds dial... doesn't actually really tell you at any point what the actual seconds are at since you have to gauge where the minute hand is between minute markers. We can super precisely never tell you what the exact time is.

I think they took a step back with this model. A 4-Pointed star motif on the dial despite that zenith star is 5 star. And then a small second counter that’s high beat (okay cool) but only counts 10 seconds and not 60. The old Defy did it better. This is too much trying to be an AP even with its bezel design. I really enjoy zenith as a brand but this one is a miss

Hmm. I’m sure it’s worth the money, but at that price point there are other options I’m interested in. If this was in the 3~4k range it’d almost be a no brainer. There’s enough that’s objectively cool and interesting to justify a purchase. Subjectively it’s just….cool. Erm….hectocoolo

It’s not well known, but if you are looking to time something I think Zenith makes chronographs.

Weird how we all see things differently. I saw the dial as a bunch of squished up circles, not 4 point stars. This observation means nothing more than I observed it.

12mm thick with only 100m of WR is a shame. A Sub is similar and has 300m of WR. The Aqua Terra has 150. If they got this down to 10mm thick, I'd be in.

@@saodavi6267 thinness is the whole point of the integrated bracelet design. It is the factor that makes it not only sporty but elegant as well. A 12mm thick nautilus would look ridiculous

Would be a much better watch with a 4hz beat rate and longer power reserve (and service interval since the movement isn't trying to tear itself apart). I mean that sub seconds reminds me of those silly baseball caps with the spinny propellor on top. A bit of a gimmick.

It’s nice but a couple thousand more and I could get a GP! What do you think?

Sometimes i wish that i had bigger wrists.

I love this watch and if it had a normal second hand I would have purchased it by now. Im kind of a function over form kind of guy. Yea, it needs to look good but if it serves no purpose at all I just cant bring myself to like it.

Why oh why do they leave off bracelet adjustments when watches much much less (monta) make them perfectly?!

@@YoureTerrific I’d rather have a standard clam clasp if it means I get adjustments. Here in Virginia we get super hot summers and cold winters, my wrist is like an accordion

Great piece but am no fan of butterfly clasps. I'd love to have seen them put one on of the minimalist clasps of an IWC Mark piece or GO SeaQ, but I think that's patented by Richemont.

Loved it when I tried it on….but I can’t help to think that a skeleton is on the way which will be epic

Zenith need to dump this and release a new classic sunburst blue dial made from stainless steel, 37mm and microadjust or halflinks for the bracelet. Perfection

Downgrade in every aspect from the Defy Classic (to me). Seems like the Classic wasn’t a hot seller & they wanted to change things up but failed to do anything but chase trends. I don’t think this design will stand the test if time

Cool, but I'll stick with 16 PRX's thanks
