I'm a democrat, but I remember eating up all the anti SJW stuff back in the day, and as I grew and matured I realized that its just people complaining about people complaining and that it was all just a waste of time. It is low effort rage bait, and with today's political polarization, people eat that up. It seems today people need something to hate in the moment and if they don't have one, they go look for one.

I'm right there with you. I'm a conservative as well, but I think for myself, and am able to freely discuss how toxic a lot of the things that many of these big names say. And I find that the more famous many of them get the more aggressive, and conspiratorial they become (on both sides). Nothing is ever going to get better if we keep moving further and further away from having open, honest, respectful discussions. More and more I start to consider myself adrift on the political spectrum.

yeah unfortunately conservatives have this innate propensity to just do the absolute bare minimum "im a part of the team" effort level. The vast majority of conservative rhetoric on the internet is purely rage bait that means nothing, and people eat it right up. It's a fundamental problem in the conservative party right now.

@@Skarlett.Rose.Ink. yeah no i have to disagree with you there. The republican party in particular is extremely ingrained into talking points, the entirety of their rhetoric is based on talking points, it's so heavily based on talking points that their talking points don't even mean anything, the sheet act of engaging in the talking point is more impactful than the point itself. There are some similar things on the democrat side. people will repeat things verbatim without knowing the accuracy of it for example, but the difference here is that they either believe it, or are mad about it, and thus feel the need to spread it. The vast majority of democrat talking points however are not actually talking points, and are more closely related to actual concepts and ideas. They just happen to be repeated similarly fairly often as a result of democrats being democrats and liking those values. It's absolutely a human issue, but to claim that it's equivalent across both sides shows that you have no knowledge of how the political parties work whatsoever.

So, conservative here, and as someone who 'used' to watch LWC, yeah, the dude went totally insane. From what I can see happened, he had a massive health scare, (he almost died in the process a couple of times.) and following that it kinda really f*cked him up. He became a 'massive' control freak, more than usual, and due to ongoing health concerns, as someone who is obviously very control oriented, it threw his entire life off balance and he couldn't recover from it, he became unhinged and mentally unwell. Its kinda sad to see. I hope he gets the mental help he obviously needs, but sadly, as a mental health professional, people with egos like his very rarely seek help.

"My wife left me. Change her mind." Interesting point that I heard about Crowder and his wife's situation... the argument that they're having is a result of them only having one car. Crowder is wealthy, and it would be very easy for them to afford to have two cars... but they have one car, which is why they're having this argument about who's allowed to use the car. The point made was, this is most likely controlling behaviour on Crowder's part. Two cars would mean that she has freedom that he does not want her to have. Normally I would say it was a reach, but given the way he talks to her, I can absolutely believe that he would structure his whole world around what allows him to maintain control over her.

Remove the red tape for fracking permits while investing in R&D for cleaner, more reliable and affordable methods of energy production. For foreign affairs, I’m an isolationist for the most part, though I’m not against sending humanitarian aid. Immigration is probably one issue that makes me the most bitter - Modernize the legal process to make legal immigration more efficient. Build the wall. On taxation, simplify it by creating a flat tax. I believe in gun rights and our 2nd amendment. On social issues, the Federal government should play no role in it other than ensuring state leaders are Constitutionally compliant. Spend 12 billion dollars to keep out mexicans isnt wasteful spending? Why not double it and build a northern wall too? It sounds like you don’t have any concrete moral principals to guide your politics. You sound like a libertarian socialist for the most part, especially if you looked further into how different levels of government work together or apart. Some of your opinions are even just misinformed. Like theres basically no red tape holding back oil companies. Bidens admin have approved more fracking permits than anyone before him. Being smart, compassionate and well tempered is true masculinity. Treating others with respect, no matter who they are, having strong principles and sticking by them, having a confident and composed demeanor and tacking problems with solutions. Not sitting wide legged with a cigar and crying to your pregnant wife about how boxed in and restricted you, a multi-millionaire, are. I'm not sure what gender you are, but let me explain masculinity. It can be muscles, guns, tattoos, and sitting wide-legged with a cigar. All the bad behaviors you mention have nothing to do with masculinity, they're awful human behaviors. Masculinity/manhood is however the man chooses to be, within simple parameters. He takes care of himself, his responsibilities, and his family, and does not mind or mess around in others' business. Men and women need to be told this, as people who go on longer than this lecturing "real" masculinity/manhood need to learn to mind their own business. @@TheQWER9 Actually it is less common these days. Nowadays, because more people are obtaining financial independence on their own and are obtaining education, and because they are taking more time before marriage (dating, then cohabitating, for years before tieing the knot), the divorce rate is lower and marital satisfaction is higher than with previous generations. Previously, people got married on a whim, or because they were forced to do so. Many were forced to stay married despite being miserable or abused. So it was VERY common in the olden days (boomer generation and beyond) for relationships to go awry. This kind of phenomenon still happens among right-wing and religious relationships because, again, they jump into relationships for the sake of having one, without actually loving or respecting anybody, or befriending their partner, or doing any of these things that other demographics tend to go through before they get married. Also, right-wingers and uber-religious people have a strong tendency to be narcissists. The reason it seems to be a problem these days is because the Internet had made it easier than ever to organise into groups and spread hate for everyone outside said group.

