Hey Shimmy, you are certainly a titan of the POD movement! So, could you please explain to us commoners that the traffic on those sites is actually people who sell their designs there and come to check their stores, only to see next to 0 sales every time. It is a big difference between visitors, unique visitors, and buyers. To be completely informative, you could get the data on how many t-shirts are actually sold on these platforms. Love and sells, man! :)

Thanks! I’m not sure how I would get the data on people’s individual sales on these platforms. Maybe Amazon and Etsy but all the others ones I don’t think that data is readily available
A very interesting and helpful video, with a lot of surprises! Thanks!
Dude those data are amazing, thanks 👍🏻, keep up

People could be spending a lot of time on the website not because they are captivated by the design, but because website is not easy to navigate and find exactly what you need. Or because of cross marketing they got distracted by other stuff (which is very likely), so time spend on the website not necessarily tells you how good the website for POD is. What you should look at - how many visits per store on average and visit to sale conversion ratio.
@MissMolly3377

Yes, those scenarios have happened to me, before. I, either, get distracted by something else, or It takes me a while to navigate the website. I agree we need the conversion rates.
@ulysse21

Yes, and knowing Amazon is the worst in term of distraction and ease of navigation, and is also too much loaded with information badly organized and not easily identified (probably on purpose) you tend to spend unvoluntarily much more time on an Amazon page.
You flipped the script with this video Mr. Morris! TikTok was an eye opener! In terms of not thinking of that platform as a marketplace… for me anyway 😊

Love the video, Shimm! This is exactly what I needed! I've started selling on international marketplaces to take advantage of the usd value, as converting it to my local currency has proven to be highly profitable. But, recently began selling on local platforms like tiktok, lazada and shopee earlier this year after my side hustle took a significant downturn and I wasn't making enough money. Surprisingly, I've found that selling on these local platforms has been more lucrative for me than selling on the international level.

@@shimmymorris1 3rd video about the amount of traffic sites get? This is something I have never seen mentioned in the beatmaking community with beat selling marketplace sites. You gave me the idea to do so some years ago in a video you did. I haven't, but neither has anyone else, and its something I don't think beatmakers keep in mind with sites and why they don't sell. Seeing you revisit the topic a few times with POD kinda of shows how sites momentum can change.

@shimmymorris1 By the way, I always report the impersonating scammers on KZread, there's one in this chain, but KZread isn't recognising your channel url when I put it in their report form. This is usually to do with your channel settings. Is there any way you could fix that? I detest these scammers, ripping people off.
Hey Shimmy! I wanted to start a POD store just for fun and created a shopify + printful integrated store. I got one sale but quickly realized that I didn't want to use printful anymore due to the fact that I have to pay for the product cost/fulfillment. I searched for other POD sites and saw Teespring, Redbubble, and Teepublic. I saw that a lot of those sites are on a downhill trend and profits are VERY hard to come by. Do you have any alternative suggestions for sites like those that don't charge you for production costs and stuff?
