as unfortunate as it is, anna trying to report murv for sexual harassment and having her boss ‘recommend’ that she don’t go through with the report is all too real. especially bc even though she (aka mark in this scenario) chooses to get justice and not let it slide she’s punished and threatened by her boss regardless. there’s really no winning in this kind of situation :(

I mean, that's basically what MeToo started with and still runs heavily off of. The best solution for the dilemma you describe is to prevent it from existing (catch-22), which requires greater cultural and sociopolitical change than a single person can reasonably affect alone. If not much else, a lot of companies are at least hearing how common it actually is... and more importantly (from their perspective), that a lot of us don't want to give any of our money to companies that "ascend" by traumatizing and abusing people, sexually or otherwise. It's not enough, but it's movement.

I had almost that exact thing happened but I got lucky with it. My coworker was being a complete pig towards women who came into the gym and basically women in general treating them as objects and talking to them as lesser. Don't forget the sprinkle of racism on top of that. I called him out and told him it was unacceptable, he argued with me for 30 minutes about it trying to justify his behaviours before eventually just giving up and telling me to f*ck off. I reported him 5 separate times to my general manager with visual proof of this guy's actions and I was told each time to "leave him alone" that management will "handle it". So I got the number to hr and to my reginal manager and threatened my gm with reporting him also so he pulled his head out of the sand and made a report about the coworker. In the end my reginal was a woman so when she confronted the coworker he told her to f*ck off, eat sh*t, and d*e. Tried to vaguely threaten me as well as throwing his uniform shirt at the reginal he stormed out of the building and kicked down our sign on his way past it. But three of the males that still work with me have contact with the coworker and he tells them all the time about how great they were and how it was the reginal and all the other women that were just b*tches to him.

First off, would like to note that (sexual) harrassment is completely case by case, and this is mainly FOR and ONLY for scenarios like Anna/Murv... choosing NOT to go through with it is still a win. 1. Boss isn't upset and is thankful (to some extents). 2. Boss has higher chance on approving her study leave. 3. Her boss says he will have a talk with Murv, so we can assume that Murv will then have a target painted on his back so he will no longer sexually harass her or other female coworkers. 4. Even if 1-3 do not end up well, she can blackmail the boss about reporting Murv and causing a scandal. 5. She CAN still report via Elizabeth AFTER the deal goes through, since Elizabeth clearly states that she will let the report through AND WON'T BLOCK IT. she has such power plays over this, so why sacrifice so much potential profit over justice for only herself (as far as we know). Point 5 still lets her get her justice, this isn't murder or kiddy diddling, it CAN literally wait.

For me the most scary part in Simulacra will be the log in part, the rest of the game is creepy, don't get me wrong, but something about this specific part is so terrifying to me, specially when it says "too bad for Anna then", that just give chills all over my spine and fills me with a sense of dread

i felt the exact same way. as a horror nerd, i find it so gratifying when a simple line alone is able to elicit such paranoia and dread. its so simple, but its _so_ effective. im reading this secondhand in the early morning with a disney movie on in the background, and it _still_ made me take a glance around the room im in real quick. good shit man.

Yeah. I have no idea how or why, but after watching a bunch of different Playthru‘s of this game multiple times over the past few years, I’m just now noticing that line. I have no clue how I missed it, but it hit me hard when I heard it.

I just find it funny that Mark checks the door everytime the game does the knocking sounds HAHAHAHA

I really find this games horror to be unique. The invasion of privacy, the binary noises that sound real, there aren't genuinely good people but they feel real also.. What a game. I keep coming back to it ever since lol

For some reason I laughed really hard at Taylor's voice recording sounding like it was coming from the shower and Mark going "Where ARE you?" like yeah exactly XD

Man. Detective Murillo really went far after this game- so cool seeing stuff reoccur and whatnot.

Its the small things that make this game creepy. Like the whispering, the door knocking, the background of the phone changing, etc. All of it is just pure greatness and I love the scariness of it!

I love ambiance like that in horror, sets the mood more than jumpscares in games for me tbh...unless you rarely use jumpscares and use them perfectly, they become recycled and the initial scare wears off real quick, and can kinda ruin a game's experience if it relies solely on jumpscares...
