    The way he responds to the comment claiming that this channel is only seeking likes and clicks is pure class. It’s unbelievable that people truly exist out there and don’t understand RNG or simple probability. Hearing these comments makes it clear why casinos continue to remain billion dollar corporation. People actually believe machines can be affected by outside influence… great video!

    Slappers drive us crazy. Sometimes it gets really bad when a casino is crowded. I'm not sure it would take AI, but it would be nice if the machine gave them a warning or two and then spit out their ticket - end of game (and slapping).

    6:45 Great answer. I can't believe I used to fall for that "AM/PM big win due" garbage. Now I walk in with a less complex and much healthier mindset: bring $500 budget, bring lockbox, leave ATM card at home and have fun. For me, time wise, once every 2-3 weeks I like to go for a night out at the sports club round 9 or 10pm (sometimes even later), when there is more choices for machines to play on and *especially* when there is less people as I HATE crowds. Friday nights and anytime during holidays are almost _always_ crowd-happy. Thank you Marc and Dave once again for putting these myths and naysayers to bed. Highly commendable video and channel. 😊👌

    Absolutely true. I never won a dime in casinos then I found this channel and cowboy slots and it’s night and day. Stick to a budget a win is a win don’t chase the big jackpot. Went to Vegas with 2600 for whole trip. Used these tips and had a blast. Came home with 1800 in my pocket minus food and drinks and a few shows. Even got 4 free nights at any mgm property and 150 free play with 250 resort credit. Been going since 2001 and I can attest if you just change a few things you still have fun and win maybe not all the time but allot more than ya use to. Thank you both for the content

    I was playing next to a woman who was feverishly swearing and trying to hit big. She hit 2 500+ majors and dumped probably 2K into machine and kept making her sister go to ATM. She was getting hits left and right. I was low rolling and getting bonuses left and right. In some cases bigger than her big bet bonuses, which infuriated her. She finally lost all her money and walked away swearing her head off. She could have walked away ahead had she gambled smart. Meanwhile I was putting money in my box.

    Great questions and answers!! I talk to so many people who fall for all those slot machine myths, and I CANNOT change their minds! It drives me nuts that people just can't accept that the random is just that-random. Not only that, I really think most of them DON'T want their confirmed bias challenged so refuse to even consider they might be wrong. At the same time, my personal confirmation bias does see them win, so then I question myself. What a never-ending rabbit hole slot machines have dug for our feeble and trickable brains.

    They are COMPUTERS.... and COMPUTERS ARE PROGRAMMED. Tell me WHY betting BIG will see MANY progressives won, while betting small will almost never bring anything but a mini. Tell me WHY they even have the lie of "choosing" when it is a predetermined outcome? Tell me WHY you can win more often on a small bet, and not so often on a larger one. If it was TRULY "random" the results would be the same for any player.

  • @kevinb4079

    @kevinb4079

    @@Ikn0wn0w Random means you should expect different results? I don't understand your logic. As for your other questions there are very logical answers but your questions are far too broad to explain all of the reasons you notice this behavior. Also keep in mind that random does not mean equal. You have the same odds of hitting any one of the possible outcomes but not an equal chance. The possible outcomes are weighted with the highest paying outcomes being less likely to be chosen then those that pay nothing or smaller amounts. In some cases you are not even eligible for progressives unless you bet a certain amount. You would be much better off learning more about the facts of how these machine work then wasting your time trying to justify your beliefs about how they work.

  • @kevinb4079

    @kevinb4079

    Many of the people that hold onto these myths do so because they need something to blame their losses on. It's far easier then having to blame your losses on your own decision making. It's always something else that made them lose. Yet when they win it's because they did something right. Humans have a very hard time understanding randomness. Look even beyond slot machines and see how often people try to explain random events as something other then just a random event. Our minds are always looking for patterns and the cause and effects of things that happen in our lives because understanding these things help us to survive. Our minds are not predisposed to recognize randomness as an answer. To recognize randomness you need to apply logic which is learned. Even then it is very difficult to accept randomness at times.

