As a Theravada student of some 46 years I can only say: the expression of Dhamma in this timeless gem is refreshingly clear...

Thank You for sharing this! I just started reading his 'other' book 'Not Always So' and find this pleasing and complementary.

..the wonderful thing about stuff of this ilk is that it seems to be about either the constancy of thought (an elevated stress profile) and/or the content of that thought. Doesnee matter but sitting upright on yr arse is one of the least effective ways of reducing ones stress profile. And then there's the whole "signalling" of "I'm a meditator" whatever thats supposed to mean.Wonderfully silly with elegant aesthetics too.

Apart from all of the research done that shows that in fact 'sitting upright on yr arse,' is one of the most effective ways of dealing with stress. Are you still making things up four years later that can be easily disproved and have others laughing at you (not with you)?

@@ObakuZenCenter Sir, I've had a med. and mindfulness practise for 32 years. I've fasted, not continually! for 37 years. I spent a bunch of years in Thera and Zen monasteries as well as a year in a Benedictine monastery. Still have many close friends of 3 + decades in these trads.I know this terrain rather well. This doesn't mean anything and couldn't find the original. This is clearly your wound that you defend. It may heal more quickly when you uncover it and are less defended about it. Try being OK with being, maybe, wrong ? . "Negative capability" as Keats called it. Good luck and health. www.standard.co.uk/news/health/watching-david-attenborough-documentaries-just-as-good-for-selfimprovement-as-meditation-says-new-study-a3758891.html
