I agree. It's actually established that Hero of Time Link is the Hero's Shade who helps train Twilight Princess Link. His farm connection and humble background...it makes sense that Malon would be the other predecessor, guiding the new Link through the darkness. Plus with Ocarina Link's story, it makes sense that he would ultimately end up with Malon...post-Majora's Mask stuff that is.

This is what I love about Koji Kondo's music...It's so haunting and ominous and always keeps some kind of suspense, yet at the same time it's so tranquil and beautiful...It's very natural sounding and sounds perfect with whatever he is trying to show, whether it's the long themes or the motifs of places and characters. He's for sure my favourite composer, his music is very powerful, no matter how simple or complex of a structure.

This song's voice is the same voice in Ikana Valley. That means, along with the possibility of it being Malon's ghost, this voice could be a spirit from Ikana Valley, Romani/Cremia's ghost... or, you know, maybe it's just some girl that made music for Nintendo when Ocarina and Majora was made? But actually, this game has several other ties to Majora's Mask as well; this voice is in the soundtrack, Agatha calls Link "grasshopper" like Romani, and the Fused Shadow helmet is similar to Majora's Mask itself, and MM and TP happen to be two of the darkest (the former figuratively, the latter literally) (also nice alliteration there) games in the series... I know lots of people have already went over the topic of their connections though, and Hyrule Historia shows that Majora's Mask leads to Twilight Princess, but this is still interesting in itself.

I love this track for 2 reasons: Because it can chill me out, and creep me out at the same time. It's so very relaxing in a swaying, rolling, lulling sort of way, sorta of singing of the lonely freedom that comes with the night... But it's also ominous, like you should stay on your guard, because quieter, more sinister beings have come out of their dark hollows to prowl about the sunless plains...

I would concur, or at least nearly agree. I believe Malon was the Wife of the Hero's Shade, and they both died shortly after the birth of their son, Ordon Link. Their ghosts haunted Hyrule, the land they shared a love for. He died in battle before he could train true successor, hoping his own son would be the one. She died wishing only for the Safety of (Twilight Princess) Link. ... Zelda is a good bit more macabre then most folks remember...

One of my theories about malon in this, is that her singing to comfort her grandson, is because she understands how awful it is to be a link, when nobody knew about the hero of time, and he came to her, and played eponas song, the hero of time could've (in their long life together) told her about the whole journey, from the deku tree to termina. And she'd be truly one of the only people to understand how terrible it is to be the legendary hero, so she sympathizes, holding onto the mortal plane just enough to comfort her grandson, epona, and the hero of time with her voice.

@acesonfire Hehehe, oh man its all nostalgia here :D I can spend hours on youtube listining to old nintendo songs, and Im 23 years old. Welcome to the club. MM and OoT indeed had awesome soundtracks. Especially Ocarina of Time's end credits (about 7 minutes)...

If u listen closely its just an analog/synth voice, not necessarily any person in particular, especially since lulu and malon and pretty much everyone who ever sings has the same voice in oot mm and tp.

Avoozl Like many Nintendo games TP could be so much better with some little adjustments. I actually liked the wolf parts in TP but they could've been so much better. Being a wolf limited your interactions in-game instead of adding more variety. Combat was just boring as wolf imo. It wasn't even possible to attack enemies laying on the floor apart from the poe souls. Additionally the wolf was way to similar to normal link to controll. Being an wolf should feel completely different but in TP it doesn't. But I love TP so much and all other 3D Zeldas... ... except Skyward Sword I guess.

There's better ways for gameplay variety unlike being forced into a wolf every so often. I don't play Zelda games just to play as an animal.

We can see this as two ways. It's either Malon's spirit singing or it just because the composer just reused the that voice sound again because it was fitting and sound good (like in Ikana valley in Majora mask. Her voice is there too). Im a believer of the former but won't be surprise if the second was the real reason

@Ashley Walton that wouldn't sound. He accurate actually departed hyrule. He missed navi after she left the temple of time, And link eventually ended up in termina due to the skull kid ( with majoras mask) stealing epona and then turns link into a deku scrub. He makes partners with tatl when skull kid leaves her behind.

Made_In_Heaven88 It was - it was just more organic(they used an actual singer why Ocarina of Time used a MIDI voice). Just look at it as Breath of the Wild as having a more contemporary Malon voice.

I dunno, TP Link could be a few generations later, maybe the Link family chilled out in Termina for awhile, then TP Link's parents decided to see the place where their grandfather was a hero or something like that, jump into the end of of my story where they die either crossing the lost woods or shortly after. But in the end, they'res probably some other theory that utterly ruins both of ours. I do love having someone to point flaws in my theories though, so thanks!
