I'm the guy that lost to Volcanic Counter at 12:53 I indeed was not aware of that Card being in the GY. During the Turn I even used Called by the Grave on a Different Monster wich was a huge misplay. GG's Sam we are now 1:1. I hope we get a 3rd match on ranked one Day

Same for Cloudians and Iron Chain

A lot of the monsters have original names that allude to guns too (Shell is Bullet, Scattershot is Buckshot, Hammerer is Hammer etc) Even the newer one Rimfire is based off of rimfire ammo

And all this came from 1 guy dedication

One of the weirdest Yu-Gi-Oh archetypes I've seen were the Gunkan Archetype. These sushi looking monsters that double as battleships, and are primarily Aqua Type, Fire Attribute monsters. I do hope that they get a video one day.

That archetype is silly AF and it always makes me laugh when someone is playing it. Makes me feel like Konami could get away with making a card out of absolutely anything and any random object

Before anyone asks, Mrs Fontaine/Fonda Faintaine was the actual person to use Bonfire in a duel, she used it to add Burning Algae and then used Magical Stone Excavation to add it back and use it again for another Burning Algae

The funny thing about Volcanic Wall is that when Axel uses it in Duel Links, he refers to it as a continuous trap not a continuous spell which is weird.

This archetype always caught my attention and so did the duelist who played this.

6:09 “If you’ve not been interrupted” I can’t imagine any Yugioh player (MD or DL) claiming they’ve managed to get through a first turn with any archetype without being interrupted in some way.

Or very unlucky with hand traps. This combo hit almost all the triggers. Banish graveyard, searches, niberu etc

The other time Bonfire was used in GX was the Nurse when she was a Duel Ghoul. Speaking of, I pulled a Bonfire once on my first-ever pack from Maze of Millennia.

I remember building this archetype deck when I was younger. This was so badass and I loved Axel from the anime. The new support that it’s getting is well deserved!

The ruling is because of “Volcanic Blaze Accelerator”. You can only control one on your field. So “Volcanic Rimfire” needs to check to see if it has another target, because it doesn’t taking into consideration that it’ll remove the “Volcanic Blaze Accelerator” before placing a new blaze accelerator. Albeit different a different, it’s quite similar to the “Lightsworn Lumina” can’t summon from grave, without a Lightsworn already being there, even though you’re going to pitch a Lightsworn from hand to activate the effect.

I do love Volcanic Shell in my Super Quant deck, as it's very useful discard fodder for a deck that needs to perform at least three discards to summon its boss monster. So having a card that can replace itself in the hand, and it's not a once per turn, is pretty great.

I wish there could be a Volcanic Fusion Monster that has Volcanic Doomfire as one of its Fusion Materials. It would be so cool if the Volcanic Archetype had at least one Fusion Monster.

I’m not interested in them having any extra deck monsters of their own. Why because that’s not their game plan. It feels out of place to me and makes no sense. I rather Volcanics stick to main deck. Adding generic extra deck cards is fine but I don’t want it.

Axel was a cool character in Season 03 and 04. A man of action. 💯

The other person who actually used bonfire was the school nurse in GX, who played against Jaden with the Nurse Burn deck

Blaze Cannon being a Blaze Accelerator card is still wild to me.

Pretty sure it's a translation thing. Like Blaze Accelerator being originally named "Blaze Cannon" in Japanese. So because Ra's signature attack in the anime (and now the actual game) is called Blaze Cannon, that card is linked to the archetype by name alone. Like a reverse Guardian situation where the Guardian archetype would specifically list exceptions like Celtic Guardian because Celtic Guardian is only a Guardian in the romanized TCG; in Japanese, he is Elf Swordsman. Or cards like Summoned Skull and Axe of Despair getting text later signifying them as Archfiend cards because Archfiend in Japan is Daemon and those original card names are Summoned Daemon/Daemon Summon and Daemon Axe.

So much fun seeing this after having watched you stream the deck! Here’s hoping for a retrain of Volcanic Queen as well to help round out the archetype just a little bit more!

Favorite archetype I’ve ever played. One of the few reasons I still play Duel Links is the ability to help execute the deck.

One of my friends and i randomly created a volcanic fusion boss monster. Its name was volcanic overlord.

Please go over Trueman vs O'Brien, it's one of the most emotional duels in the franchise.

7:35 you need to have a differently named BLAZE ACCEL card in your deck because VOLCANIC BLAZE ACCEL states in its effect "you can only control 1 VOLC BLAZE ACCEL" , which means that as long as it is on the field, if there's no other blaze accel card witha different name in your deck, you can't try to activate rimfire since you can't attempt to control 2 VOLC BLAZE ACCEL

I do like Volcanic Queen though. I found some fun with her in Drytron. Her "Unable to be Normal Summoned/Set" actually matters to Drytron since it actually allows her to be used as a "Kaiju" for them, as if you actually summon one of the actual Kaiju in Drytron it would completely shut down the Drytron effects. Plus Volcanic Queen also has an interesting thing of being the *weakest* of the Kaiju-esc monsters. So you just summon Volcanic Queen in Defense to make it incredibly easy to beat over. So converting an opponent's monster into a "Vanilla" 1200 Defender is quite a changeover.

