It doesn't work this way anymore. Any changes apply instantly. However, the feature itself is broken. I see "Translate to [main language]" under any comments in other languages regardless. And yes, I've waited for a long time (a few weeks) for some changes to apply, but nothing happens. Everything that could have been applied was applied instantly, and waiting is now useless.

The translation button only appears in some comments and it's to a language I dont even speak.., It wasnt like this before. Thank you this for this video it helped a lot idk why it changed suddenly

I'm glad that your video is helping me so much. I have the same case like this 3 times. Idk why the translation button didn't appear when the comments is not in English language. Sometimes the translations is off, but sometimes it comes back normal as usual.

For some reason, I prefer comments to be translated to English even though I am Filipino. I just find it weird to read to foreign comments translated into Tagalog. I just followed your tip. I hope this one helps. Thank you in advance!

Auto-translating of commentaries is very good thing, that googol so rarely add to youtube. Also, if you jump to comment from notification badge, translation in unknown reason is disabled, and then I should open the video and see an answer to my comment under video.
