I read this three book edition over the Christmas period two years ago. Took me the best part of a month to finish it. Completely astonishingly body of work, so many standout moments. The Byzantine Prince being captured by a Muslim Princesses, and the two falling in love. Absolutely epic. I need to revisit this book again soon.

I just can't decide who is more adorable.

I spent a very enjoyable summer years ago reading through an abridged but enormous collection of the Burton translation. Magnificent stories, and very much worthwhile to explore around the lesser known tales.

I am currently reading the penguin clothbound edition but would love to read the whole thing

This was serendipitous today as I watched it just after finishing The Enlightenment of the Greengage Tree which draws directly on this whilst writing about the Iranian Revolution.

I aughta pick up a copy of that. haven't read any of them in a cool decade
