I saw this in the theater on my sister’s birthday three months after her suicide. I pray this song brings strength to those struggling with depression. You are not alone.

What hurts is that the very same people who sang also decided to ignore him and made him feel alone after the incident. Please, know that everyone makes mistakes. And he still sang the TRUTH.

Was an absolute wreck in the cinema when this came on. Curled into a ball in my seat and couldn't stop crying. My mate that saw it with me was patting me on the back, letting me know I wasn't alone. Amazing movie.

You are so lucky, I never saw it in theater, my dad, whom i see every 2 years wanted to watch "Free Guy". So i never got to see the movie I have been waiting for since its time on Broadway.

Whoever has faced suffering and pain ALONE can relate to the song, myself included. In our everyday interaction, we might be insensitive to other's silent cries, but it doesn't mean that we don't care!! Let's just slow down and pay attention. Someone might need your cheers!

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Some 6 months ago, I found myself in a similar place--fell into severe depression and loneliness--and almost ended my life. At the end of my wits, I reached out to the VA Suicide hotline and got help. It's a daily struggle--and so, yes any of us can bring a smile and relief to someone in need. Peace be with you brother!

This is the stuff I want schools to be showing my children: Dear Evan Hansen, Remember The Titans, Green Mile, Hidden Figures. These are what can inspire kids and truly make a difference.

As a father, we are expected to be strong, brave and even bullet proof. We carry so much on our shoulders when it comes to strength. Eventually, the weight becomes to much to carry. And eventually we break. Seeing this father break....is a feeling many of us fathers have felt before. And before the comments come in, yes, I know mother's go through the same thing. I can only speak as a dad, not a mom.

The dad crying gets me EVERYTIME

I have a kid at my school who considered me his only friend. I noticed he wasn’t doing well and told the teachers. The next day he gave me a pin that said “Thank you (insert name). The only one who cares”. A couple weeks later before a concert he told me “People would be happy if I fell off a cliff”. This is still going on but please. Who ever reads this. If you see someone in pain talk to them. Who cares if it’s akward do it. Help them get help. Please

Same! I was totally fine then this song came on and out of no where I started balling my eyes out. I cried so hard I couldn't breathe. I had never cried like that at least since I was a child. I go back to this video a lot and it always makes me cry, but it's a good cry.

My 11yr old son graduated from 5th grade today,and his class sung this song, and I was crying so hard. I got home came to youtube to find the video and started crying all over again.

Lost my little brother to suicide years ago. Couldn't decide if I should watch this movie or not. Bawled like a baby when this song came on. So powerful.

I watched both the play and movie (watched the play first) I honestly thought almost everything from the movie was just as good as the play. Yeah I get Ben looks a bit old for the movie but his performance completely outweighs that part. Everyone’s performance in the movie was impressive to me

That’s exactly how I felt during the whole film. I watched the film first though and I thought something was amiss and then I watched the play next and thought the play was better than the movie, still is was an awesome movie experience either way

3:58 seeing this scene on the big screen in the theater gave me chills the way they filmed all the videos coming together in a collage it was such an epic moment and really drove home the feeling of everyone coming together for the message

I don’t usually cry but this is one of the only things that makes me cry

I never had the opportunity to see this on Broadway ( part of me didn't want to because how much I'd be crying just from how well everything is executed ), but I've seen this number how it is played on Broadway and the part where Connor's dad breaks down was like a knife when I saw the stage performance. I'm glad they kept it in the movie.

Every time I sing or hear this song I completely break down. My friend committed suicide and I was in a very bad headspace for a long time after that. So I love this song for its beautiful meaning and my personal connection to it ❤❤

When I saw the musical live, the moment when the dad finally lets his grief show is when I just lost it and started bawling. That moment got me in the movie as well.

