I like watching Paul look at cards because he's a lot more optimistic about a card's potential, probably because he has a group that plays off meta stuff. Sometimes I get tired of other players just calling any card they don't want "trash"

That's what annoys me about magic the gathering players. Any card that isn't meta or top tier is instantly considered garbage and useless

@@radiantyipee7299 I understand that competitive people are only interested in competing but yes you're correct that they shouldn't shame cards that aren't the hot new thing. This is a game with over 10,000 game pieces. How limiting it must be to only focus on the next most competitive set of 40 - 60 cards! That's why I feel like Master Duel, while it's cool AF including most of the cards from the rip, should also have an augmenting legacy mode like Duel Links did back in the day. I used to LOVE Duel Links when I could play basic beatdown again and win things like I was playing in the early 2000s hah.

I definitely think they change Nash to Mako for this pack cause more people know who Mako is then they do Nash which, is kinda sad to think about when a character important to ZEXAL like Shark and Nash, is not as well known as a character that only appeared in the original series TWICE

Either that means not many new fans are getting into Yugioh or it means the TCG player base comprises of mainly older Yugioh fans.

I got 10 packs over the weekend without looking what was in the set, i just knew it was a new release. Got some pretty decent pulls but overall this set isnt anything im dying to play.

I've opened a lot of Vanguard so I'm much more used to the set ratios for rarities. As their method of adding spice to the packs they usually include holo versions of Commons and Rares at random and even the SP or two... though only one box per set gets the DSR which I've only gotten 2 in Overdress so far. Also speaking of which I'm so used to my water creature based cards either being multiattackers or board reposition shenanigans that it's weird hearing the average yugioh effects go with them.

These cards look fun. I remember trying to make a mako character deck for a battle city tournament with my friends and mako didn't have the best cards. Besides normal monsters which were bad, his best cards were legendary ocean, tornado wall and torrential tribute but that was about it

I find it pretty telling on Konami’s lack of awareness when they print a set involving water and Umi based cards, without Umi ….. 😂

I feel like (aside from getting 3 of structure decks) Konami is terrified of releasing a product where one can put a good deck together WITHOUT pulling from multiple other sets hah

I prefer having guarantee ratios if I am buying a box. I remember vanguard use to have like minimum 3 RRR per box or something like that. I havent played or touched vanguard since 2012-2013 though.

I do like anime character themed decks. Mako Tsunami is one of my favorite characters in Yu-Gi-Oh love his deck but it took quite a bit of time before all his signature cards are available. Love this booster pack. But I rather see the Legendary fisherman as a ghost rare that would be cool.

@@LordDuddy77 What else could they add thou weve got a recharging monster negate and easy ways to bring it out, an exclusive hand trap that can recycle itself back to the hand or into a rank 5 that can be searched and a monster that can turn into any Chronomaly we want. Sure the deck will never be meta like in the OCG but thats fine

I'm honestly a huge fan of this set despite it not being particularly meta-relevant. Been a fan of water strategies since I was a kid clapping up my friends with Levia-Dragon Daedalus and A Legendary Ocean. Marincess and Shark/Kragen Control are probably rogue playable now which is nice. And the Umi deck with the new cards is funny as hell and a perfect choice for some fun jank to take to locals.

I think the UR ratio is higher for this set, I bought 3 blister packs (6 packs altogether) at Wal-Mart last week and got 4 Ultras out of them in all

I know this is a month late, but I typically try to keep it at 40. For some decks though, I take it to 45, and I think my Dragon deck is like 53 60 cards is possible, you just gotta have a really good search engine or you’ll brick all the time
