    Incorrect, Loa is relative to the Light. Literally, they are the children of Eonar/Freya. Who is an extension of Elune/An'she, they rule close together on the cusp of The Light and The Wilds.

    Also, and I cannot stress this enough, if you played as a troll in Cataclysm during the troll content patch you not only got to see troll paladins in the revamped dungeons but you could actually understand their prayers during combat: "Ancestors be beside me! LET THEM HEAR YOUR VOICE!" epic... The Zandalari have always worshipped the light of their ancestors, Zandalari paladins make sense.

They also have a racial called "Embrace the Loa" which depicts a troll praying while a heavenly light shines down on him. Sounds like a paladin to me.

    taurens drew power from what they believed to be an'she (the sun). and lorewise it was said an'she isnt the same as the "light" yet i doubt so. with zandalari trolls, they are basically super religious trolls that worships loas and loas are spirits. there can be a possibility where there is a loa with "sun" or "light" powered, and going by their religious culture there can be zandalari paladins.

    Um, Church Of The Light never knew where their powers came from, only that it's light. To bend light as a rule of thumb you need strong faith in something, like self, ideals, religious dogmas, etc. and iron willpower. Seriously, it's "clap your hands if you believe" kind of power-source, it's not some math like arcane. Look at goblins for example, they are using willpower to wield the Light, driven by greed. Light is not really picky.twitter.com/MickyNeilson/status/309835283426312192 Seriously, Paladin/esque type of people are more of a cultural phenoment than technical.

    The class reveal was quite disappointing to me. Priest and paladin made the most sense to me. Zandalari were the most devout to their gods. And pallys are holy warriors dedicated to their deities/powers. They definately made more sense than warlock. Haven't they been secluded away from the rest of the world? When did they contact the legion or learn their ways? Also: watched a few of your vids, love em. Glad I found your channel. :)

    Thank you! Very glad that you enjoyed them :) That's a great point too about warlocks. How did they come into contact with the fel, other than if it had to be by chance that they came across it. Which is a weak lore point at best. It's almost akin to pandaren being warlocks, seeing as how the two races were clearly isolated. I would also presume that indulging in the fel would also be heavily against their strict priest hierarchy and general spiritual way of life, so they would be outcasts and very few in number.

    Gongrongzong I always liked the Zandalari ever since I happened upon them in the pre cata world. And ate up all da juicy troll lore since. So maybe they have the Zandalari warlocks summon Loa spirits or something, instead of demons, maybe? I highly doubt it, as it's alot of work and they already get new Druid forms, but it would be a decent lore reason for "warlocks". But yeah, warlock is, at the very least, a much weaker class to get lorewise than the paladin. 'So here ta hopin' dat wowhead be wrong on dat one, mon.'

  • @t.va.6611

    @t.va.6611

    They had demoniacs being mentioned since vanilla, not the same but for the sake of gameplay purposes them getting warlocks instead seems like ok. I mean demoniacs are like a blend of demon hunters with warlocks on steroids, and blizzard won't create a whole new class which shares a lot similiarities with the other one, especially for one race in one faction.

  • @Gongrongzong

    Yea! I liked in cata how they came back and everyone was in a panic of how the trolls might take over again. I agree with you, I really doubt that fel magic or demons could be channeled from the Loa, as they all kinda came from Sargeras or Archimonde/Kiljaden. Hopefully wowhead be wrong mon, dey lore never lies :)

    Shape it had little development and only had some continuation in MoP. I liked it too. I think wow should be about stuff like that, Cthulhu, giant robots and time-travel themes just ruins game immersion for me. Like there are beings who can cleave planets in two and i am just a mook who is presented as something unique... bleh. Personal level of interaction>cosmic-epic levels. Fel is a primordial force, it comes from twisted nether. The stuff is just... it's unstable, unpredictable and has a tendecy to blow in the face of it's user. I don't see how a loa would be fond of utilizing such shtick, but who knows.

  • @sil7en354

    @sil7en354

    See the thing is that those who say that it IS a valid idea never bother to say why. The closest thing to an argument I've seen outside this video is "there were troll paladins in warcraft 3" so it doesn't really help the case when you ask why they would be valid only to be answered with stuff like "you're dumb." I can guarantee that most people relate paladins to the light, and even though I know better now I still have trouble processing tauren paladins but I've seen arguments on their favor as well so I'm ok with it, likewise, I am now ok with zandalari paladins.