I lost my partner of 18 years a long time ago and this still comforted me and dampened my keyboard with heartfelt AND trapped tears. TKS

I've felt isolated and alone for years, and I guess I only just realized that I'm not supposed to feel that way, and I've been on the verge of breaking down for weeks, but I can't. I just wish I could feel a connection with someone, someone who wouldn't judge me for my flaws, someone who would be patient with me and my shortcomings. I've never felt a connection like that, and I wish that I could. I barely feel human, and I can't even understand my own emotions anymore. Everything feels alien to me.

I watched this movie with my friend when it was in theatres. I’m not a cryer, especially for movies. This movie, the message, the voices, the influence it had on everyone in the theatre, was the movie that brought me to genuine tears. I felt the pain the actors had to portray, and I think that is what makes a great movie. If you’ve never really paid attention to the hardships people are facing, start today. Just giving someone a compliment or smiling at them could help their last thread of hope get stronger. The scene where the father breaks down really shows that even the strongest cry. I strongly believe that this movie is one of the best movies produced in a while.

Feeling isolated and alone when surrounded by people that don't even acknowledge your existence, or worse yet, hate you simply for existing, is the worst feeling in the universe and scars you for life.

If I need a good soul-cleansing cry that provides hope and helps me mourn a little those whom we've lost, I watch this. It's brilliant, comforting, sad, and uplifting.

I don't ever cry. In fact I haven't alowed myself to cry in years, but whenever this comes on I literally ball my eyes out.

Every time I hear this song I start to cry because it is such a powerful song

Still think the movie was super underrated; it felt so special.

I watched this for the first time tonight, and this scene crushed me... Completely. It is so beautiful.

i don't know how many times have listen to this song over the last couple of days.. Every-time i am little more Hopeful and realized to show more gratitude to person that we Love in Our Lives.

This song gets me all the time I have had a little cry over this video more than one occasion 😢

The reason I love this song so much is because I connect with him. I know what it’s like to feel alone, to not have anyone by me, not feel special or meaningful.

As someone who has struggled with mental illness for years and was often suicidal, this song means a lot to me. So many people feel that they are alone when they're struggling. I did too. But when I got the right help I could see things more clearly and realized that I was not alone. No matter how bad things seem they can get better. I hope this song can help those who still feel suicidal.

I LOVED the musical. I'm a very harsh critic of stage to film transfers, but I think they did a wonderful job. I wish they would have filmed the OBC, but they didn't. It's not a perfect film, but so much better than what so many that never even saw it are saying.

I still havn't seen this in theaters or on Broadway. My late Mother and I had plans to go a month after she passed. She loved the music from this Musical.... It's emotional. Freaking love it!!!

I was already teary eyed during the song but when Larry came in crying i bursted into tears

This was definitely the best scene in the movie. It was one of the few that actually adapted well to film rather than stage.

I cried when my school sang this to a whole bunch of students and I even had to walk outside bc it was so emotional. I haven't seen the film yet but so far by watching music videos, it looks terriific!

I didn’t even though this was a movie. I heard it at the end of an audition on America’s Got Talent. Had to check out the tune. Knowing nothing. I cried.

heard this song from AGT or something performed by a contestant, without any context from this movie, still it move me. His voice has the soul of a good friend, it soothes my heart and took care of my worries. everyone should hear this when they are down.

Gabriel Brown did this on there. His act was impressions. Entirely possible that someone else did it as well, but that's the one I know about.

The only other film that made me cry was titanic. But when I saw this, I was destroyed by the end. I went through a crisis almost a year ago. I could barely eat or sleep. I was questioning everything.And when I tried this movie, it helped a lot. This song has truth to it, we’re not alone at all. Recommend for anyone who has been through hard times.

What I learned from listening to this is that no matter what clique people are in at schools, there’s always people who are struggling. This song proves that no one is ever alone. And if people are thinking about ending their life, there’s always help and You Will Be Found.

My heart races every time the dad breaks down. It’s so heartbreaking to watch him fall apart after holding it together for so long. 😩😭

I 💚 the message In this song. When you lose something or someone special it may look like you are forever on your own cause they aren’t there to comfort you but they are if you just believe that they are and this song also represents the fact that you are not forgotten when you are not in their lives anymore.💚
