"Scandal noted" is my new favorite phrase.

What chemistry! And Zack, I love him. Garden state is so great, so tender and insightful.
Pete would have fit so perfectly as a recurring character on Scrubs.

Absolutely, 100% adding "scandal noted" to my vernacular, and THANK YOU PETE for sharing an accessible and easy to understand shorthand to allow us to speak of works while acknowledging there's nuance that's not going to be addressed at the time.

47:50 Pete, that actually reminds me of an episode of West Wing where they're trying to keep a senator or two from being able to add a land use rider to strip mine some area in Montana (and honestly, just keep them from getting one over on them) and the solution is to turn the area into a national park. The Sorkinism of it is that episode STARTS with President Bartlett talking non-stop about national parks for the entire cold-opening. Absolutely the golden lasso being in the beginning. Wild.

59:00 Pete, to your point (which is well made) it makes me think of that TED talk where they said "The opposite of addiction isn't sobriety, it's connection." That human connection is such a driving power behind the positive change in your life where as you said the quitting drinking part almost becomes just a natural outcome of it. You have this power of love and support and self-love and change that (sometimes, not always) the choice to stop drinking is just obvious.

I would rather take MDMA and try to give a TED talk than have to explain to Morgan Freeman why we're doing more than one take.
This is a fantastic conversation and one of the podcast’s best episodes.
I love this show so much. I saw Pete in New York on Saturday on tour and you don’t understand how funny he was. You must see him live. Laughter from beginning to end. He commands a room. I want to end with, please post We Made it Weird on here. I love the audio but I need the video! Lastly, I want to see a convo between you and Jay Shetty.

Really?.....
I read the Dale Carnegie book 20 years ago. It’s from 1947! Its still on my bookshelf. As Zach was pulling up the title on his phone I yelled it out because I just knew it had to be that book he was referencing.
30 minutes in, i don't want it to end! Interesting topics, insights AND funny.
What an absolute gift to the world this is. One of the great new friendships just formed in front of our eyes. ❤
Wow the part at 57:30 on stopping alcohol really got to me. I've always liked Pete as a comedian but his way to express concepts in this podcast ( alcohol and art definition) really hit me on a logical and emotional level. Thanks for this. Two of the greatest individuals ever ❤
I could have watched another 2 hours. Best one I've seen (oh and JLD's one).
I absolutely loved this conversation. Thank you, gentlemen. Also, Pete's impressions are fantastic.
WHAT? THIS IS ON KZread NOW? WHAT?YES!
You and him can play real bros in a film!
I notice the little things. The first time I noticed the little thing in a movie was.when John Cusack uses two dimes and a nickel to make a phone call at a payphone instead of using a quarter. We notice! Keep up the great directing Zach! 🎬💯😎
I was thinking about no coffee in the cups in movies the whole time! I’m so glad you brought it up, I comment on this everytime I watch a movie and there’s clearly nothing in their cups!!
I appreciate that Zach matches the pillow
This is literally me (Zach) and my little brother (Pete). If Tom Segura was there, my other brother would be represented. 😂
🥰😍❤️ please do this again!
Zack is such a talented and cool dude.
Thank you for 2 hours of joy! This episode goes on my top 10 pod episodes ever🎉 ¡Gracias!
The chemistry between these two was beautiful and so nice to watch it was an uplifting interview from two lovely people just chatting about stuff had me smiling throughout.
Holy shit. "Crave kindness". That's it! Omg... Thanks for putting words to it!
Quick request: Pete conducting every future interview in 1950's jargon.
This was a solid back and forth. Great stuff!
I LOVED this episode :) what a great convo
This was an absolute gem!
Z braffs yay! one of my favorite Hollywood actors
This conversation reminds of what I love about the movie The Trip, with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon!
We need to see you in Louisiana.
This was such an enjoyable conversation of what I’d assume were long long-time friends. Also, I have to go check out the hype of Glengarry Glen Ross.
Zach had to run, but...Chicken Run, starred Mel Gibson, scandal noted.
I can’t believe Pete didn’t like the Brady Bunch movie! It’s his style. The lines are great and “goody goody” is kinda both their things.
I could watch two more hours of this, more Pete Braff-isms, Zach Holmes-noted!

I’ve been kinda surprised at how much I’ve enjoyed this episode. I wasn’t in a hurry to listen to it even though I’ve been a fan of Zach Braff. He went on TYSO (Rick Glassman’s podcast) and I kinda hated the way he acted on it. I could be remembering wrong but it felt like Zach was taking himself too seriously, like he was above Rick and was unwilling to goof around in the way, Rick kept trying to. But maybe he just doesn’t like Rick for some crazy reason haha

You may have already heard them, but there are 2 prior episodes of Zach on Pete’s podcast
I want a biopic of Morgan Freeman played by both Pete Holmes and Zach Braff, where they just switch them out like they do with twin babies.
"Pete needs to be funnier" lmao. Ruthless, Judd Apatow
This gon' be good!!

