Zendaya was doing method dressing long (years) before DUNE. And she has been direct about it in this year now, 2024, for DUNE: PART TWO! Astoundingly beautiful ensembles Zendaya wears for this year's PART TWO of DUNE, 2024, are knocking people's socks off!

I wasn't paying atention, but after seeing the movie, there is a pattern in Zendaya's choices for last couple of months. It's smart that she adopted only styles relevant to her role as Chani, not the one represented by Harkonnens or imperial court. Even with Atreides, she went for the military style that resemples Chani, not for blues (that represented a nature on Caladan) or Jessica's soft robes. Great job!

You make a good point, But The scarves and veils Chani sometimes wears are as soft as Lady Jessica's robes. Brilliantly choosing the ensemble for DUNE: PART TWO in Mexico a couple of weeks back brilliantly showcases that softness.

The Balmain dress + blue choker is 100% a reference to the movie. I agree with you about the dress being reminiscent of Dune's desserts. I also think the blue choker, which is minuscule in comparison to all that browny-tan, is a reference to the scarcity of water on Dune.

I thought that the choker references the blue eyes, the Charakters of Dune get, when they consume the spice regularly. But water makes sense too.

I agree! I thought the same about the treatment of the silk on the brown bubble Valentino dress, which mirrors the rarity and preciousness of water in the environment of Arakis (and the way water looks against brown rocks and sand)

The video I didn't know I needed! I loved Dune (and its costumes and Zendaya's looks at all the premiers, interviews and events) so much! She and her team clearly understood the assignment and her Dune-themed look were awesome. I wish more actors would dress in theme of their movies when they are promoting them.

I'm so glad someone did a review of Zendaya's movie "press" fashion. Her method dressing I feel really got us hype for the movie (part one didn't disappoint btw) Her outfits for this movie have been some of my favorites of hers to date great video as always

Zendaya dresses amazingly well. Her working relationship with her stylist is clearly excellent. I haven’t seen a bad look on her

I don’t think there is another celebrity who is on the same level as her fashion wise

I love the idea of method dressing. It just makes sense to use fashion as an added expression, continious thought of the movie. It gives the movie gover feeling of the movie like few things can.

Loved this review as a whole. Zendaya, Lawroach and Luke make a great combination. But I must note I was happy when he left the Fremen category since the desert people are not pronounced Fry-man but Frəm-men. I also love how Luke tied her fashion as it relates to Arrakis in the 3rd category expanding on more symbolic choices rather than literal ones. Well done!

That’s just so overwhelmingly incorrect. He’s a terrible stylist to people who are not Zendaya, and he’s only a “good” stylist to Zendaya because she is incredibly thin and lanky and would look good in a potato sack. Can we stop uplifting mediocrity?

I thought it was just me! Each look Zendaya served reminded me of the film's landscapes and terrains. Bedouin Couture. The Balmain dress confirmed it for me.

Such great looks and loved the fact she stuck to the theme of the film.

Law and Zendaya are my favorite stylist/celeb team. The looks they create are going to be seen as iconic in the future.

Loved Dune! And Zendaya killed the press tour with her method dressing. Timmy also did the same. They planned some of their looks as soon as she was cast actually (as they stated in an interview). Can't wait to see what's in store for Dune Part 2. Loved this video, Luke. Thanks for all the hard work.

This was the best press tour fashion she's done to date,I appreciate how excited she was to do it because it's a big deal being part of such a promising franchise even though her part was small in the first movie

Loved the video, great indepth analysis and the Zendaya/Law combo is killer! But your mispronunciation of Fremen was killing me. The "fre" part is pronounced the same as the "fre" in fresh. Hope that makes sense!

I will say I am sad that they did not just go for it and film the movies back to back. Like if you want to do a big story that takes two part be confident enough to make both parts before the first one comes out. Like it does not have to be all about money. Though can’t wait for the second one.

When Zendaya deserves her own video to explain her looks 🤣

Zendaya's stylist knows her business and is actually capable of flattering her client with her choices rather than making her look like an idiot which some stylists seem to try to do. Zendaya's makes everything she wears beautiful - she looks better than the ladies modelling the dresses in each case - which is a hard feat. Each of the looks you showcased were exquisite and so much more interesting now you've pointed out the link to the Dune movie. If I was a fashion house I would be clamouring to have this young women wear my garments.

Now that Law Eoach is retiring, I’m on this rabbit hole of his styling of Zendaya. This man is truly a genius and has a deep passion for fashion. Zendaya truly is his muse, they make magic together. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Law.

The first time I saw that Balmain dress, I immediately recognize it as a clear nod to the Dune universe. The ripples harkens back to the waves of the dunes of Arrakis. Also, I noticed the wet look both the dress and the hair gave. For me, it incorporates the importance of water in Arrakis. With the wet look, they expertly merged the concept of water with the leather dress. The emerald, shining with its verdant splendor, symbolizes the dream of the Fremen, to turn their planet into a green paradise. Zendaya's character, Chani, is actually the daughter of Liet-Kynes, the planetologist. They find ways how to cultivate the arid land and grow greeneries, as seen in the ecological station scene.

Zendaya and La are truly top of the game. They make fashion critical to a work of art in a way so few do. MAD props to them.
