Interesting to note: Skull kid are essentially immortal undead spirits so The Skull kid that’s Links friend is heavily implied to be this one, he remembers Saria’s song that Link taught him, he likes to be playful and mischievous toying with link as he guides you through the woods, he has eyes eerily similar to Majora…💀 and also he’s guarding and guiding the hero to the master sword which he knows his now long gone friend would’ve wanted. He’s redeeming himself generations later to make up for nearly destroying Termina.. How poetic❤

@@danielreyes5165 it’s sweet. I inferred that all from just one little tune. The Sacred Grove sounds very somber in comparison to the Lost woods in oot, the forest is empty only housing Skull kid who plays Saria’s song he learned from Link so many years ago as Saria is a sage and all the kokori are gone.. It’s a nice message on redemption and it never being too late to be better. Neither Saria or Link may be alive to acknowledge Skull kids work but I’m sure his drive to be better helps him move forward. As in Majora’s mask he’s all alone again but this time he has purpose and as I learned from Majoras Mask the merits and memories of the friends he had. On a side note that I also noticed to point out this is definitely the same Skull kid, his instrument is a deku trumpet as it shares the same sounds as Deku Links. He also summons 4 puppets to chase the player (4 giants reference)

Id like to think that Skull Kid, even after losing OoT Link due to time passing, grieved appropriately and is now carrying on his friends legacy through Sarias Song, because he knew how much his Link loved that song. He learned after Majoras Mask about how true friendships transend anything, and is now spending the rest of eternity at peace, and is happy to see a familiar face...
