    Amen, sister. I've always been told I can't grow long hair because my hair is so thin and fine, but I did have long hair as a young adult, and though I had to keep it pulled back, it was still beautiful. And it felt right. Ever since I've cut it, it's been awful. I'm now letting it grow again, but after getting it to my shoulder blades, I started getting influenced by the world as far as fashion and hair. Then, as I walked through a store full of fast fashion and plastic, I became sickened and convicted. I immediately sought out inspiration for growing my glory and shutting out the cacophony of the world. Thank you for your video and inspiration. God bless you in your walk.

    You are so beautiful, an epitome of natural.. no makeup, no jewelry, just your natural hair and your smile😍❤️ I just subscribed and I have learnt a lot from this video. I have been having thinning edges and it seemed to be thinning even more and I have been considering shaving it off and starting afresh because I don’t feel confident with my natural hair. Today I cried to God and asked Him to help me, I don’t want to keep wearing wigs all the time . He led me to the story of Samson and to 1cor where the Bible talks about our hair being our glory and covering. I have decided to trust in God and hope on Him to help me grow back my edges

    Hello Charity. I stumbled on your site this morning and how encouraging. My middle name is Charity and being a Christian woman I was led to open your site. Also I was listening to one of my fav pastors and he used the word flourish to describe us and I knew this couldn't be a coincidence. I have been on my natural hair journey for at least 3 years. I had seen little growth in the first year. Now year 3 I see a bit more but it has been such a slow process. I have been praying yet having challenges with my crown area and edges. I make my own hair products the Lord has lead me to. I was just praying for something to give my hair a boost in growth and length and found your channel. I pray I can learn more from you and take even better care of the hair God has given me and grow it out. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. ❤

    I’m literally in class 🤓 I can’t wait to get out to listen to this ✨I’m struggling tremendously as I feel like the Lord is leading me to grow out my hair ✨I had a very short sassy cut and I absolutely loved it 🥰 I never planned on changing it ✨ I have felt like my self esteem ran off down the street several times . When I heard the whisper of the Spirit of the Lord saying it is time to grow it I immediately shaved off all my hair ✨ to get rid of the blonde and start from scratch ✨I’m now in the 4 months later stage not nearly as strong in my walk and really starting to question if I heard the Lord and how in the world 🌎 is this my crown glory because I don’t know how to take care of it ☹️ I had short hair for the last 16 years of my life . My mom permed my hair when I was 4 so I’ve never dealt with natural hair ! I can’t wait to listen to this on my way him to hear what God is saying I’m overwhelmed by all of the natural hair videos there are an just want to hear what the Bible says! Thank you so much for making this ✨

    You are a wonderful example of God's glory in action. Lovely energy, good message, and of course all that beautiful hair as proof! It is a shame that so few grow their hair long but it makes me appreciate it even more when I see it. When I was younger, i liked my hair and was lazy with it so i couldn't understand why so many girls at school kept doing all this weird stuff with theirs. Cutting, styling, bleaching, complicated routines, curling, etc. It seemed like so much hassle; it was like some weird form of mild self-mutilation to me, a form of self-hatred. I still don't get it though ive tried. I can at least understand getting creative with styling now, braids etc, though I can't do any of it. I just don't get why people cut and dye their hair so much. Caring for long hair has some challenges sure, but it seems way easier than all that extra stuff. Then again I always kept it long (aside from one stint where I went pixie :O never again...), so I guess it's just super normal to me. But even after 30 years I'm still slowly trying to find better ways to lazily manage it. I'm definitely confident that it shouldn't be washed more then once every 5 days (I aim for a week). Next, I'm trying hair sticks and elastic bandana headbandy things with clips to keep in place. Im hoping sticks will work, though im not sure how theyll work while lounging. I'm just so sick of scrunchies and elastics. They are all too rough on the hair, get loose, and don't look nice unless you spend a lot of time styling. Plus your hair still gets tangled and caught in things. As for the elastic headband/scarf things, I think some small covering could look nice without too much extra effort and offering a little protection from the sun. How can hair be so complicated and yet so simple at the same time?? Lol

    What is your thoughts on coloring the hair. I suffered a death in the family close to me and stress caused me to start graying. Over the years different stress. I dislike the greys so I colors my hair red/burgundy. My hair seems to be stuck at one length. so I started to pray to God about my hair because he is the creator and I believe only he could help me at this point. I don’t know how I found your channel but I Believe he speaks in so many ways. I just started so I will have to go back and listen to some of your pointers lol. It’s good to have a believer in the faith talking about God and hair. Be bless my sister.

