Man, I don't understand how some people can hate this game. I've been playing Zelda for most of my life, and I honestly don't think there's ever been another time where I've been more emotionally invested. The characters. The story. The soundtrack. Everything. This is the game that made me truly fall in love with this series, and for that alone it holds a special place in my heart.

I beat TotK a few weeks & I was pretty disappointed with the overall experience. I love BotW even though it’s not perfect, the newness feel direction & endless exploration that it offered made it a special to me. But TotK is just BotW again but bigger & expanded, & bigger doesn’t always mean better. I found the story to be worse, the characters are 1 dimensional, the Ultrahand was cool but get very repetitive overtime, the dungeons & bosses being mediocre, & the list goes on. There are things I like such as the endgame stuff & as well as the Ganondorf Boss Fight, the Sky Islands were cool, the opening was awesome, & the list goes on. I don’t want to write a long review but I’ll just say this. TotK is a good game but I was very disappointed with the overall experience & it’s now my least favorite 3D Zelda game. I honestly rather go back to BotW for its simplicity gameplay over TotK’s complexity gameplay. I look back at Twilight Princess, & man it’s still a very special game & my favorite Zelda game. Sure it’s very linear but it had a great story & strong cast of characters that I found interesting unlike in TotK. And also, TP Link despite being a silent protagonist is an incredible deep character who expresses a lot & shows concerns for his friends. Him, SS Link, & WW Link are the Links that have the most personalities & I love them for what they are. And when we get to BotW/TotK Link, he’s nothing but an emotionless character & I kinda now dislike him unfortunately. So yeah, I still love Twilight Princess & I didn’t like Tears of the Kingdom much sadly. And hopefully the next Zelda game ends up being a much better game.

The beautifully poignant thing about it though is that... did it have to be this way? Was it truly necessary to sever the connection irreparably? What this game served to prove was that evil exists in both shadow and light and everywhere in between. It was never just because of the Twilight realm invasion, it was because of the malignant evil that corrupted it after the Light Sage's haphazard disposal of Ganondorf. There was never an inherent evil solely from the Twilight Realm, even if it was spawned from it which to me serves to prove that good and order managed to triumph anyway in the end. It was Midna's guilt and uncertainty that led her to making that ultimate choice of severance, one that I don't believe to have been truly necessary but in that moment, she deemed it best to keep them separate forever to avoid another tragedy that may have never occurred regardless. It is such a profoundly tragic and harrowing moment of succumbing to fear of what might be, instead of taking the chance to be happy within union and be with those she cares about i.e. Link. It was a misguided act of care and protection in my eyes. No other game or piece of media for that matter has made me feel anywhere close to as utterly defeated as I did after witnessing it. Powerful doesn't even begin to do this ending justice.

You know the adventure is grand when the credits theme is 12 minutes long. Seriously though, I could go on for hours about how much this game means to me and how much it has affected me as a person. Thats a very odd thing to say, considering its just a video game. Depite that, it has taught me a lot, it taught me about responsiblity, caring for those around you, being a good role model, always striving to improve, and of course being couragous in all you may do. Do I do all of those things? No. But I try, and hearing this song, and reliving the memories I have had involving this game put me more or less on the right track again.

Zelda: Shadow and light are two sides of the same coin… One cannot exist without the other. I know now the reason the goddesses left the Mirror of Twilight in this world… They left it because it was their design that we should meet. Yes… That is what I believe. Midna: Zelda… Your words are kind, and you heart is true. It all in Hyrule are like you… Then maybe you’ll do all right. This is probably going to come out really cringy but I wanted to tell the story so I can come back to this comment as a keepsake of sorts. Today, I moved out of my childhood home to go to college. I’ve been living there all 18 years of my life, and Zelda games were a pretty colossal part of my childhood, Twilight Princess included. I’m not sure what struck me, but as we were driving out of the neighborhood I decided to listen to this song cause I remembered it being incredibly beautiful and I thought it was a good pick for moving out to be on my own. It did make me a little bit melancholy, but as soon as the part when Midna vanishes started playing, it was like I started crying without even realizing it. Even the parts that followed it just hit me so hard as we left town. While this has little to nothing to do with TP itself, I hope it serves well in making people realize how impactful soundtracks can be. TL;DR : I listened to this song as I left my longtime home for college and it made me ugly cry in the backseat

I've never been in touch with the Zelda Series, but only grew up with the Mario games. Since my friend told me to try Zelda I gave BotW a try and this game was my first ever Zelda game. I was instantly enjoying Zelda and I needed to play the other games of the series. Now a few days ago I finished Twilight Princess and I loved it!!! Hyped to play the other games of Zelda. Sadly I never knew the Zelda series would be that great and so I'm happy to be able to play these games afterwards. Next game is going to be TotK and of course OoT after hearing all the good things about it.🤗

@@lildude2222 haha I know I was joking🤣. tbh I didn’t feel connected to BOTW as much as I did to other Zelda games. At first I kept lying to myself and the fans about how awesome the game is but when I realized some people didn’t like botw i became glad that I’m not the exception lol. I don’t have to conform to the popular opinion everyone has their own taste. The game takes a gigantic crap on the traditional and typical things the series is known for. Like, since when Link doesn’t wear green tunic? Since when there has been a Zelda game lacking proper dungeons? Since when do you not find heart by cutting grass? since when do you not find items in dungeon and instead have variety of expendable weapons like it’s Minecraft?. Botw is not bad it’s good for an open world but as a Zelda fan it ain’t my thing. in other words, it’s not what I’m used to. Call me old school gamer or some nostalgic loser but I still don’t like how Nintendo disrespects the kind of Zelda games we grew up with all these years. Edit: I know it was meant to break the classic formula of Zelda and implement a new one. New stuff doesn’t hurt but come on Nintendo botw and Totk is not like the Zelda games we grew up and loved😢

@@sultansaad1967 yeah totally, botw is an awesome game and i'm so excited for the sequel, but i hope next time nintendo will make something with more of a zelda feel. botw kinda feels like a lot of other popular games, but not so much like zelda aside from characters and some elements of the world. i hope that feel will come back to us in future game, I definitely missed the long and heavy focus on story, since they were always so good. maybe the next game will be more of a throwback, at least we can hope!
