What a charming young man Iain is!

Honestly I cannot wait to see what Iain does next. He has such effortless charm and natural charisma that I am sure many productions will want to approach him after Young Sheldon truly concludes.

When I saw rhy scene and the way Sheldon reacted, it made me want to wrap my arms around him like my uncle did when my dad died and he said "I know how it feels I'm a Farber too.'

I had the same reaction when my dad died. This kid nailed it.

I’d venture to guess there was the perception that Jim Parsons would probably forever be typecast as Sheldon from Big Bang also, but he’s gone on to do other well-received rolls since then,and even did so during the run of the show as well, so there’s hope that Ian will be able to do the same now that Young Sheldon is done with. The strange thing, though, is that when he speaks in interviews and on talk shows, he still seems to have the same speech patterns as he did when playing Sheldon- that kind of fast, clipped way of talking like young Sheldon did. He’ll definately have to try to modify that a bit to separate himself from that character- hopefully he’ll be able to- has to tone down the exuberance somewhat, in future rolls…

I like this kid I hope he stays out of trouble and can showcase his acting talent for years to come! He is so charming and cute and positive!

A good idea for this scene. My interpretation was he was deeply shocked. Folks with Sheldon's type of personality profile have difficulty processing heavily emotional information, and just can't cope with it, so they shut down completely.

Great interview, here. And, Iain is amazing actor! He also seems like an insightful, thoughtful person. I have been impressed with his portrayal of 'young' Sheldon, especially in this final 7th season. Hope to see him in more roles.

I lool forward to seeing Ian's career grow.

If you go back from the first season, he looks so young he looks like he’s five years old in the first season now he looks like he’s 20

The was very affecting. If ever there was a reaction that looks like how that kind of shock feels, this was it.

Oh heck yeah! No time for TBBT! Too overblown and too many unpleasant, stereotyped actors. The laugh track drives me nuts! They could've given us another season of Young Sheldon.

Yes! Sheldon would be shocked and nearly paralyzed by the incongruity of the situation- the intellectual processing of this information vs his unexpressed love for his father. One that would bring the neurotypical to sorrow but him to a brainlock. His interpretation was utterly perfect for the character. And horrible for the rest of us.

Wow. The young Sheldon actor has become so handsome! 🥰

One day this kid will be as big as Tom Hanks. Al Pacino, Gene Hackman, Marlon Brando, Anthony Hopkins, Paul Newman, Morgan Freeman, etc. Very talented young man! And so handsome!

Well Sheldon hasn’t always been good at displaying emotion.. I think he captured that beautifully.

I am amazed to see the people who have no idea what the issue is with this character.....makes my heart ache for those who suffer from neurological disorders and viewed as jerks or no one could be that big of an ass or other negative comments.

when they were all saying to be ready by 4, and George said he wouldnt miss it, and would see them after work... aw man i just knew, and sheldon not saying bye or anything before he left cemented it, yet i was still caught off guard

I think the way they have Sheldon almost shut down and it’s not really time the Big Bang theory that he begins to open back up and heal really. Old Sheldon has all these controls in his life because of this trauma he cant feel that pain again if he doesn’t let people in.

Sheldon and Missy were the two kittens you never wanted to see grow up into adult cats. Seems like he's beginning to outgrow the character at Young Sheldon is catching up to adult Sheldon. I understand why they have to end the show. I'm just really going to miss it because I ADORE the Young Sheldon show and it's cast but cannot stand BBT

Thats true,very few understand what its like.I lost my father on 10th March post open heart surgery.My acquaintances want me to be happy,travel,spend time with 5 yr old energetic kids.And even 3 days after my father, they had band aids to put ' time heals everything' , ' it was God's will' ,' you are strong,u will be ok'. Such sentences dont help at all.How was this God's wish? Why would He wish so? Why do I have tobe strong? Now I dont bother to explain.Ppl ask me 'so hows everythin at home?' I want to say ' my mother lost her companion of 44 yrs,she is NOT ok, she lives alone in a 5 bedroom house where my father's presence is everywhere,she is not ok.My father went for the surgery cz he wanted to live but now he is 6 ft under,how can we be ok?' but its pointless,useless to say anythin at all.They want us to say ' we are ok' so that they can get on with their day and so thats what I say and then say ' glad to know' and thats the end of conversation.Ppl dont want to hear anythin else cz it makes them ' uncomfortable'.Someone lost his life but we should make sure others dont feel 'uncomfortable' by our grief,thats the world we live in.I speak only to a counsellor now.

Damn. Ian is articulate, well spoken, thoughtful, and ... smart. My mind is now open to him becoming ... someone else, a different character in a different project. I can't wait. He had always been Young Sheldon. Now I see that he can be ... so much more.

I lost my father on 10th March after a heart surgery,after he had been transferred to ICU and then onto room ( so considered out of danger). He then went into coma.And when he passed away 2 weeks later, we, the family members ,all reacted differently.Its not always like the movies.My mum dint shed any tears when we received the news ( ICU called us) my elder brother,42 yr old,who had been stoic throughout, cried.My younger brother who had been wailing earlier and later did not. I dint cry.my hands,legs were trembling,couldnt stay standing,but I had to go to the ICU the next day to collect my father's belongings,settle the bill etc.I dint cry even then.I cried much later when I came back to the country where I live alone.Here I dint have to be stoic for my mother or brothers.

Knowing Sheldon, he was probably thinking "How could he do this to me? Oh well, at least I don't have to go in for that picture."
