Ever played a chaos flip version of a magic hats deck? You can not only trigger the sarcophagus with it, but also use cards like compulse to search out power spells and traps like pot or graceful or something using the hats and then get them to the hand, when they are on the field as monstets, can evrn recycle them with MOF or mask, can run books, tsukuyomis and also the hats that flip down your flip effect monsters again. Running it with apprentice magicican etc, whole light/dark flip engine, its pretty nice you can make some crazy plays with a flip/chaos/hat control version

Yo thanks for taking the time to type out all the cool interactions with the deck! I usually played Magical Hats in the past with Penguin Soldier, but a Chaos core seems like it’d be much better. I have been wanting to play Flip Control and Magical Hats seems like a fun take on this! You got my thumbs up! I may have to try to make a more optimal list. Real question is… you subbed already? 👀

I’ve never dabbled with the element monsters, but they seem cool and I know one of them is Dragon type…. My look into it!!

It’s nice to see this. I only play Fiend decks. Ever. So of course I messed with Reasoning Gate. I had 2 options for a Lv 5 Fiend. The Lesser Fiend and Mefist the infernal general. Although instead of Giant Germ I actually wanted to try Skull Knight #2 to help with bricking. So if I have a Ha Des in hand and reasoning gives me a SK#2, I can tribute it for Ha Des and summon a new one for deck and maybe tribute it for Gate. It was a fun challenge making RG with fiends.

Very cool list. Was just playing some GOAT with my friends last night, might have to send this to them!

Of course! I subbed a whiile back. There's some really good lvl 5's and 6's in goat. I'm sure Cost Down is possible to abuse some how lol.

I've had internet down for a while, but I was testing relinquished / ter chaos with interdimensional matter transporter to keep sucking things up and blanking BoMs. Would love to see your take on it

I'll try again for the Penguin Soldier hand control. I'm still playing around with it. Thanks for the previous suggestions. I'm wondering if the book of moon at 3 is overkill.

Yo Vincent! Do you have discord? I would love to chat with you about the deck there! As far as Penguin Soldier hand control, idk if you’re running giant trunade, but that’s another great card to set up Heavy Slump especially when combined with Penguin Soldier. You can load up their hand pretty well by bouncing all their back row to hand, and potentially 2 monsters with Penguin. I think 3 book of moon may be overkill. If you play a single copy of Tsuk, 2 book of moons should be enough. Hope this helps!

Any thoughts on adding magical merchant for a solid turn 1 set? Mills your fiends and gets you an extra potential starter. Id replace parsath with one. Its a light and level one for meta and the chaos engine, just sucks to SS from reasoning gate but it can help you reach those cards. A nicer idea would be adding two dark mimic lv 3s, see my other comment.

What about dark mimic lv1/lv3 as great dark fiend monsters for normal summons/sets? Lv 3 specifically is good because you dont mind specialing it with reasoning gate or dim fusion bc it doesnt have to be flipped to get the draw effect. Lv 1 is good with metamorphosis, but it does feel bad to special unless youre able to "level up". Id say 1-2 mimic lv 3 alone would be excellent. Also gives you more plays if you go first or need to hold off the opponent while still plusing. This deck is slower than normal reasoning gate, so having a monster to play turn 1 or at any point in the game that nets you draws and sets up for necrofear would be sick. Its the same level as giant germ, but nobody is calling level 3 off of reasoning lol

Yeah I opted for BLS to have another way of putting monsters into the banish pile, and honestly, Sacred Crane/BLS just put in too much work in reasoning gate to not include them. I just needed a way to make Fiends as playable as possible 👌🏽

Have you tried running Lava Golem in this? Also a Fiend, can't be SS'd, Snatch Steal *and* Brain Control target, etc.

Hey derrosenkavalier, I actually did an earlier draft with Lava Golem. You know the goat format card pool really well man kudos to you! My rationale for not including it is that Necrofear already has such an awkward summoning requirement that needs to be fulfilled in order to summon her. Lava Golem is much the same way, you need your opponent to have 2 monsters, and you have to hope you have a Brain Con or Snatch to combo as well since nothing we run has 3K atk. So you’d have to rely on the 2 copies of Snatch/Brain Con or like lightning vortex/Gatling Dragon to out the Lava Golem. He’s super spicy though considering you can mill him and potentially SS him with DFu/Prema/Call if he was SSd correctly. Just felt like overall he was a little too unwieldy to summon and could be another brick in hand lol

@@skilledbrownmagician2301 Heh, Lava Golem's just one of my favorite cards. This is also the only retro format in which Necrofear is even playable and when combined with Golem, makes a Marik x Bakura deck (lol). I'm delighted to hear that you did in fact playtest a Golem-inclusive build and your constructive criticism re:usage of the card. I'd also say that the popularity of anti-burn cards in many sides (namely Mystic Wok and Des Wombat) due to the contemporary prevalence of Panda Burn makes Golem much less playable in modern Goat than he was back in '05. But I also think of him as grave fuel for Necrofear (although you *can't* get him back with DFusion if he wasn't first summoned, huge bummer) and potential wildcard disruption depending on the matchup. I was inspired by a *highly* similar build that I found on Discord created by TheNano (imgur.com/a/R2GpDNP) which used the Abyss Soldier + Sinister Serpent engine to control your opponent's board and repeatedly bounce Golem. He also included triple Aqua Spirit to mill with Reasoning. Honestly, I took a look at some highly competitive decks in Goat and really didn't care for them. Fiend Reasoning Gate/Necrofear Return is the only semi-meta deck in the format that I truly care for and want to make work, so I'm glad to see it getting some love and refinement.

@@skilledbrownmagician2301 It's Pot of Greed except you have to banish all the cards on your field and in your hand as a cost, and you need at least 1 card in each so at minimum you're banishing 2 cards to draw 2
