Looks like i need a bottom end 😁

    When the bearings go they’ll let you know. Usually the sloppy bearing will torque the main drive gear seal just enough allowing the crank to suck in transmission oil causing lots of smoke out the pipe. EZ fix with the right tools, time for a full rebuild. I just did my KTM 300 at 550 Hrs. Good vid! 👍

    Thank's this is the first good example of crank bearing noise I have ever found on youtube. It's the exact same ratteling "rrrrrr"-noise I have on my scooter, but less loud ofc.

  • @robertgrant4683
    @robertgrant46832 жыл бұрын

    That doesn't sound like crank bearings. That sounds like a wrist pin. Notice when you rev the engine it puts the piston underload and noise goes away. It could be the wrist pin itself, or the needle bearings between the wrist Pin and connecting rod. If it was crank bearings they noise would get even louder and rougher as the RPMs went up. The noise goes away when under acceleration, check your wrist pin or connecting rod needle bearings.

    You won't know what bearings have gone unless you strip down the engine. Anyone can post a video with a noisy engine and claim it's a particular part but they won't know for certain. This is only helpful to understand there is a problem and it needs to be addressed.

    It's amazing how far a,2 stroke engine can deteriorate & still keep.running . I lost an oil drain plug during a x- c race on a 89 cr250 , bike was stalking going into corners, squeaking , I finished the 3 hr race ,so, the following Monday, I'm spray washing the bike , notice the drain bolt missing . Huh. There must have been enough motor oil film to keep the transmission shafts spinning , i wasn't needing to use the clutch a lot ,my FMF gnarly pipe really added low & mid rpm power , no need to abuse the clutch , I shifted without clutching a lot, when it was really bumpy . 50:1 Maxima super - M premix kept the crank & piston happy . Thanks Honda ! Tough as nails bike . I could write a book about what i put that bike through ....

    In a two stroke the gearbox-drivetrain oil does not touch the main bearings or engine, the only lubricant is that in the fuel, so the only damage you would get is on the gearbox side,not engine.

    @@BrendanDunne94 thats what i was thinking the bike looks pristineeeee and hot af!!!!! im also a bike mechanic and normally when clients send me videos you can never hear a bad bearing but in this case yeah well normally they send me a video of it running and then it arrives as a non runner. it still sounding pretty nice honestly but i dont like to run them when a bearing has failed even more on 2 strokes as sometimes the bearing flakes and scorches the whole cylinder :/ but yeah you are right got to do what you got to do cant just be driving to mechanics when you can record. also may i ask what you used to record this ? sound quality is GREAT!!!! hope you get er fixed soon should be an easyish fix :D

    yep, thats why i dont like two strokes, not reliable

  • @jdmbeats
    @jdmbeats2 жыл бұрын

    Is this a common issue? Is it caused by neglect, or thrashing the bike like a a-hole? I've never owned a 2stroke, only 4strokes. So, idk if this is just a problem that 2strokes have.

  • @BrendanDunne94

    @BrendanDunne94

    Motocross bikes are high performance bikes and need regular maintenance (like after every ride) if you run good 2 stroke, are mechanically sympathetic and have so regular maintenance then they can be reliable but don't expect it to last years.. 2 or 4 stroke it doesn't matter.