Just when I'm about to build a volcanic deck. Your timing is absolutely perfect.

It's one of my alltime favourite archetypes in Yugioh. I love the fact, it got support after about 15 years.

Ah yes a deck can't be a good modern deck unless it can completely stop your opponent from playing the game

I loved the Volcanics before the Support and when I heard they were getting more Support, I was unsure if the Support was needed, but after playing the new Cards, I absolutely LOVED THEM. Great inclusions to the Deck. Btw, do you remember the Replay I sent you and you watched where the Opponent defeated themselves with 2 Counters in the Grave? I was hoping you'd use that for your Opponent winning the Game for you when they didn't know what Counter did example, but I'm very happy it actually happened to you. Also, a bit of a correction, Slicer doesn't stop your entire Battle Phase, it's just THAT Card can't attack the turn you use it. It's best to use that Effect when you're going first or when you plan on using it for an Xyz or Link Summon. There are also some of your opinions that I disagree with and some that I didn't even think of, but they're all very minor and I think would be a waste of time typing them. All in all, I'm so happy that you're covering a Deck that's now near and dear to my Heart. What great additions to the Deck, but I do hope that the Supports stop here, because they don't need anymore imo.

Well now ya gotta add the duel between Axel and Truman to your list after this. It’s quite the dark duel

For Volcanic Queen, you can use it as an endgame finisher. Summon it to your opponent's field, activate a card that returns cards to their original owner like "Owner's Seal", then attack.

17:00 evenly matched is also dead essentially, with minimal play ofc.

No joke when Yu-Gi-oh first came out I tried to make an exclusively Fire Deck since there were no Fire Type users in the anime at the time, even buying Fire type monsters from a guy at my middle school during assemblies and gym class. But I stopped caring about Yu-Gi-oh as much around the time GX started, thus missed out on Volanics.

With how meh, or not worth using V. Queen is, I'm surprised there isn't an upgraded form. Make it: Volcanic Empress. Same lv. As the og, 500 more Atk & Def, and still allow it Kaiju onto your opponents field, but once it's summoned it destroys all other monsters on your opponents field, them create 1 bomb token for each destroyed monster. And at the end of the opponents turn, this card deals 500 DMG per bomb token on the field. And just to make it even meaner, it can't be tributed away or be destroyed by spell/traps. (Preventing the opponent to get rid of it easily, it still can be sent to gy, and affected by monster effects)

Honestly soulburning volcano is one of my favorite packs because it made mediocre archetypes that couldn’t even get passed rogue, into actual rogue decks with combos. And some salamangreat support which is always nice

Rescue-ace is not pyro, just fire. Recharge is Good-ish, it allows you to get back your resources.

The funny thing is people saying volcanics wasn't good back in the day never play it against me at my I was beating everyone with my volcanic deck left and right people that Top big tournaments used it for a long time until XYZ came out because then Gravity Bind level limited A and they wasn't cutting it anymore to use that challenge they wasn't good anymore because the XYZ was a thing still fun deck it was but don't miss any of the big tournaments with it because I didn't have a license at the time but good times

I have a feeling that the original line would see marginally more play if they doubled the damage they inflicted, to reflect the anime 4k vs irl 8k. Nothing meta breaking, but still interesting concept ^^

I had some great success using the originals in duel links. When i was using them, there was strong anti attack to the point i was sick of it. With the damage still not adjusted at that time, burning 4000 with the volcanics was easy

I was totally surprised when i saw the new video and immidiately watched it. I like the volcanic archetype very much and just love the new support. But `m a little sad that they didn`t gave my little buddy volcanic rat a retrained version as well. He deserves to be a part of that archetype. If someone sees that like I do, please give the little cute rat an effect.

I think my favorite version of Volcanic that I played was being able to get out I:P, x2 Emperor's, and a Baronne. Right now though, it's 4 Mat Appo, x2 Emperor, and TD Colossus.

I waited so long for these cards in MD, and it's so much fun and so powerful my worst hands still end on promethian princess duelittle chimera and doomfire

I actually went undefeated at a few locals with a budget volcanic deck not too long ago. Meta decks are just not built to handle burn strategies

Fun Fact in my Super Quant deck I use in Master Duel and Duel Link i Run 3 Volcanic Shells as it helps in tandem with the Super Quant field spell as if I have 3 Layers in my hand i go Special Red, Normal Green use Green's summon effect to Special Blue use Blue to either grab a MagnaSlayer trap or another layer if I have Magnaslayer already, then Use Magna Carrier's effect to discard Shell to get a Mech Beast onto the field use Shell's effect to grab another from my deck then repeat until I got the 3 Mech Beasts onto the field use the second effect of Magna Carrier to get Great Magnus onto the field with 6+ Overlay Units having all 3 of his effects active plus with Magna Slayer he gets 1200 attack with the piercing and MultiAttacks available to me it really is a fun way to play

I actually really like their art, I used to play them casually.