    Funny enough, there were no troll paladins in WC3. I guess it gets under nerves when people who are against shouting that it's a dumb idea while not bothering to check it for themselves. Idk, but even if there was no lore foundation, horde really need some more paladin options. Two existing ones are too polarized, we have like beastmen and human+, no middle ground.

    In Argument for Night Elf Paladins... they've technically been around LONGER then Human and Dwarf Paladins... Night Elf Priesthood, the Priestesses of the Moon worship Elune yes... but Elune goes by another name as well, the Night Warrior. In her full moon phase, she is the mother, the healer, in her dark phase, she is the warrior, the huntress. Priestesses of the Moon are traditionally trained in Martial prowess just as much as they are in healing. If you've read the War of the Ancients trilogy, Priestesses of the Moon are skilled in ranged weapons (Bows) and melee weapons (Moon glaives, warglaives, Umbra Crescents, etc) AND they wore plate armor, a lot of them wore mail, but the higher up Priestesses wore plate in times of war. If you want to put it... they were the ORIGINAL Paladins on Azeroth, just not CALLED Paladins.

  • @Gongrongzong

    @Gongrongzong

    That's a good point! They were the first before most to don heavy armor together with the powers of the Light/Moon/Elune. It would be an easy transition for some to learn the teaching of the Order of the Silver Hand, which has already been shown in Legion to be possible

  • @t.va.6611

    Honestly, paladin is just a term for a holy warrior. Priestess of the Moon only difference between them and paladins is that the latter are utilizing heavy armour and melee weapons, where the previous relies on agility and overall dexterity and bows, etc. If/when NE paladin became a thing i hope there will be an option to recolour the light in to moonlight-white as it is lorewise must be.

    Some night elves do wear heavy armor though. Jarod Shadowsong is a good example of a front line warrior wearing the heaviest of armor :) That sounds awesome, casting healing spells in a moonlight-white colour. Great idea!

    @t.va.6611

    Yeah, but Jarod is a warrior, but i get the point. Tis not an idea, it's canon and lore-wise, Tyrande did it in books if my memory suits me well. Sunwalkers and tauren priests (whatever they are named as) both must have orange-reddish-golden colour theme instead of classic golden yellow. ps: my headcanon is that they are even using nature-magic like Arrakoa insead of light, it just appears similiar. Seriously, Sunwalkers lore is so vague and unflashed (ha!).

    Worgen Paladins would work as well. I think in fact it would almost make more sense than Night Elf Paladins because Gilneas was part of the Second War when the Silver Hand first started to train Paladins to combat the first Death Knights, who were Orc Warlock souls put into human corpses. Gilnean Paladins did exist and I don't see why Gilneas would've stopped training Paladins after they sealed their walls at the beginning of the Third War and the Scourge invasion. The lore is there, some people just don't want to deal with it.

  • @Gongrongzong

    @Gongrongzong

    6 жыл бұрын

    That's a great point, I didn't think about that. Gilnean pallies must have existed, or at least the chance of them would be very high. Greymane was close to Lordaeron and even had ties with Tirion. Perhaps their bestial nature prevents them from going all out full light? Something like the forsaken, who can tolerate being priests but can't take the overwhelming light presence of being a paladin. Not too sure. But your point makes a lot of sense, thanks for the comment!

  • @Archon762

    @Archon762

    6 жыл бұрын

    I reread your comment and realized you never actually called the Worgen Curse anything truly based in evil magic but I already wrote this so I'll keep this argument for any that would try to call it evil magic Ah that's people's first argument, the worgen curse is just that: a curse. And all curses are bad and dark right? Well not specifically. The Worgen curse may be savage, violent, and reduces people who have it mindless beasts (until the events of Cataclysm that is) BUT the Worgen curse originates from Druidism, their forbidden Pack Form from the Wild God Goldrinn. There's no Necromancy, Fel or Shadow really tied to the curse aside from how primal they are. Also on the topic of Gilnean Paladins there were some units in Warcraft two I don't remember what they were called specifically but they were armored Gilnean Light users in the campaign.