What a great episode. Loved it!
I'd listen to a podcast of you guys talking about movie stuff all day.
OMG I need to watch the paddington movies too. For the memes.
Ive noticed the wet roads for as long as i can remember, thank you ZB lol i knew it
For some reason i laughed hardest at 1:48:37 "he salted it a little too much" idk why that got me the most, maybe just worn out from laughing for the past hour and a half!
These two are what happens in my head.
I love this show - thanks for another upload!
2 things. I love you both so much, zach for 20 years and pete only 10, please do a podcast together permanently, and number 2 zach please do neil brennans show, blocks. All my love to you dudes.
scrubs means so much to me, love zach so much
I love Zach Braff and Glengarry, so this episode Petey is playing the part of the cherry because everything else came up sundae fun-day!
It's so different experiencing Zach as the tame one after listening to Fake Docs, Real Friends for so long. Good stuff though, this is long overdue!
Yes! New one dropped. That made my day
BEST! These 2 just vibe
This was so wonderful!
need this more
My screen time is off the charts, for a couple years I always have either an audible or a podcast or a Ram Dass/Alan Watts/Trnce McKenna lecture. The podcasts are mostly all comedians. YMIW is the newest pod I’ve been listening to and had quickly become a favorite. I usually have to choose between comedians podcasts or spiritual content. The only other place I get both at once (not that Ram Dass isn’t funny) is the Duncan Trussell Family Hour. I almost never comment on anything. I love you Pete. 🫶🏻 Thanks for being you.
Blinds/drapes are ALWAYS open when someone goes to sleep, or 1st wakes up

@@justinclayton42 he simply wasn’t in a good mood it seemed. He wasn’t happy, joking or playful on a very playful, bit-heavy, comedy based podcast. He also borderline insulted Rick a couple times, as well as outright refused to ‘play around’ with anything. It was awkward, not entertaining and he came across even a little snobby… He blew it IMO.
Nice Morgan!!!
lovely banter guys, on the alcohol note... Never drink to feel better, only drink to feel even better. However respect to everyone that chooses not to drink at all. :)
I really do like hearing kindness. It's easy, it's breezy. It's all good stuff here.
Tears and belly laughs. Zach describes "Scrubs" in 4 words. :-D
Best episode yet!
Pete just wanted to let you know you're amazing.
This was a delight ! Love Fake Doctors Real Friends pod, and have been a fan of Pete's pod but had fallen off listening-though now that I can watch it here on YT I'm hoping for more of these (being able to see the conversations in addition to hearing them). "Scandal noted" LOL...good one.
Id pay big $ for anything Jessica K.! Great video! 🎉
zach braff i am your side kick!
I hate it when they make dinner in a movie, and then don't eat any of it 😠

or when they’re ordering a drink and they say “I’ll have a beer” lol. At least make up a name of a fake beer.
Love me a Glengarry Glen Ross-off!
You could open a Pizza place. Pete's Piz'ahhh. You can keep that idea.
It's really cool that Pete's older brother could join him for the show
great ep
Anyone who covers being human, will always seem ahead of their time. They're not. They're simply timeless because humans haven't changed. That's why Shakespeare is still relevant.
The thing that bothers me in movies is that coffee cups always look empty when they carry or take a sip. Pour some liquid in there! 😜
If you close your eyes during the "Morgan Freeman" portions of this episode it sounds like Ze Frank talking to himself
6:27 get intoit
"Ain't goin to Gobo..."
I love Pete and watch/listen to every podcast and watch his specials, shows, and movies, but I was surprised that he's gonna call his next tour, "Is This Anything," which is the name of Jerry Seinfeld's book from 2020. Not saying it's stealing or anything (and, of course, a book and a comedy tour are two very different things), but it is still a bit of an odd choice.

@@schizophrenic_AI I assume/hope maybe just an oversight. It is a ubiquitous thing that comedians say to each other when they're pitching new bits to one another so maybe it's so common that it's really not a big deal. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is Braff a highlander? Just never seems to age!
In the Big Book of AA, they talk about 3 levels of drinkers, occasional/recreational drinkers, hard drinkers, and true alcoholics.
Why's Pete interviewing @JessicaKirsonComedy 's less famous little (step) brother?
Please do a series of “what we h@te about movie conventions” for the good of most of us!
How about the set designer of Seinfeld and his VHS tape collection with two copies of, what is it, True Lies? It’s like they drove to Blockbuster and just scooped out of the 5 for $20 bin.
Super funny that celebs podcasting gets massively lower views than regular people’s podcasts
It's literally two of the same guy
pete’s adhd is strong with this interview. bruh, let your guest finish. that’s what she said.
Did Pete ever sum up what her learned in Sorkin's Master Class?
Goddamn this is a great podcast

Always hated the empty cup the most
Also, lamps, electrical lights are always on in the room, even if it's in the daytime hours Ugh
I wrote a script were I hook up with Natalie Portman. Any chance I can get some pointers on getting it made?
Love you guys! Has anyone considered that part of the problem with alcohol is the SUGAR?
❤️🔥
Come to UK you silly pants.
Talking about the screen writing and concepts around three act structure is fascinating. At Adelaide university the classes around creative writing teach these things as rules you must follow and it’s a big bland bore for me and is a big part of why I have disassociated from writing for the last year along with my mental health stuff but yeah fuck that bland screenwriting lessons.
omg, I wanted to watch this but Pete just never stops interrupting his guest with distracting non-related stuff or just sounds. Can't.
These guys look alike, and have same energy and mannerisms. Are they related?
hey, pete, it’s actually Toy Story 3. sorry to be that guy. Toy Story 3 is perfect.
30 minutes into the podcast... waiting for the red pill.
Dudes, if you're human, and not woke, you can talk about any movie or show you want, no matter who made it, because we are smart enough to separate the person from their work.

I agree. I think it has more to do with being an entertainer and how society is so reactionary. It’s usually a vocal minority but if you are constantly searching for validation then you begin to self censor out of fear of “backlash” under the guise of caring about triggering people. But in reality most people can separate the art from the artist. If we couldn’t then we would be deprived of so much culture and entertainment that helps of get glimpses of moments in time.
