সূরা আল হুজুরাত অর্থ বাসগৃহসমূহ মদীনায় অবতীর্ণ আয়াত সংখ্যা ১৮ یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اجۡتَنِبُوۡا کَثِیۡرًا مِّنَ الظَّنِّ ۫ اِنَّ بَعۡضَ الظَّنِّ اِثۡمٌ وَّ لَا تَجَسَّسُوۡا وَ لَا یَغۡتَبۡ بَّعۡضُکُمۡ بَعۡضًا ؕ اَیُحِبُّ اَحَدُکُمۡ اَنۡ یَّاۡکُلَ لَحۡمَ اَخِیۡہِ مَیۡتًا فَکَرِہۡتُمُوۡہُ ؕ وَ اتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ تَوَّابٌ رَّحِیۡمٌ ﴿۱۲﴾ ইয়াআইয়ুহাল্লাযীনা আ-মানুজতানিবূ কাছীরাম মিনাজ্জান্নি ইন্না বা‘দাজ্জান্নি ইছমুওঁ ওয়ালা-তাজাছছাছূওয়ালা-ইয়াছতাব বা‘দুকুম বা‘দান আইউহিব্বু আহাদুকুম আইঁ ইয়া’কুলা লাহমা আখীহি মাইতান ফাকারিহতুমূহু ওয়াত্তাকুল্লা-হা ইন্নাল্লা-হা তাওওয়া-বুর রাহীম। হে মু’মিনগণ! তোমরা বহুবিধ অনুমান হতে দূরে থাক; কারণ অনুমান কোন কোন ক্ষেত্রে পাপ এবং তোমরা একে অপরের গোপনীয় বিষয় অনুসন্ধান করনা এবং একে অপরের পশ্চাতে নিন্দা করনা। তোমাদের মধ্যে কি কেহ তার মৃত ভাইয়ের মাংস ভক্ষণ করতে চায়? বস্তুতঃ তোমরাতো এটাকে ঘৃণাই মনে কর। তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর। আল্লাহ তাওবাহ গ্রহণকারী, পরম দয়ালু। O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting).