    For some reason, your video was in my feed and I am so glad that I stumbled upon you. I recently decided to no longer relax my hair or color it and embrace what God gave me in its natural texture as well as my graying hair. You are an inspiration. I have just now subscribed to your channel. I might just buy your moisturizing hair cream that you make. I will continue to watch your videos. P.S. Friendly word of advice, look into the camera when you speak. It seemed as if you were looking and talking to someone else who perhaps was in the room. In order to engage with your audience (me) even better and make it more personable, look directly into the camera even though it will feel weird not being able to see yourself but do it anyway. The results are worth it. Thank you and may God continue to bless you and may you continue to bless us with your content. Amen!

    Thank you sweet sister for your words. However I must say that you have outstandingly beautiful thick voluminous hair that many people do not have including i. Sometimes we analyse issues based on our own experiences which when bring down to others out there will be wrong. Some people have very thin scanty hair. Every head of hair is different. What works for you may not work for others. Shea butter and coconut oil was disaster to mine beautiful hair. Shampoo, cream and butters, conditioner and deep conditioner were all disasters. I was so frustrated until I turned to God for hellp and at the end I realised that what my hair wanted was just water and oil. not every oil only sesame and almond oil I realised that products are not for me. Thank God for His directions on the best way to taking care of my hair.

    Nothing but truth in this. I've been telling people that I prayed for longer and healthy and beautiful hair. This was back in Novemeber and when i took my braids out, my hair was longer akd healthier than its ever been. And every compliment i got was "beautiful". He also told me not to wear weaves anymore, which i found strange because I've not worn a weave in over a year and at that time I had no desire to wear 1. Then 1 day while scrolling Instagram, i came across a lady who was showing off these really nice wigs and weaves and I wanted 1 so badly and then He reminded me again. I felt sad and started questioning why He was okay with that lady, who is also Christian, wearing them? He immediately rebuked me and told me to concentrate on MY hair journey and to stay out that woman's business. I listened and it's April now and my hair is flourishing.

  • @MrsCharityUmar

    Hello there! I encourage ladies that if there is damage done to the hair, it is okay to cut and start over! There is no point in holding on to damaged hair. In your case however, it sounds like the thinning and bald spot may be due to the tightness of your styles? If that it the case, it would be recommendable to avoid tight styles especially around the edges and nape and treat those areas. If the length of your hair is okay, then just focus on treating the edges without cutting your entire hair. Here’s a simple treatment for the edges: Every night, apply a small amount of water to the affected areas then apply castor oil to those areas and massage for 7-10 mins. This will encourage blood flow to hair follicles thus promoting growth. Be sure to use a satin or silk head gear at night, continue to avoid tight hairstyles and tight scarves. Lastly, take pictures of the affected areas before treatment. Follow the above treatment for a month and reassess the area for improvement. This is the castor oil I’ve used: amzn.to/3d8g2oI Here’s a video in which I addressed this issue: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aoCkxcxrlNXVj9o.html Hope this helps!

If I apply leave in condition in my hair can put Moisturize cream in it, and then add oil at the roots. Right now i shampoo and add moisture to it. I spare water everyday and add moisture and oil every day. I just struggled with order of products and what is important to my hair

    Having hair down to my bottom! I notice people here and there, are shocked at how long it is. But unfortunately 😭, not trimming it properly has led to damaged split ends. I also am dealing with seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp. I don't want to cut my hair. But, I'm afraid I might have to chop a huge amount off. I'm so attached to my hair I'd probably have a melt down if I cut it to a long bob 🤣. I don't want to be "legalistic" about my hair either.

    Hmm, I can see the need for balance! If cutting your hair will lead to a path of healing with a new and fresh beginning then it may be necessary. But I would also encourage you to definitely involve God in the process and seek His Will. “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:6

And I want to wear my naturally curly hair down, but people do sometimes comment on it saying things like, “your hair is so pretty”, “ I love your hair”, but what do I do if people are like “oh I wish I had your hair”? (Cuz some girls do say that) I don’t want to make anyone jealous/covetous, but I do want to take care of my hair and put some product in it; what do I do?

    It is not your fault if people envy you for your hair though you may feel guilty! Tell them all hair is good hair, because it is, and know that God designed all of us and we come in different colors, shapes and sizes. Everything is by Gods design, everybody is unique, no features are superior or inferior. God is the best artist and he was creative with us. No hair is better than the next hair. People may be convinced it is so because of trends, and the natural nature that we humans have to want what we don’t have. But trends are temporary, and our bodies are also temporary!

    I have a question: As Christians who are black women (trying to grow our hair), we should not only wash and dentagle our hair, but also we should wear protective styles only with our hair (e.g. mini twists, single braids, bun, etc.) not braiding hair (since you said with scripture that we shouldn't cover our hair since our hair represents the glory of God)?

  • @MrsCharityUmar

    @MrsCharityUmar

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi, I personally do not subscribe to the use of artificial hair so I don't recommend it. But the motive behind what we do as believers is very important. The question is, why would someone want to put on a wig? What is the motive? I believe that God gave us our natural hair and intended for our hair to be taken care of so that it can flourish and so that it can bring Him glory. I believe that the use of artificial hair competes with what God has already created which is out natural hair.

