Poor Mary, she really has no idea, so confident and taking him for granted….

The thing is they did a good job building up to George's affair, I do think the way his character is setup and the relationship with his family it's all making sense why he would eventually cheat and die actually. Him drinking is quite obviously a escape from reality where he's stuck being a coach, his children and wife thinks they're too good to listen to him most of the time, meemaw being a pain in his ass sometimes cos meemaw. Yet we see the family trying to convince him to stop drinking (escape) on multiple occasion. He was eventually gonna fall to either his heart problems or some severe mental health issue.

What I find funny is that George is able to be a better father figure for Billy and his own father never appreciate him never put effort into him and just you know instead of thinking that his son is stupid if he actually showed his son how to do things well he won’t be having accidents

He’s probably subconsciously motivated to help Brenda, to impress her. He isn’t motivated to impress Mary or do anything for Mary (and by extension-her children). His anger at Mary is being taken out onto his and Mary’s children subconsciously.

@@SolidChristianTeachings I agree with you somewhat on that idea except he does get vulnerable with Sheldon in all the episodes of their decisions how he tells him how there is something going wrong in his old school how he had to move from the school because he did the right thing he got blamed for doing the right thing and just it’s how he can relate to Sheldon and I hope this makes sense because I’m using voice dictation and in real life I have a visual impairment so this is why I use VoiceOver technology it’s not the best but I hope you understand my comment and I also want to say that I like the way he treats Sheldon because even though the show is not right to the topic of autism or is a show for autism I find that there is lessons you can take away from the show that would be for children or people with autism the other day I was watching the episode from the new episode of young Sheldon and House Sheldon get an answer wrong in the test how he can’t think of it even though he knows he can do it and I love how Mary says to him I don’t want you to lie I don’t want you to change anything of you I like you the way you are and I was deeply moved because of that because there’s not a lot of children in the world or people in the world with disabilities that are told that message so I really loved it and how they had it in the episode

George is a good man. He started having feelings for Brenda in her house and immediately went home to redirect those feelings onto his wife instead. Too bad she turned him down in that moment, she is pushing him away.

@@guennperez1732 even though I don’t condone cheating, I can see his reasons. Mary emasculates him in every way, doesn’t appreciate what he does, and contradicts him every time he tries. The lack of sex alone isn’t enough of a reason to cheat, but the lack of love, communication and respect in their marriage is.

Saying things like that is a big part of the problem. You cannot justify cheating. George is not a dog. George is a grown, married man who is mature enough to understand that getting too close to another woman is wrong. And people like you need to learn that not everyone is always ready for sex.
