I work with about 15 south American fellers. I don't want to say I'm their boss, as without them I would be essentially nothing. About half of them are from everywhere south of Mexico (from Guatemala all the way to a Venezuelan). I visited the 2 of the guys families in Mexico. Went to a baseball game in Culiacán (absolutely awesome-more of a party than sport), Also got to see the old architecture, and some 18th century cathedrals. The awesome place was chihuahua. Saw everything from a 1000ft waterfall, canyons better than grand, prehistoric stuff, and we rode some dunes as well. Its beautiful, and it wasn't as tense seeming. Drives were BRUTAL. I don't think i would do Culiacán without the boys though. I don't think I would go anywhere south of Mexico with any of them though. Like those dudes don't even go home EVER.

I cant imagine what the poor Haitian people are thinking seeing an American there as a tourist to film content for social media, and hang out with gangs, having a few beers, while their families are being killed, and they are in turmoil, yet no one is coming to really help, but rather to film a yt video.

this happened to my father (we’re Haitian American) about two years ago and unfortunately because he was on a green card and not a citizen, we had to actually pay a ransom. It baffled my friends and family that it happened and I think the problem that’s going on in Haiti should have more light shed upon it. It’s a beautiful country with a great history just a lot of corruption running rampant.

The rival gang kidnapped him because they felt disrespected by him requesting to interview BBQ. By him going to try and interview BBQ it was like he was saying that BBQ and his gang were the most powerful, and that was giving him them the respect that the rival gang felt they deserved. This was what my friend in Haiti told me was being said there. Before the kidnapping happened the word was that it was a msg that they were the top gang in charge. They supposedly were just showing him that they had more power and it's said that they weren't planning on harming him, as long as he have them the respect they deserved. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Looks like he did because the word spread was that, after they realized he had health issues (which they learned from the media he didn't tell them) they did let him go. That's so crazy to me.

The way the vlogger talked about it was extremely disrespectful and you'd think they may bother to learn about different cultures when visiting, rather than assuming it's some 'disgusting' thing. Ah well, not everyone can be a curious, respectful person (yes I am very mad at his words rn). However, while it was rude, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that if they knew what it was, they'd genuinely understand.

According to United Nations data-gathering, the famine situation in Afghanistan has actually worsened significantly since 2021. Aid groups which depended on donations were able to help provide humanitarian relief for a few months after the US left the country; however, only a few months later, the groups began to regularly struggle to keep up the same level of provisions. Other organizations were afraid to keep workers on the ground under Taliban rule and subsequently canceled their operations and left the country. Some aid groups have run out of donations entirely. Many countries don’t give aide to Afghanistan or grant permits to NGO’s to provide humanitarian aid largely because of the Taliban‘s refusal to legitimize and secure women’s rights in the country 😢

Oompaville, I love that you cover the topic of these youtubers. And I understand and agree that it is mostly not journalism, and just a quick and easy content grab. BUT. That being said, Bald and Bankrupt has been doing this for many many years now. And he is actually covering a lot of the local history, the importance of events in the are, how the local residents are doing, and what they are up to. He is in a league of his own when it comes to creating engaging content with the local people, and I dont think he deserves to be compared with these other youtubers. I’m sure Haiti was once a beautiful country. Before they cut down 99% of their forests 😢. My source NASA. Using NASA satellite imagery to analyze the landscape, Hedges and his colleagues found the country has only about one percent of its primary forest left, as people have been cutting down trees to farm and to make charcoal for cooking. “People working in Haiti could see there was very little forest left,” he said.

When you read the fine print, you don't actually own the land (it's a souvenir plot), and it's just a joke. So no, he didn't purchase the right to legally call himself a Lord. That said, he still can call himself a Lord, just as any of us can, because there is no law that prohibits it. So he could have done that with or without the gag gift purchase, as anybody who feels like it can call themself a Lord, despite the fact that they won't really be one.

I don't know about y'all but with all these gang leaders nicknames I wouldn't be surprised if there was a gang leader called lone mower or something like that

I like watching Tommy G spend time with gangs or go to the deadliest cities. He tends to shine a different light on the gangs though and shows the humanity with these guys who are just trying to grind and get out. Alot of the gang members want to improve the community too.

If they were trying to get out they wouldn’t join a gang they’d get a job. Simple as that.
