YOu can see that once you tap the bucket tool, there's a settings icon below it^^ 2) You can also adjust the sharpness of the edges and opacity of your brush WITHOUT going there manually ToT Please... just go the tap right corner and tap the one with the hands. As someone who used autodesk sketchbook for years, it pained me so much that you missed the eraser tool, it’s the icon with the white nib in the sidebar! 😭😭😭 (Ngl I don’t blame you for not finding it, it’s pretty subtle) (Also I am ashamed to say it, but it was Justin Bieber, my aunt still teases me to this day)

this is a great video but i think you should've done more research on how to use the apps and spent some time experimenting with the tools before doing the final drawings. As someone who tried most of these with a pencil and even a finger when I couldn't afford a pencil and procreate, I find these reviews extremely lacking. or maybe you just don't have enough skill set to get better work on different apps. nevertheless, cool idea! would love to see an updated version sometime in the future.

no seriously. i was yelling so loud seeing them fumbling the apps for the most basic things 😐 the eraser in sketchbook is literally so easy to see, i'm surprised they didn't notice it considering they seem to care more about interface than actual drawing experience because how the actual hell does ART STUDIO an app that literally DELETES UR DRAWING if u exit the app get rated higher than medibang paint (which just has a slightly crowded interface)?????? 😭😭

5:16 a tip for people who plan to use ibis paint, you can actually edit the strength of the bucket tool and it’s expansion rate by simply tapping on the bucket then tapping the settings logo on the bottom right corner :)

i know it’s hard to think this is a good review when there’s so many features you just don’t know about for all the programs

I use Ibis paint and also I'm not sure if you thought you had to watch an ad for each brush but you don't got to! You just got to watch one ad an get all brushes! Edit: damn 70 likes that's the most likes I've ever had-

As somebody that used to have Art Set, it definitely does let you alter things like brush sizes! Top left in the menu at 20:41 it says "size 10%", you drag that wheel to the right to increase it (and left to decrease).

I’ve been using Artbook for a bit now, it was my first real access to digital art so I had to learn a lot of things all at once. You sound like you have done a lot of digital art before this (im new to your channel) so your experience is very different to what mine was. It looks like you have the pre update version so it’s a little different to how mine looks now. You kinda have to “break in” the tools to get everything laid out as you want it. That bar at the top with the different brushes and colours can actually be really helpful if you are making a drawing with a lot of different textures and shading. You can also organize your brushes into groups. Im not entirely sure what a clipping mask is but there is a mask feature.

Ibis paint does a have pen pressure / stabilizer tool on the right corner in the hand icon , it also had the animation function.

10:32 That “weird color pallet” you’re talking about in the app Artbook those slots are actually used for picking a different brush and color, so you don’t forget which brushes or colors you used. Also If you wanted to change the color of the line you can click on the layer you drew the line art on and then you’ll see an “Alpha lock” option it’ll help you change the color real quick, just pick your color and scribble around the screen and when you’re done just click on the layer then alpha lock again. Hope this helps😭 If you’re confused lmk (I’m not really good at explaining things😭🙏🏽)

As a medians user, you can use alpha lock to change lineart, and for the liquify just turn up the size for smudge/finger, there's also settings to change the pixilation, you probably have the setting on and that's why

It was a cool idea on paper but its not very useful for comparisons. Id do whatever the hell she did in this video alongside like, a sketch of a hand so that you can compare at the end.

Hi! as a sketchbook user, the quick shortcut for undoing is laggy - however, the actual button usually has little to no lag. there are two erasers in the basic (default) set; you can find them as the 9th and 10th brushes on the basic set - they are also right next to the Smudge brush. You can also set brushes to layer modes, and that includes some other options like erasers. Options like smudge, glow, linear burn, multiply, etc are available. I will say, though, that some really nice features are locked to the Premium bundle (additional 2 layer modes, layer grouping, brush import and exporting, and more), and that is a flaw. I'd guess that the main reason is probably because an independent company bought Sketchbook from Autodesk, and a team that is not as big is currently developing the app (+ the desktop version)

4:56 for this con I think it depends on your device I use 2032 by 2032 canvas size and it’s not even slow maybe because it’s not that big but even when I put a bigger canvas size it’s the same so maybe it depends on device (I’m on an iPad) For the con regarding not many brushes you only have to watch an ad once and it will allow access to all the brushes. You can also use brushes made by other ppl. Hope this helps!

