IT’S NOT LIKE ELITE AT ALL , give this show a chance !! The vibe is completely the opposite : it’s soft , it isn’t about sex , it’s about love , depression , anxiety , constant battle within urself . I’m obsessed with this show , I can’t stop thinking about it . Go watch it so we can have a second season !

the MOST refreshing thing about this show was HEALTHY COMMUNICATION. it’s ridiculous how i was blown away everytime the classic forced unnecessary drama was avoided by just talking. we have been so used to it from american series. swedish people really know how to make a good show❤️

This is what I love the most about Scandinavian movies & series. They COMMUNICATE with words, not avoiding real HEALTHY COMMUNICATION. In real life language is the most powerful thing to use it. In many movies & series, there is not enough communication in the right way, the way it should be.

It’s because America is too scared to take the unusual shows and give them a chance. I’ve written a few movies between my novels, and I don’t think a single one would be made, simply because how weird they are compared to the usual tropes. I like communication, publishes and agents don’t for whatever reason. I’m sure there are so many good shows that you’ll never see due to this. It makes me angry, also cause I can’t get published, which is annoying.

Only show I've ever seen where the teenagers actually look like teenagers. It includes a character with Aspergers & ADHD without that their entire personality, the main girl/hottest girl is a black girl with a medium build, deals with anxiety and panic attacks, the popular girls are actually really nice, lgbt+ themes represented by poc, healthy communication (!!!), realistic stories. What's not to love?

I'm NOT a teenager but I LOVED this series. If Netflix doesn't greenlight a second season they're the biggest fools in the universe, something they already proved by cancelling sense8. The chemistry between Wilhelm and Simon is beyond authentic, warm, tender, passionate and appropriately awkward.

The depth of this story is better than anything teen related I’ve ever watched on Netflix. The way the characters act and grow is so incredibly natural? That last scene still makes my heart hurt it’s so beautiful and simple and so, so sad. And the side characters are incredible as well, even August has such a beautifully developed story that you have to feel at least a bit sorry for him. I could feel his guilt, especially when Wille confronted him. Ughh, this is such a good show.

They're nothing alike. Such different vibes. But YR did inspire me to watch Skam (especially season 3) and I finally got my fix for beautiful LGBT character development played by real teenagers. Highly recommend to all YR fans.

Netflix hardly promoted this at all in Australia when it was released, so few people here know much about it. (It only showed up on my home page because I watched Heartstopper.) But seriously, Young Royals is...I can hardly find the words for how good it is. The writing, directing, and the ACTING...holy crap, it's all so beautiful. I am just dying to know what happens next in the story and to spend more time with these characters.

Jughead on a gang, Archie in prison, Veronica somehow managed to built and run a underground bar or whatever under a milkshake bar or something, Betty was druged and became a character of a f*cking BOARD GAME to save other teens and Betty's sister had twins with their enemy who turns out is their cousin and in the middle of this they are supposed to be teens. But they don't talk, dress or act as teens, like, at all. It's such a confusing show honestly what where the writers on when they came up with this idea?¿?

We need more seasons, please do not cancel it, it is the best series I have seen. 🥺❤

‘I love you’ was said only once in this series of 6 episodes. And that was the most saddest part of the show. You can’t be with the one you love because of your destiny/fate

Homophobia is not even a thing in Sweden, so it doesn’t matter if they cancel it.

In fairness, the Scandinavian royals are so chill and progressive and not as much drama as the British Royals. Even Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden (future queen) got an award this year for being a huge ally to LGBTQ community. Swedish royal family is also the first in Europe to end male primogeniture (preference of males to inherit) which is why Victoria gets the crown over her younger brother.

That's why I don't get why the British Royals refuse to evolve...the romanticism over tradition is archaic. I love how progressive Scandinavian royals are, I don't recall hearing much drama w/them in the press...and it appears their people love them.

@@conallen1 in fairness again, UK has abolished the male preference primogeniture law also, since a year before Charlotte born, that's why her position is above Louis. William also has said that it's fine with him if his kid is gay. And he's so protective of his children, so he'll definitely support them. Well, they're slowly evolving, maybe still far with the class system, but it's also embedded in their culture, so hard to erase. Scandinavian has something known as Lagom, if I'm not mistaken, where it's in their culture to acknowledge that all people are the same, even though you're royalty. And to be fair, they're press beloved because it's just them being UK, the most known royalty, due to they used to colonized 1/3 of the world. Their language is also what we use as lingua franca now. There are other royal families that full of drama too but not known by international press, just local, because they're not UK, trust me I know some.

