zAutomotive inactive Exhaust - Electronic Active Exhaust Simulator

Quite possibly the easiest solution to eliminate your active exhaust modules without popping a check engine light.

From zAutomotive
Only one kit required per vehicle; comes with parts to emulate BOTH exhaust valves.
If you want to remove the active exhaust valves on your Dodge or Chrysler vehicle, you need a valve simulator to prevent the Check-Engine light and diagnostic trouble codes.
Here is the simplest, fully electronic solution! Other options on the market are purely mechanical; require re-using the valves and mounting them to a dummy plate.
Installation:
1: Crawl under vehicle and unplug both active exhaust valves.
2: Plug in the Inactive Exhaust modules. Secure in place with a zip-tie.
3: That’s it! You can leave the valves in place if you have a stock system and just want the valves open all the time. Or you can remove them completely - even sell them!
Great for those that:
just want the valves open full-time
want to remove or disable “noisy valves” as it is common for them to rattle
have faulty valves and don’t want the expense of replacing them
installing aftermarket exhaust and are completely removing the valves
This kit contains two parts - one is the inactive exhaust module, with an automotive-grade microprocessor that communicates with the vehicle to make it think that the valves are installed and functioning properly. The other part is a dummy waterproof connector to keep the second valve’s plug from corrosion.
Works on all systems used in Chargers, Challengers and 300’s from 2015 to present.
Proudly made in the USA!

@ModifiedMechanic this will not give you the significant volume increase of a mid muffler or rear resonator delete. IMO I’m not fond of the higher pitched raspy sound for either of those modifications. It’s not a pleasant sound where the low pitched roar of a properly tuned exhaust is perfection👌 This mod will make it a little louder, give you some pops on the downshift and eliminate any issues you may have with the active exhaust ( valve squeaks, CELs)

Very cool product! The only thing is they are a bit pricey but I'd say worth it. I bought these recently and the install was a snap! No check engine light! I actually ended up returning these because of my driving style. I'm always in sport mode and if I'm not in sport mode I'm using auto stick on the highway. Reason is because I keep it out of 4 cyl mode (mds). I also noticed in hard acceleration when shifting gears you don't get that loud raspy pop when releasing gasses. Thank you for the video!

I got the plugs about a month and a half ago and can confirm the dust plugs for the actuators come in the kit now, although I had to figure out what they were for at first, since the online instructions doesn't mention them at all. But also, FYI, I confirmed on 19+ 6.4s that removing the spring and just wiring the valves open does work without throwing a code. I pulled the actuators off the valves and pointed a camera at them on startup to see the movement and all they do is spin about 270 degrees (vs. the normal 90 when operating normally) and go back into the default open mode and don't move at all after that until the next startup when they do the same quick check. For some reason this doesn't seem to work on 5.7s and I honestly don't know about the hellcats. Great vid as always!

Subscribed, your videos rock. Quick question....looking at the website about the Tazer it says "Force Engine Mode: Allows you to choose which engine mode to stay in. Very useful on 2015+, where you want the active exhaust to remain open with increased throttle response without the transmission being in track mode." but the instruction manual speaks nothing of it so if you buy a Tazer, is this still a requirement to keep the exhaust valves open in all modes?

Word of advice... NEVER use the MDS/ECO MODE. It will prematurely wear your engine and components causing component and engine failure around 90,000 miles. It absolutely does not produce better fuel mileage, in my experience the fuel mileage is identical. Just a marketing scheme and pat on the back for some engineer!

Hey man, sorry, hope I didn't damage your like button, because I slammed it instead of treating it gently. But seriously, I had to get the entire cat-back replaced twice on my '18 TA due to rattles, once at 100 miles, and again at 2300 miles. Sad how FCA handled that, could have saved a lot of money on their end (both in parts and labor) just having spare actuator modules and associated parts in the supply chain instead of fully assembled cat-backs. So far, the AE on my '20 1320 is working just fine with almost 5k miles on it. I should note that I'm one of those guys that thinks the stock 392 exhaust is more than OK, and likes being able to go quieter when slabbing it or just cruising, so the Inactive Exhaust would be a last resort if I couldn't get warranty repair and then couldn't find replacement modules.

@@WorkPlayDrive Upon cold start the valves are open. After the car has started, a short time later the computer tells the valves to close. I assume this device tricks the computer into thinking the valves are there when in reality they are disconnected from the computer. The valve, therefore, remains in the open, cold position. Another positive for this solution is if you have installed an aftermarket exhaust that has the valves (like mine) this will work as well.

I actually did a video on using the Tazer with Track mode to keep the valves open. based on all the comments I received people had issues with this. Specifically people don't want to modify their driving mode. Track mode for my hellcat is a rough ride the shifts are aggressive and if I'm out with the family it's not the drive mode I want.