  • @Gongrongzong

    @Gongrongzong

    6 жыл бұрын

    You're completely right there, it is a curse, nothing more, and it has shown to be able to be cleansed by the same Druidism that binded them to it. Their bodies are whole, not like the Forsaken, and their mental capabilities are fully restored, showing no reason why they couldn't wield the light, as exemplified by worgen priests. Plus, many worgen are brute force fighters. Front line brute force + the light would naturally evolve into holy warriors. But that's a really cool point, that they were present in WC2. Been too many years since I played it haha.

  • @earendil383

    @earendil383

    6 жыл бұрын

    Matty H druids are not a horde or alliance class. They couldn’t really make Draenei druids or void elf druids, they went with what made sense with the druids, but paladins make sense with Zandalari, and they are keeping them out simply to keep the alliance with an possible shaman to pally ratio.

  • @mattymyth

    @mattymyth

    6 жыл бұрын

    That may be but considering things aside where it is very viable for Night Elf to paladins we know blizzard is not going to do so either now or ever in the future... But as the moment stands blizzard might not make them paladins because of the high amount of new class race combos the horde get over alliance. If zandalari can be paladins, that means this expansion, horde get new races for druids, shamans, and paladins.. leaving the alliance to get only another paladin class. As none of the new alliance races get the shaman class.

  • @earendil383

    @earendil383

    Matty H however that still stands to point that it will even out the difference in accessible paladins vs shaman for both sides, and then will only leave the Druid for contest, but the Zandalari don’t get monk, for lore reasons, when every class in the game can be monk, which leaves more alliance monks. As far as I know anyways with monks. And there’s probably something else as well I’m not thinking of.

    There's nothing connecting the loa to the light. loa are mostly beast gods or formless minor deities, and would be attached to life and Azeroth rather than the extraplanetary force of the light. Zandalari pallys is a pretty long stretch for the lore. Also, the bit about the Zandalari preferring brute force over dexterity is just in reference to the warrior class and does not invalidate the existence of rogues or hunters.

  • @Gongrongzong

    @Gongrongzong

    6 жыл бұрын

    You are right, there is absolutely nothing connecting the Loa to the light :) I was only making the logical conclusion that if Zandalari priests were drawing on the light, they had to be drawing it from somewhere. Coupled with how priests are the main class of the Zandalari, it wasn't too far a stretch to assume that Paladins would be possible. Just my opinion. I like your point about the brute force only applying to warriors. If that's true, then yea rogues would make much more sens

  • @Kyrrua_
    @Kyrrua_6 жыл бұрын

    Dark iron dwarves confirmed to not be able to become paladins, and theres some datamined videos showing zandalari trolls moving with 2 daggers aka probably rogues (we still could be wrong tho). SO the "dextery text" may be to take with a grain of salt. As for zandalari being paladin it could make sense from your video and like you showed, they already exist in the lore. I was hoping to have zandalari rogue/hunt/priest in bfa, I hope it will be possible lol. Aside of that I'm also rooting to have vulpera on horde side even if this chance is slim ^_^

Those classes have already been confirmed in the datamine. Of course, it's just alpha and nothing is 100%, but it's highly likely to go through :) And yes totally, Vulpera for the Horde would be so awesome

    Yea, agree with ya! I have no bias towards pallies, but a lot of their current classes make less sense than paladins.

    well, i feel like any race who can be priest and warrior should be also paladins

    Very true! The only exception to this would be the Forsaken. It burns their bodies really badly when they use the light. So it might be a bit of a stretch for them to be paladins who are overwhelmingly part of the light :)

    I agree but then again the horde is already having twice as much druids then the alliance does .. along with I believe shaman.

    Some were hoping that Dark Irons could be shaman, and the trade off is that the zandalari could be pallies :) Kul Tiran humans may be able to be druids too, so look out for that!

    Yea! Vulpera as a neutral race would be a nice idea. Get all the furries to be neutral :) like the pandas

    The only reason zandalari are not paladins is, that horde got way too much Druids recently and has more Shamans than Alliance does paladins, so giving them even more Paladins would make way too big class imbalance in factions. The lore for it is there and it would make sense, they even had to give Dark iron shamans, even thou they said they don't intend to.

    Yup, you're right. Gameplay reasons will always trump lore reasons. Which is a good thing, it is a game first and foremost, after all