It's about moderation, not being excessive or extreme in behaviour or habits (or eating and drinking). Swedish royals and nobility don't wield any special political power anymore the way they do in Britain, but the tendency to think of people as more or less the same (whether that is in fact true or not) is more due to our strong, century-long labour movement and social democratic tradition. In actual fact, even if the nobility isn't given any formal political privileges there is still the fact that they are connected and rich and influential. It's true that our Crown Princess is well-liked, though, even by people who aren't really royalists. She's really chill. And it's also true that our royals aren't nearly as involved in drama as the British ones. /Swede

I [somehow] am starting to get the feeling that there won't be a second season........those of us that believe this is an important series for equality for all humanity might be sadly mistaken..... I keep checking my 'Trending' list of shows and movies...and yes I'm with the 'Oceanic Netflix'.....so we might be a tad out of the way from the rest of the world......but there is no mention of 'Young Royals'...I keep listening to the radio stations everytime one of the 'hosts' talks about the newest trending show....nada....the only place Young Royals is mentioned is ...Netflix Nordic......Heck 'Netflix' doesn't even mention it as one of their shows or movies on their main page..... I'm starting to believe, if you hadn't ever watched a 'gay' themed movie or show prior to Young Royals......you wouldn't even know it existed. Why do straight people find it so repugnant to see LGBTQ+ people living life?....it's not like gay people haven't ever seen straight people living life?...... Should that be the question of the day? Just binge watched this and Im thinking why I didn’t watch this sooner! Teens actually look like teens,have the problems that teens actually face, and the acting as well as the cinematography ON POINT.I absolutely loved the moments where they both steal glances at each other with smiles. So damn precious! Also how their parents didn’t get angry at them, and the way boys maintained a proper communication during the hard time. It’s a really good show,so please bring a S2!

One of the best series I have seen, I have loved everything about it, its plot, its characters, the relationship between Wilhelm and Simon... EVERYTHING. I hope Netflix renews it for a second season, please!!! It has been simply incredible!!! We need a second season!!!

I can’t even articulate how freaking amazing this show was. It indefinitely moved into my top three shows of all time. It’s a MASTERPIECE.

​@@Olivia-tz8rl I'm Swedish and I can't really imagine that the teens here would have generally worse skin compared to youth in other countries. Might be, albeit I've noticed that realistic, imperfect skin is less stigmatized here compared to the standards of the countries my relatives live in.

I'm old enough to be these character's mother but I loved this show. I think my favorite thing about it is that there aren't any inhuman supervillians. Some characters make terrible mistakes and we may even despise them for a moment, but they are all redeemable, 3D characters with relatable motivations. Please keep theisauthenticity in s2 🙏

WHY IS NETFLIX NOT PROMOTING THIS MASTERPIECE??? C'MON YOU HAVE ONE JOB!!!!!! if they aren't promoting this enough how do they expect more ppl to watch it? if it doesn't get the popularity which they're hoping for (without any effort) then they'd end up cancelling it which is so not fair to the people who have watched and loved it and now need a season 2 :(

This show is incredible, one thing I absolutely loved is the fact that the teenagers actually look like teenagers and not 30 year old supermodels *coughs* riverdale, they don’t have abnormally perfect faces and bodies and as a teenager who is far from perfect it was oddly comforting.

I see a lot of people comment this but honestly in Sweden where I live there are plenty of teenagers who look incredible. I rarely see a pimply teeanger nowadays which is weird and they all have great make up and fashion. All I'm saying is that it's not too far from reality to have a perfect looking cast

Such an extraordinary love story, so human and authentic, I applaud whoever casted these actors. It's also so refreshing how inclusive this show is without coming off as cringey. Easily one of the best shows I've ever watched.

Such a well done show! I love how raw the series is. The cast was not glamoured up with makeup to look perfect, just their natural selves. They casted people of different diversity and different body types. Great story, great acting… I hope this gets renewed for another season 🤞🏻

Parents: The best way to keep him out of trouble is to stick him with rich, snobby teenagers who have no parental supervision. Me: Good plan...NOT

trailer doesn't even do this masterpiece justice, the script and acting portray the awkward teenage phase so on point. it's not overly sexualized and the characters all have struggles that they are dealing with. netflix DO NOT CANCEL THIS

Yes, they should have made the trailer different. More people would have seen the series earlier like me if the trailer would portray the strugle of two young men loving each other. It was so emotional, this deserves a lot of praise!

We need a Season 2 of this, it's the first time in years that I really feel connected to a story, it's amazing how many fellings you feel while watching and it's unbelievable the way that this made me cry like no series before, please season 2!!! i'm just gonna throw it all out there : this is the best show ever, here's why. first, in terms of quality this is litteraly insane. the music is PERFECT, the lighting is always on point which makes it seem so beautiful, the filming is like long shots, slow cameras, zoom on the faces and it just makes something truly mind-blowing just talking about the visual. so a big shoutout to all the crew for that. then, the story. holy moly jesus. the main story is so so good, well written (realistic and super super cute and beautiful), WE NEED SHOWS LIKE YOUNG ROYALS THAT REPRESENTS REAL LIFE WITH REALISTIC CHARACTERS AND REALISTIC STORYLINES (yes i'm screaming but that's only because it is so important). seriously like finally a show where teenagers aren't played by 30 years old and have actual relatable storylines. this show is so natural and authentic and that's what makes it so special. they don't go like the "teen drama" which depicts completely crazy and totally unrealistic stories. in young royals, every character has flaws and they're not ashamed to show them, the storylines are authentic, normal and naturals wich makes the show so relatable. they normalized falling in love in the most natural and genuine way. im repeating but WE NEED SHOWS LIKE THAT. then i have to talk about the actors who are well, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PHENOMENAL SENSATIONAL INCREDIBLY TALENTED. i mean it, edvin ryding and omar rudberg, the two main roles are absolutely mind-blowing. they just lived the story like it was their own and everything in their acting was right. also their chemistry is OUT OF THIS WORLD. sometimes they had so much chemistry it almost broke my tv anyway. (and it's swedish and that is a beautiful language trust me, it felt like cotton in my ears) soooo, YES watch it now if you still haven't watch it, YES netflix needs to renew it, YES rewatch it if u already watch it i swear it gets better everytime if it's even possible, and YES this is probably the best show ever and it NEEDS more recognition !!! thank you for reading me if you have