Then you’re being disingenuous. Change My Mind was a brilliant setup and it featured Crowder at his best. He wasn’t trying to be edgy and loud like his show, and was respectful to the students and others who participated. Change My Mind also was a great example of discourse that is sorely lacking in the present. Like all people, Crowder is a mixed bag. Unfortunately, he has personal issues that are unresolved - more likely, driven by ego from his success - which not only hurt those around him but sunk his career and essentially ended Change My Mind. Crowder should go offline and get himself in order, but I suspect his ego couldn’t tolerate it so he will cling on, falling deeper into bitterness from his self-inflicted wounds.

Unless he is willing to take full responsibility for how he portrayed himself in that video, in addition to taking responsibility as to how and why his marriage fell apart, I just have no sympathy for the guy. Divorce is wrong. Abuse victims should certainly seek immediate safety from their abusers, and that can mean separation, even indefinitely. But the purpose of making a legal commitment to be with someone for life is that it's binding even when we feel like leaving. His issue is not his views on marriage, but the fact that he lied to his audience that she left him when he actually abandoned her, cut her off from "his" money, and hired divorce lawyers while she was trying to keep the marriage together.

  • @Sweatybaseballs

The biggest misconception in this video was the segment on these comments. People are wrongly interpreting them as women can’t initiate divorce when in reality it’s against the entire concept of no fault divorce. Many conservatives believe you shouldn’t divorce someone simply because you don’t like each other anymore. They believe it is a commitment from both man and wife till the end of their lives and everything should be done in an attempt to stay together. He was saying this to imply that Hillary wanted a no fault divorce to show he was not abusive or that she had no reason other than wanting to be single to initiate the divorce. This was before the ring footage I believe. Crowder nor any prominent group on the planet believes women should be locked in to a marriage simply because they are a woman. They just believe divorce should be much rarer and the threshold for what constitutes a divorce is higher than simply “we grew a part”.

No .. that would be the SJW era. . in which the anti SJW people were a small minority that every media org labaled as far right extremist even though a lot of them were just fans of properties that were being ruined by ideologues and people who weren't comfortable with bio men in women's spaces. But if you didn't agree with even the smallest cancel culture / sjw idea then you were also a fascist and basically worse than crowder even. We are NOW .. actually slowly entering the anti sjw era, where the pendulum has switched back and companies are on their knees because no matter what people think in their own bubbles. The great majority of people were not behind the sjw/woke ideology and push. So the companies started losing money. And properties got ruined irrepairably. And companies successfully got boycotted .. which finally shook up the DEI/ESG obsessed corporate America. Even a lot of the people who took part in the cancel culture stuff and etc are now claiming they had no part in it and condemning it, finally understanding their ultra radical ideas ended up doing having the opposite effect, giving the far right ammo and pushing people right.

I want to thank Stephen for helping me realize my bf was abusing me. That's 6 years down the drain. He has CPTSD and over time he used it to have a reason to abuse me, tell me I don't do anything right, neglect me when I went through less difficult things than I have helped him through. He blamed me for our problems, yelling nasty things at me because I sat down on the back stairs to read a book while he was on his phone, not that he wouldn't go to therapy, or couple's therapy, or really apologize/ regret anything he did wrong. And he would block me if I so much as upset him even if it was about something he did, was avoiding, it was night and day from the beginning to the end. It's really terrible that he literally cultivates only the kind of friendships where they would never call him out, pretends he is so nice. It's sickening and it reinforced the false idea I was the problem and isolated me. He literally cultivated an environment of distaste around me with his friends, many of which are mutual including my gd sister. I told a mutual friend about his abuse and he asked him about and he said he just deflected. Of course. I heard her say 'Stephen, your abuse is sick' in my head over and over until I listened. No, he doesn't love her. I don't think he knows what love is.

But to my knowledge no one has. Obviously there's still a chance that he's editing stuff and it just didn't get caught, but at this time I'm leaning heavily on the side of it actually being uncut interviews. Also, I agree with Oompah on about 90% of his video, but there are some key details from the LWC response video that he leaves out. I don't think either side in all of this is 100% in the right. He’s literally using their talking points: - “I picked wrong” - “my wife chose to leave” - “in this state wives are allowed to leave their husbands” - “despite my love for her she left me”. I used to watch him daily. Now, I can’t stand him.

I really do wonder why political commentators so often end up going more extreme, you take the average left or right wing citizen and they'd probably be a normal functional person with few if any extreme ideas one way or another, but political commentators might start as a calm left or right winger, but over time they seem to always move to more of an extreme.

Nope. I was an actual MugClubber before all this came out, but I never thought he was funny. I liked his political commentary and he managed to do a little investigative journalism, but humor? Not really. I think he just insists on the "commedy" label to avoid criticisms that would come from calling himself a "journalist" or political analyst or something. He was always saying, "I'm just a comedian," to avoid critique and to look like the underdog in comparison to Mainstream Media. Also, I think he's one of those guys who *thinks* he's funny even when he's not, and just keeps insisting on beating that horse for his own ego.

I am no expert on divorce and I am not defending Crowder. As I said, I stopped watching his channel. However, from what I understand on the subject of divorce, some places have rules about when it can happen. In those places, NEITHER PARTY can sue for divorce without certain criteria, for instance infidelity, or a domestic violence pattern. I don't think we should judge from that single private moment. There seemed to be more background implied during the exchange. However, I'm glad she is able to leave the marriage if that is what she wants. No one should have to put up with the behavior in the video if they don't want to. It does seem very common in marriages today though. I guess that's partly why there is a 50% divorce rate. I just retired from law enforcement. I have seen much of the same and much worse.