    @@kevinb4079 I pay CLOSE attention to the slots. Take Firelink.... if you are betting pennies, the progressives are low. When you get a bonus, you can, and often will get 4 minis... at about $16 each. Jump to dimes... the mini is $150... you will not get even one most of the time. Dragon link... make a 50 cent bet... you will get bonus after bonus of gold circles, and almost cover the entire screen. Bet dimes... very few bonuses, and rarely fill the screen. I watch this happen time after time... random my a$$.... these machines are programmed.

    We were at the Wynn a couple weeks ago. A dragon link high steaks machine reached $50K, that’s max for the Major (I think it’s the major). Anyways, people played and played. I even played. But it was all of sudden “out of order” and then when I saw it again the next day, someone hit it. I didn’t even get to play it again because it was “out of order”. Why and how? I can’t help but think the Wynn saved it for someone specific…it can’t be coincidence.

    You guys have some great content and I really appreciate that. I have noticed over the years of playing at casinos that most negativity about casinos were conceived from losing during play with no intention of understanding the actual workings of the game. I always go with the understanding that Casinos are there to make money and to provide entertainment to customers. I also understand while they usually have an edge over the player, but they also provide consistant wins over time to stay open. The thrill and anticipation of winning is what I go for but I never chase that win. Thanks for another really fgood video!

    Thank you so, so much for all your information. I love the graphics, music, and novelty of certain slots, so I play them not hoping to win big, just hoping to win enough to keep playing for a bit. If I walk into the casino with $400. and are able to play a couple of my favorites for a while, I am happy. If I do win a nice, but small, win on my low volatility game, I tuck that ticket away so I can cash it in on my way out. If I leave the casino with more money than I had when I walked in, that's great, but I don't expect to. I just like the vibe of the casino, so different from my regular life. Plus, I get a free room and a mini vacation, to boot. If your great videos help pne person from chasing the machine or raising their bets to make up for their losses, or spending money they can't afford, it is worth it. Thank you!!!!

    The best strategy I've come up with is: 1. Play low volatile slots (old school 3 reel) 2. Play dollar denom or higher 3. Quit when you're ahead 4. Do NOT play to $0 With this method, I always come home with money and often times come home with more than I left with. It doesn't matter if I win 20 or 200. A win is a win!

    Great comments, Marc! Thanks for this myth-busting video! I play at the Native American casinos in Wisconsin (which are smoke-free, by the way!) and am amazed by the following: 1. The number of slot players who play without a players card. 2. The number of slot players who play high-volatility penny machines - some of them playing in excess of $10 per spin! 3. Both #1 and #2. My guess is that some of these people think that using a players card results in poorer results, and that the majority of players play the penny machines for entertainment - despite their higher casino hold. One time, I was keeping track of my casino results and a woman told me, "That's too much work!" Really - you shouldn't keep track due to the work involved? My goodness...

    Each slot game is a bank account and it’s the RNG cycles that determines wins. The information is sent to theme of the slot game that can choose how to show that win to the player. To my knowledge there is no legal rules on how the theme can show the wins. A successful/profitable casino is those that make a weekly loss regularly to keep people returning. The goal of any casino is to keep the games spinning and you only achieve this is by paying out money other options like membership cards,free spins, food,drinks can help but you really want individuals leaving with a big win with in five visits because they will forget the 4 losing visits and will return.

My best ever was about a month ago, on wild wild Nugget. Hit the free games, wasn't doing much, got a re-trigger on spin 13, at about spin 25, it lined up the nuggets for a 2X2 spin and paid about $1100, putting me at $1195 with 5 spins to go. I was screaming don't hit! for 5 spins, finished out with $1197, $3 under a hand pay. All on a 50 cent bet. I was a happy gambler and went home right after LOL

    AI is not needed for the game play but it can be used to further create interactive experience beyond the spinning dials. It can be used to tell an interactive story as it's interface between it an the player while still just doing the basic probability of the payouts. Allowing the player to stay longer to the benefit of the casino. You could see the same thing applied to table games as they are trying to get people to move from live table games to electronic table games, either shared or individual.