However, just fyi, the Swedish and any Scandinavian royal family has been known as the most chill royals. Like they're so open at any sexual orientation, and they often walk or drive alone on the streets just like normal people, very down to earth.

Yeah I’m happy about that, this serie isn’t based on any kind of real story in Sweden though. So it’s not like the crown where they actually played people who had been in the royal family

Each episode took me almost twice as long as it should, because I kept rewinding all the cuteness. 100% recommend. It was amazing, I NEED season 2

no, you don’t understand, i’m obsessed. i watched it the day it came out and it’ll be my favorite show for probably years. it’s absolutely amazing and everything the world ever needed, after watching this show, i don’t even know how i’m going to like another show as much. everything i watch would be compared to this masterpiece, i don’t even know how to explain. if young royals doesn’t get a season 2, i don’t even know the point anymore !!

I LOVE that in this show there aren’t stupid miscommunications or characters who don’t let their friends/significiant other finish speaking for the sake of dragging out the drama until they can explain. Refreshing.

Love that they genuinely look like teenagers instead of everyone being perfect faced 25 years olds acting like freshmen

this show is honestly one of the best shows I've ever seen with the representation of real teenagers with an actual storyline that makes sense and isn't blown over proportion! there better be a season2 and 3 coming in the works for this series netflix

And if I could get my hands on five shows like this, I'll say my life was worth it. This is the best show I have watched in a very very long time. I cried and laughed and I have just seen an announcement for season 2 and it just made my day. Bring it on.

This seems like a show that I binge watch at night and regret it in the morning. I just finished watching this show and I don't regret it. It's really good ❤️😍

I like most of the episodes of Never Have I Ever, but it's the last episode that I hated because I had no idea they were going to put some hidden conservative message that is meant to brainwash India American teenagers to always blindly follow their parents. I actually wonder to myself if the people who wrote the episodes didn't even know about the last episode, because those episodes are so different from the last episode of season 1. That is why I felt like I wasted my time on Never Have I Ever after binge watching season 1.

These are the kind of shows we need. Even though I'm in no way an elite or part of any royal family, there was so much to relate to and learn from this show. The characters were so diverse and NOT perfect but that in itself was PERFECT. This isn't just about a romance but it's so much more and I WANT to see MORE. Please give us a Season 2!

You're absolutely right. I haven't watched Elite, but from the trailer and clips i can already say it's just simply not my cup of tea. I watched Young Royals, three times, and i still can't get over it. Despite the theme being royal, the series gives off genuine plot and characterization. They really showcased how teenage life is more than the non royal teenage shows that don't look natural at all, let alone relatable.

this show is literally the best teen drama ive ever seen! realistic dialogue, relationships, issues. can't wait for season 2

I didn't expect this show to be soo good. The best thing is that the teenagers do not act so extra. They are normal people. The famous girl is not some thin, blond with unrealistic skin. And the teenagers are not built up guys who look like they spend more time in gym than in school.

Just finished this season and it’s absolutely amazing. The writers really nailed the portray of the two main characters perfectly. Their chemistry is amazing, and the slow burn was so wonderful to see. It has lots of similarities to the Skam storyline. Can’t wait for the next season :)

I don't get why people are comparing this with Elite and Skam because the only similarities I found between this and them are that it's about teens (16-18y) and it takes place at like a "fancier high school" (boarding school). Like the plot of Elite and Skam are so different too this

I just finished it. Oh my god how beautiful it was. I had it on my list and I regret I didn't see it sooner. Acting was brilliant. The story is just perfect, it's not all about the sex in this teenager series, it's a sad love story. I felt so emotional for Whilhelm and Simon. I hope they will end up together... Somehow. Please? Give us a nice season 2

I'm gutted by the fact that this show only has 6 episodes. This is one of very few shows aimed at teenagers that legitimately has an engaging plot and isn't utter garbage. I need season 2 now because I want to know how a hardened Wilhelm will act as the new Crown Prince of Sweden and if he'll fight for his and Simon's love. From what I've seen so far, he has the potential to become a greater king than the Swedish monarchs before him, especially if Simon ends up being his consort.

Woah what do you mean? Sure, there are some shows that desperately need continuations (KISS ME FIRST PLEASE NETFLIX FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THERE WAS NO CLOSURE, Santa Clarita Diet, and the OA come to mind), but many others do get long runtimes.