    Hello there, In addition to prayer, I would recommend doing some research regarding the foundation of locing of hair. As far as I know, it’s foundation is not one that encourages me as a Christian to choose dreadlocks as a hairstyle. “The term dreadlocks is mostly associated with the Rastafarian movement which developed in the 1930s in Jamaica during the reign of the Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie who was seen to followers of the movement as a god or the second coming of the Christ.” Please pray about it and do the necessary research to guide your decision.

    I have a question, I cut my hair very short (boy length) but I’m not trying to look like a boy I dress feminine and only wear dresses but is it a sin for my hair to be this short? I used to have long hair but it made me unhappy because taking care of it was too much work for me and I like how my short hair doesn’t need a lot of maintenance. I’m not doing it for looks but if it is a sin then I will grow out my hair.

    Hello there!😊 I appreciate your heart and willingness to change. It sounds like you were pursuing convenience rather than understanding the true purpose of long hair. The fact is that our hair was given to us as a beautiful and natural accessory to be cared for. The long hair of a woman is part of her feminine nature. I wouldn’t judge your action as sin per se, I would rather encourage you to seek more understanding through the word of God and prayer regarding how God would have you wear and care for your hair. As believers, the scripture encourages us to do all things to the glory of God. This means to do things with the understanding and intentions with which God designed so that the outcome is one that pleases the Father and blesses us as well. Hope that answered your question. 1 Corinthians 10:31, KJV: "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

    Hey Charity, what about head covering, do you feel like the lord only call us women to cover our head when praying?

  • @MrsCharityUmar

    @MrsCharityUmar

    4 жыл бұрын

    Kermila, according to that same 1 Corinthians 11, a woman is expected to cover her hair with an object while praying or prophesying. A head covering is not to be worn at all times unless someone is convicted to do so. Of course there are times when one needs to pray and there isn’t a head covering available. To solve this, one may keep a scarf in their bag at all times. However, for example if you happen to be at the park for an outing and meet someone who asks for prayer and you don’t have a scarf, in that instance, I believe that the prayer is far more important than searching around for a head covering. As much as possible, let us be intentional in covering our hair when praying or prophesying. In moments when we don’t have a head covering, let’s not be so fixated on finding a scarf before performing a spiritual duty as praying, but rather allow the Lord to use us to be a blessing in that moment. Hope that answers your question.

    You have beautiful hair and love your product. I feel you got the message wrong here. We should not make our hair our idol and seek to look beautiful for other people's glory, thinking it is Goryfiying God as some people don't know God. We are to be humble about our hair and how we look, being careful not to creat others to sin by lusting after our hair. Jesus was saying this about our hair because in the old pagen days, prostitutes would have their heads shaven and wear fancy head gear. Men would grow their hair for royalty and pride. It's by nature for women to grow long hair and men to have short. God blessed us with long hair because we as women can only grow long hair and it is used as a covering. As to cover ourselves. It's his blessings to us as females. We are also supposed to cover our head with a vail if we are married and pray in a church as to bring honour to our household and husband "means we are covered with protection by him".Our long hair is a blessing from God but we need to be careful not to make it our idol or develope pride from it but rather stay humble about it. We need to be very careful of this. Hair top: I use to battle to grow my hair until I developed arthritis in my joints from old injury. I started to take 'Kirkland Joint Ease supplement with collegen' at night and then collegen powder in my coffee in the morning. Stopped cutting (no hair salon for 4 years) and now it's to the middle of my bottom. 'Dream coat' spray for horse hair is amazing. Will make any type of hair soft, shiny, tangle free and strong.

    what are using yarn /wool on the hair my daughter is really insecure about her shorf hair and wants it to grow faster by plaiting it with wool isnt it natrual?

  • @MrsCharityUmar

    @MrsCharityUmar

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hmm, the hair that grows from our scalp is the most natural. I understand your daughter’s insecurities about short hair. I would encourage you and her to invest in nurturing the hair at this point to encourage growth. I encourage women to avoid all types of attachment to the hair. Attachments often cause short term and long term damage to our hair. Attachments often hinders women from taking the time and effort to get to know our hair and care for it as it should. Also, in most cases attachments provides room for abandonment of the hair which will not yield much desired fruit. You can encourage growth of the hair by keeping it hydrated and moisturized along with scalp massages to encourage growth. She may spritz her hair with water then seal with an oil and cream at least every 3 days. At the current length, it is needful to also protect the hair at night by using satin headgear (Satin scarves or pillow case) to prevent breakage. Depending on her current length, twists may not be an immediate option, but after moisturizing her hair, she may gently comb it out or use a product that can help define her natural curls 😊. Lastly, KZread has a plethora of hairstyles for short natural hair. I encourage her to enjoy her hair at this stage and be creative!😊
