Can someone please explain the communal bathrooms in the Hillside Traditional Hall: Los Cerritos. Is that similar to like a locker room style, with multiple showers and bathrooms??

yes! There are usually 3-4 stalls and a couple showers as well!

I read on CSULB site that for freshman they don't allow them to buy parking permits or have a car on campus something like that, but other than that is there public transportation available or should I invest in a bike? :)

they don't which really sucked but honestly it wasn't too bad! I took uber a lot and also there are the public buses to get around long beach and the shuttles which take you around campus! If you have a bike though, it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring it! :)

People at SDSU said they do not feel safe because they keep getting robbed. Is Cal State Long Beach a safe school to go to?

On a scale of 1-10 how hard would you say it is to get into CSULB? I'm a senior this year and have a 3.68 gpa, and CSULB is really the only college I want to go to.

Their acceptance rate is a good amount on the lower side but it also depends on your major. There really is no way to put it on a scale because they judge everyone differently!

For future reference, I have a 3.5 G.P.A. non weighted and just got accepted. (My Sat was 1480 tho so that helped me out a lot)

I’m currently a senior at bell gardens high school , my class rank is 94 and my overall GPA is 3.55. I really really wanna attend the school for nursing but I’ve been hearing now a lot of students are being denied or not accepted even when being good students due to the amount of applications they have to go through, what would you recommend me to do? Any tips or anything to get in ? Or what would you recommend me to do overall?

Okay here's apparently the best way to get into a nursing program that many don't do. Go to a community college that offers an RN program (2 years). Then transfer to a university that offers RN to BSN. CSU Fullerton, Northeidge, and Long Beach I believe are examples of some that have this option. The thing with nursing programs is that experience is what they find appealing and easier to teach. You can also do your prerequisites at a CC and just go straight to the RN program but it gets harder and harder to get into each year.

Kobe Bryant you can buy parking permits for the lots that are open during the day but other than that there is not freshman parking! You can read more about it at this link! web.csulb.edu/divisions/students/housing/campus_housing/faq/res_halls.htm#a14

Hi Jenna! I would say not really since Greek life isn't huge on our campus. If you want to try it out, I definitely think it's something to look into but if you aren't feeling it either then there's no need to stress! Being a commuter school, CSULB Greek life isn't at the center of attention or anything but it is a good way to make friends and connections if you choose to!

Do you know any forensic science majors or chemistry majors?? How is the class?

Hey brookie , my name is grace and I’m a junior I’m Going to be a senior next year ... anyways I want to attend csulb for interior design but my councilor way complaining to me about it being 6 years to get my degree and that it’ll be expensive bc it takes longer to graduate ... what do u think 🤔

Hey! So actually the interior design program here is in the process of combining classes so that new students coming into the program, like yourself, will only have to be here for 4 years!! I definitely think you should give it a go and let your counselor know that we are now doing that. I'm not too sure why she doesn't know haha! But the program is amazing and nationally known so if you know it's your passion, just go for it!

What are the GE requirements did you have to take? And how many?

Diana I took a lot but if you go on the csulb website you can see a breakdown of them and they have a paper you can print out as well!

I applied to CSULB as an incoming freshman for fall of 2018. I'm nervous about the acceptance rate and was curious to see what you thought about my chances of being accepted. I have a 3.97 weighted GPA and have a 1200 SAT score. The one thing I'm concerned about is that it seems that CSULB accepts mostly California residents and I am from Oregon. I was wondering if you have noticed if it is mostly California residents that are accepted or if it is just based on degree. Oh, and by the way my major is Fashion Merchandising. Thanks!!

Honestly, I think you have a good chance of getting in. There are a lot of California residents since it is mostly a commuter school but I do know a good amount of people that are from out of state! Don't stress about it at all! Your GPA and SAT are really good, it mostly just depends on your major and if you meet the qualifications for it!
