I'm really interested in seeing how it works out in the long run. I have high hopes for this unit, but many reviews I've read claim that it fails in fairly short order. I hope you continue to have good luck with yours. I'm enjoying this series, and look forward to a long term report in the future. 73, KC1GZR

I've also noticed if you change the sample rate of the sdr harmonics sometimes appear or disappear.

How does the quality/feel of the controls (buttons and knobs) compare between the two? I think the D9000 sounds more rounded than the Icom (which is sharper) on the 5100 What do you use for a dongle?

Iam told on my zags tone that my transmit audio is low, I don't know how to turn it up if there is a way, any help would be great, thanks

Hi i know it is really unrelated but you are the only one i think i can turn into this one. Iam currently in a home made project to use in our community in case of a calamity, I am currently working on a Mobile Communications Car which would theoretically operate in 4-6 UHF and VHF radios without interference when multiple radio is being used at the same (dispatch type with multiple teams e.g. Fire Team Channel on 1 Radio , EmS Team on another, Rescue tean on another one and so on) It will have 2 or 3 operators in 1 car so i need the radios to operate at the same time without cutting or interfering with the other radios. If i install it in a van and only use a car antenna how far should the antenna be without overloading the other radios? And what is the ideal Radio for this? (Looking for a mid ranged radio VHF and UHF / UV. Thanks for your help.

Random question but can you listen to marine band channels/frequencies with a Baofeng uv-82 specifically channel 16 and or listen to the RNLI can you reply to this comment with frequencies if you know or make a video ... just wondering as i don't want to fork out for a marine band radio... Thanks.

Have you checked packet port ? Does it work ?

I think the 2820 was around £485 new. I actually preferred the audio from the Zastone on that test!

I prefer the sound of the zastone icon sounds more tinny to me

When set up for FM cross band operation the 2820 will successfully relay D Star and Fusion (C4FM) because the bandwith is wide enough to permit this. Most cross band capable radio's cannot do that. So my question is can the D9000 relay D Star and C4FM without corrupting the signal.

In terma of bandwith what is needed?

Ended up buying one of these. It's mostly OK for 2m & 70cm bands, but it has some very poorly implemented features. The scanning function on ham band is mostly OK, with a few gotchas, but on airband it only works on vfo mode. Not implemented on channel mode which makes it pretty useless if you want it for scanning airband. I like that it provides rx on am hf bands but would have been nice to get FM rx also on these bands. It also seems to pick up a lot of QRM where my other radios don't hear it. Overall, OK for the money but a far cry from the icom 2820.

I have zastone D 9000 the signal very good but I tried in VHF local signals stations is good and far off signal and weak signals are missing and not receiving at the time of both transmission example 145.600 strong and in 145.100 weak signal unable to receive

in *Zastone D900* is it possible if we transmit on the vhf frequency while listening to the incoming information on the uhf frequency at * the same time* ?

I think so because it should have seperate trancivers but it may mute it

What about speed of scanning? Icom beats zastone?

Hey @ringway Manchester I bought a "Used" Zastone which only has ben unpacked even the screen cover is still on but i got the 2021 version aka the Zastone ZT-D9000 which is great so yea im excited but ill get it on christmas so a little bit of waiting needed ._. Ps: it also has a minni usb port for aprs

As far as i know its used for | as a tnc but thr zt9000 aka the 2021 version has a micro usb port

Hi I need help with air band. I cant seem to get the d9000 to switch from fm to any other mode Air/AM. I press function button then mode and see WX-01 that goes to WX-10. Is this weather reports? Been through instructions but no joy? Please help, Dan

First you have to press the (FUNC) key and select the dual mode. Then you select the right side vfo, again press the (FUNC) key and select (SNGL). Then you press (FUNC), and there you select the air band with the screen button (MODE). I hope it is understood since I speak Spanish and I translate with google translate.

Let me try again, what is the packet port for? The book lists it as data as well as TNC in different places. What is the pin out for that packet port? It appears to be an 8 pin DIN connector. Thanks ! John

@@johns2590 I asked Zastone themselves in regards to this, and they state that it is for future use. This was a couple years ago when I purchased my D9000. I am considering a 2nd one, as my current one is fantastic, but i would like to see what the packet port goes to on the PCB, so if i do get another, it will be opened up right away.

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. I went out on a limb and bought the IC-2820H when I first got licensed. I've yet to see another radio with the features the 2820 has. True dual receive and diversity receive in single channel mode. Each VFO has its own audio out. When using the data jacks and the right settings, you can use the two transmitters/receivers independently and simultaneously. Come on Icom, give us another radio like the 2820.... Yaesu, Kenwood.. somebody please offer a radio with diversity reception. After all, you know Zastone, Baofeng, Anytone and the others are reading this and taking notes. jus sayin

Try thr standart e.g.0000 1234 etc

RDA1846 based radio. No band preselectors. BNC antena input is filtered for 446 MHz with 2 SAW filters 2 MHz wide only. Bad AM reception , too slow AGC. The software have lot of bugs. No future software updates.Avoid.

For some people, R&D stands for Replicate and Duplicate

Icom 2820 it have crossband!

"Zas" means "theft" in China.

Did a quick google search and found out the Swiss BAKOM banned this device, as it may cause interference..

There's a whole load of two way radios on their site that they've banned, and more being added all the time. It's because of the wide transmit range these radios offers and nothing to do with interference due to sporadics and poor design, although I have no doubt they aren't as clean as they could be

@@electrocity2000 If the wide tx range is the (main) reason for the ban, their list might be much longer, imho. Most of my rigs tx out of amateur bands, but only one is on their list. But: I´m not Swiss, so I don´t really care ;)

Well i must sas thati think that ur not the only one that noticed this but doing a voice overlay can be hard so just go with it😁

Ones a high quality dual band radio with Dstar the other is a cheap Chinese clone copy no comparison