Quick correction as someone who uses sketchbook: if you tap the icon on the top of the brush bar (the one that displays your current brush) you get a MUCH larger menu, where you can also find two different erasers. Its in the "basic brushes" category or something similar.

Most apps don’t let you drag the color to fill things in or change the line art color. For example on ibisPaint I make a new layer, set it to clipping, and then I color over the line art.

You can also turn on alpha lock (next to the clipping option) for the line art layer and then you'll only be able to colour in the lineart no extra layers necessary :)

I first discovered your channel at the beginning of June and your artwork is very impressive😻✍️, I definitely love how you challenge yourself to create art as well.

I used sketchbook for so long and it look me an embarrassing amount of time to find the eraser😭 They have it set up with the other brushes on the sidebar and they have two different ones, but nothing tells you they’re erasers. I had to go through every brush to find it!!!

for 5:14, you can adjust the paint bucket setting by tapping on the gear button then adjusting the expansion! as for the pen pressure, you can go into settings (arrow pointing left in lower right corner, settings) then go down to pressure sensitivity and then you can adjust that!

As an artist who uses Medibang Paint on mobile, It is better in every way compared to that version of medibang. They used to not have canvas ads, and only show an ad every few times you save, but a couple months ago they added canvas ads which lags out the program a lot, and causes tons of crashes. I still use it because it's just what I'm used to tho

As a person who uses Artbook, if you click "Creat mask" Its a clipping mask. The reason it only fills one color is because its pixely, you can use create mask or alpha lock to change the lineart color

At 1:12 the eraser in sketchbook is actually along with the brushes. Its the one that has white head so u basically have soft and hard eraser for some reason but anyways great video :D (its with the legacy brushes i think but im not sure 😅)

You can turn a brush into an eraser using the colour tool.

Dude I’m so sorry about Medibang- That was my main drawing app for years until I switched to the PC version. And you can change the line art color with the Alpha Lock!

Autodesk Sketchbook's simplicity is what I love most about it :) Most other drawing apps overwhelm me with features and brushes that I just never end up using, and not having many helps me get more creative with how I draw. Then again, I started my art journey with just a paper and a pencil, and Sketchbook is the closest to that I've found digitally I think the rating is fair, though I did notice the interface is a little different on my version (the erase tool is called transparent color for me and shares the features of whatever brush you're using)

AHH! i’m an adobe fresco user and i was very excited to see you try the app. (a bit scared though because i didn’t want it to get a bad rating😅) but i’ve also tried almost all of these apps and adobe just worked the best for me! i like haven’t seen anyone else using it though😭 im so happy you enjoyed it!

For Sketchbook I think that the eraser is in the pens section and is the one with a more nubby point, but Idk tho 1:12 For Ibispaints pressure control, there is an adjustment in the button "dynamics" when you go into the brushes menu/settings. You can change the pressure-opasity and pressure-width.

I use Ibis paint and even without watching ads to unlock all the brushes I'm happy with it. It has clipping mask, layer modes, bucket can be modified, unlimited layers, nice tools. You can even modify basics tools. Only cons are that you can't import images for inspiration only set image as background.

I used Adobe Fresco (as that's the only art app I can access) and I'm so glad it's being recognized! It's usually hard to find videos of people using the app. And it's quite amazing for a completely free app! (Except for a few paid features which basically are quite unnecessary) I don't like how pixel-y and thin the pixel brushes get but that might be my problem. And they do get REALLY low quality after liquify/transform. I love the vector brushes though!

i noticed a lot of the cons you listed for ibis paint were actually fixable in the options, for example the pain bucket tool you just need to set the distance higher and the pen pressure is NOT pen and is actually in upper right corner (i think 2nd or 3rd button) :D And also for freeform there are more brushes if you scroll, took me a bit to figure out too 😭

5:19 for the pen pressure adjustements you have to go into the real settings.

in sketchbook you can make any brush an eraser brush by just choosing transparent color, the app actually has a lot of customability , i have premium and its perfect for me , tho its missing some tools i need so i finish artworks in a diff one

I personally use hi paint and if you look the 3 dots at the top right corner you can hit “toolbar settings” and it has all of those tools there…and for the liquify tool you can hit it and change the brush to a bigger one (since it automatically chooses a brush that your using to paint) hope that helps

