I do alot of canning: meats, beans, fruit, applesauce , but here in the USA we are told that vegetables need to be pressure cooked to kill all botulism organisms. I like your processes and that you can bottle smaller amounts when possible instead of filling 7-24 quarts at a time to fill the canner. Botulism is odorless and hard to test for, until after the fact, when you're sick 😫 and it's too late.

Keep canning and stocking up. This world is crazy now. Stock up for your fur babies too. I pressure canned some food for my dogs. Ground turkey with homegrown pumpkin spinach and added green beans and brown rice. I cooked it first then pressure canned for 90 minutes in quart jars. I’m hoping to do more soon we have 5 dogs 😊

I wish I could upvote this more. I keep a stock of rabbit meat and fish that on hand that I can myself for my cats, dogs, and chickens, and if all else fails, they can eat other meals-in-jars that I've canned. Even without a pandemic or other emergency, it's sometimes hard to find pet food.

@@homesteadgamer1257 yes I figure they can eat whatever we do. The chickens I have quite a bit for them but I could have more. I keep a stock of kibble for them in 5 gal buckets too. But the homemade stuff is their favorite.

My microwave died last night as I was heating the dogs homemade food to add to their kibble. I opened a jar of the home canned food and they were freaking out over it. Same ingredients but I guess the pressure canning process made it yummier for them. I definitely will be canning more and making a video for that.

I love your channel. I love to can and garden and it’s so interesting to see how things are canned in other countries. Do the zucchini get mushy? I was always worried about canning zucchini or yellow squash because it might get mushy. I’m in California in the hot desert by the way 😊