    Another great video, as usual, sane and reasonable guidance. I am interested in your opinion, (without calling out anyone in particular), do you think that the proliferation of the slot-play channels on KZread is a net positive or net negative for the average casino gambler? I do watch 1 or 2 slot play channels occasionally, mostly because I enjoy the personalities of the players, however, overall, I would say that the slot-play channels are a net negative for the average player. I believe that many of the channels skew the content they present to show the 'big wins' while not showing the enormous amount of time where they have no wins or losses. I believe that this generally can give casual players a very skewed view of slot play.

    Just like muscles, machines do have memory. While playing Easy Money (not so easy😂), the machine locked up and wouldn't start the bonus. The problem ended up being in the CPU, so a Gaming Commission rep had to be present before the box could be accessed. When the machine came back on line, it started at the previous spin, then started the bonus. What I didn't appreciate was the slot tech saying, "It could take a while for the rep to show up; do you want to hang around and wait for him?" 😮 Gee, let me think 🤔? It's tough enough to get a bonus, so I wasn't about to leave one sitting on the machine. When it comes right down to it, the machine picks up right where it left off...even on a BONUS.

    when describing the RNG I think it's only fair to explain that it's stacked with thousands of small payouts to every big payout and when you choose a symbol from mini to Grand 99.9 percent of the time it's going to be mini or maybe minor. Throwing around the term RNG is deceiving. My question to you would be what is the percentage of random low or do nothing payouts compared to an actual decent payout in a RNG?

    I don’t think we are actually chasing a big win, but we are at most of the time chasing our losses for the session. I’m sure that most people can resonate with losing starting from the first spin and never ahead for the session.

    I have a question. My casino has a good selection of 3 reels like TS or DD. However they’re all three credits. I can’t afford to spend more than $10 a spin. Also isn’t it more like to hit on higher denoms? Would it be wise to play just one credit ($10.) opposed to a $5. 3 credit machine ($15.) a spin? Thanks. Love your channel.

Will we get more offers doing it this way? And can we play at different machines at the same time or do they cancel each other out? What are your thoughts? Thanks.

They list the RTP of the game and the volatility of the game before playing. Would you say these types on online slots operate exatly the same as a physical machine in a casino?

    Most casinos these days have all the machines networked and there are certainly applications that allow them to view who is playing, coin in/out, length of play, etc. They also use this software to dispatch techs for issues and slot attendants for handpays. However, they are not allowed to push payback % changes to the machines whenever they want. It still requires gaming control to come out and unseal and reseal machines (physically). The new software does allow management to PUSH changes to the machines (game themes, software updates, denominations and payback %), but it sits in a QUEUE until the machine can be unsealed by gaming control, a special usb key inserted into the brain box, and the change accepted. Basically, no unauthorized changes to the machines at any time. Additionally, even if they did change the payback %, in the short term, a lower payback % machine can still pay more back to the players than the casino.

    I have a question, what if a machine goes without paying out for a certain period of time, it's supposed to payout eventually but no one is hitting that winning RNG number. For example pinball can it go multiple days or even weeks without giving a bonus? Does this make sense?

  • @GambleSmart

    It's all about probabilities in the long run. In theory, it could go a long time without hitting the bonus, or it could happen several times back to back. Consider this: 52 card deck. Odd of shuffling and pulling out an Ace of Spades is 1 in 52 chance right? Well, it could take you 300 pulls before you get it, or 14 pulls, or 189 pulls, etc. But, the more you do it, the closer and closer the overall odds will get to 1 in 52. But, you will have swings on either side (called variance).

    I was in Thunder Valley Casino in Northern CA a couple of weeks ago and I saw a lady playing Reels of Wheels. The lady was currently in a bonus and the monitor that you play the game on quit working. The technicians came and worked on it for over an hour trying to get the monitor back up and were unsuccessful. Do these slot machines have standard 15 pin RGB VGA or HDMI ports that they could plug an external monitor into so she could finish out the bonus? They offered her $15 for the bonus which I believe is crap because I've seen this machine pay well over $500 in the bonus round.

  • @GambleSmart

    @GambleSmart

    Most use display port, but some have two way communication built in so that non manufacturer monitors can’t be used. In this scenario though, the bonus should have been played out (even though you can’t see it) and the credit win would be in memory. I would probably have asked how they came up with the $15 number and if the answer was unsatisfactory, file a complaint with gaming control and document the even with pictures and video.