Completely agree. One thing I will add is that I ended up paying for Ibis, art studio, and art set. It made ibis and studio solid 10/10s but art set sucked still lmao. Great vid :>>>

As medibang main: I honestly love it mostly because of its functionality, but I can't deny that for first-time users it can be hard to find it. It works both on desktop and mobile, so developers use mobile version as extension of desktop and therefore its functionality is often obstructed by menus as opposite to most popular app's approach of "hold and drop". Like, if you want to change color then you have to find hue-color changing menu and eyeball it from there, or mask your lineart layer and bucket persise color on top of it (especially if your chosen color was originally black: hues menu doesn't like it). In short, I like it because I'm in my late 20-s and procreate looks too weird (also I'm not dropping money I don't have on apple for the sake of single app).

As someone who only uses the Sketchbook app, I actually enjoy it a lot more than ibis or other apps, but the thing is I draw on my phone and not my tablet , I genuinely don't know if the tablet version of the app has less features or not

I personally barely do digital art, I’m more of a traditional artist, but when I do I just use ibisPaint, especially since I don’t really use apps that you need to buy, it just was the first thing to pop up and I’ve seen other people use it, but I might try some of the apps in the video!

in hipaint, (the app i use for digital drawing since its free) the warp tool has an adjustment button at the bottom!

5:26 the lasso tool is pixelated too, so if you want to color you have to go to the lasso layer and DRAW and FILL the parts you want to fill out. For example if I want smooth parts for my shadings, I have to use the lasso to lasso the part I was going to shade, then I’ll have to go to the lasso page to smooth and fill (or erase) the parts that I need-

All the apps are outstanding, especially IbisPaint (totally not a bit biased), I feel the problem is you tried to learn them all in 5 or less minutes

Tbh i personally think ibis paint is my favorite and i use it for digital art on my iphone 15 (i also love that you can have all the brushes by just watching an ad and unlimited layers for free, and i personally don’t care about pixelation but they also have a vector brush i think to use so then it doesn’t do that). and so much more lol. also my first celebrity crush was i think daniel radcliffe from when he was in the harry potter movies (I WAS OBSESSED WITH HARRY POTTER)- and people would ask me who was my celebrity crush and id tell them it was him and they’d be like “i knew you’d say that” 💀 i cringe looking back at it.. but amazing video as always viyaura >:D

the weird color pallet in artbook are preset brushes that you can change or hide from your screen !! the colors are also changeable lol

btw i totally agree with the adobe fresco !! it’s suuuper nice and if you use photoshop as well, fresco syncs your drawings there too! however, photoshop isn’t free haha

With ibis filling in, I just make the lines, and then make a layer to color it in manually, which can actually be satisfying. For the background, I just make a layer behind the color and the lines.

I’m an avid sketchbook user the eraser brush is the large white brush it’s mixed with the other brushes but it is there lol, I actually didn’t know you could double tap to erase for some reason. I do like it and I use it for fun, I have to agree with the bad text tho 😂.

4:04 Fun fact:you can also import or export brushes like in procrate!!! (I think ı speelled the procrate wrong-)

this is kind of unrelated to the video but if you see this comment i just wanted to let you know that you were honestly my inspiration to get back into drawing again because for a while i was having major artblock for literally monthes because i didnt think whatever i drew was good enough but after i found your channel it inspired me into getting into art again so i just wanted to thank you for that. keep doing what youre doing and youre doing great, love the videos, watched every single one not even kidding ❤

16:07- the ears are shaped like that to funnel the sound into our eardrum :)

The eraser is at the bottom on the screen the two white things, one (the farthest down tool) is the tilted white eraser, and the one up to that is the easiest eraser. :p

There are plenty of eraser brushes on sketchbook, just near the normal ones. And you can turn any brush into an eraser so they would have the same shape

At 1:37 if you look down, there's the erasers, just so you know if you haven't found them yet

hi ibis paint user here, i suggest either to paint a layer below you or use a different brush since the paint bucker can't actually paint under fades!

I always use sketchbook and it took me like 4-5 (3 years taking it seriously) to work out all the controls but with the eraser my sister told me but yeah, it’s not actually as simple as it appears. The brushes can be edited in such a cool way and once you learn it then it’s actually awesome! But yeah, you didn’t really have enough time to learn and I thought what you did for like… 3 years so yeah. It’s fine.
