    I lived in Cockeyville, Md., Delaney High Schools District. This is the school Isiah Lamb attended for however long. Little did I know the learning disabled sister and I would eventually be also homeless. Although we lived in a shelter, much better than what Isiah dealt with, it was truly harrowing. God bless all of them. Greater days are ahead. We are doing much better. Stay positive!

    Eric Phillips you can say whatever you like, but do you have any proof God is fake? I don't think so. Everyone has a belief and no one should be judging and saying "oh God isn't real blah blah..."

  • @TheDeadPunch

    @TheDeadPunch

    Eric Phillips: Prayer isn't always about others, it's about helping yourself. When you hit rock bottom, have nothing , feel like nobody, feel trapped by your situation; then prayer can help you find a way to see things better and give you the energy to survive. Prayer is a self-healing mechanism, not a magical cure-all. If you don't believe, that's fine; but for people in their toughest times, it may be the only way to find a path thru their day. Why try to take that away from someone?

    This is such a sad story! But a story of strength and endurance, commitment and love. I work with this young man's mom and never knew that the family was going through this rough time. Since this went public it broke my heart to know the struggles the three of them go through. So proud of the parents for keeping it together and showing their son what strength , love and God can do for you. All of you need not be ashamed of anything. Be PROUD of yourselves, hold your head high and keep your faith. Faith and family can cure all! Can't wait to see you continue your journey to the NBA. Prayers to all of you. Thank you Sports Illustrated for doing this story.

    This is why premarital sex is prohibited in most religions. Careless mothers and fathers don't take the consequences of their actions into consideration, and it's their children who have to pay when they're abandoned. No child should have to endure the struggles of abandonment. This is the problem with America. When one loses their fundamental morals, they begin to think only of themselves and their personal gain. With the incline of Atheism, more and more naive, innocent children lose their only source of comfort and resources because their cruel parents could care less about their empty stomachs and hopeless minds.

    We take for granted what we have. Realizing the plights and strifes that people endure , helps us realize and discern that life is meritorious, regardless of what commodities you possess. The fact that we have a space to live, a car, if that fortunate, and a supporting household, you are indeed lucky and should be grateful for what you have. Some, if not most, of us can't fathom or fancy a life without he amenities we don't appreciate. We regard them as being obscure parts of our daily regimen, yet need to recognize that they may be something others may never have

    I sister is a social worker and she had a family that came to them from another state. They had a 14 year old son he was depressed about moving he just started high school and wanted to play football. I coached high school football so she reached out to me. She what I just typed is what she told me so I came to invite the kid to come with me to some of our practices I was just trying to make him feel better when I saw this kid he's a massive 14 year 6'3 185. Long story short he plays for my team now. He getting d1 looks the part that's ridiculous is the NCAA wants to make sure he didn't get any special treatment. Which is BS and this kind of things happen all the time you help a kid and a family struggling and they look at us like we have bad intentions. I didn't know this kid was going to be hell when my sister told me about him she didn't say anything about his size just that he loves football and he was having a hard time with the situation.
