Freewheel burning kicks ass . It was like “ Rapid Fire Jr.”, it’s just a simpler song. I wasn’t slagging it in any way. It was like Priest channeling the mighty Motörhead. That was one of my “getting ready for a day at work, or a night at the bar” songs. Another testament to how musically versatile they were. That same band did Last Rose of Summer . Unreal talent.

From this album "The Hellion/ Electric Eye" is an absolute must react. A metal masterpiece (The Live Vengence (82) video is 100% the one to hit!! ) They are a band where the live version eclipses the studio!! This album and Number of the Beast really cemented the term Heavy Metal in the States. I don't recall ever using it until then, after Metallica " Kill em All, it was widespread. This was the hit. The “Gateway” Priest song for many. As great as it was to hear this break through on the radio in 1982 Hellion/ Electric Eye and Riding on the Wind were much better songs and really inspired the next wave of metal to reach higher. . You've Got Another Thing Coming was in fact the hit song I heard a few times on the radio and my gateway to learning of this band; I loved it and had to hear more. Get Screaming For Vengeance, and now, years later, that is still my favorite Priest album, and Riding on the Wind is my favorite song from that album, so I also agree with you on that. From Stained class, killer ballad, Beyond the Realms of Death, epic 6 1/2 minutes, with like 2 or 3 lead breaks during the song, Saints in Hell (just so good and powerful), or the opening track Exciter (explosive drums in your face right out of the gate).

This reminds me of the roller skating rink. They'd only play it once a night. Soon as the opening cords played, the floor was full and everyone was skating like they just stole your stereo - hard and fast. Man it as amazing flying around the floor at top speed, disco ball on high blazing like a small sun, all the colored lights flashing like you were at a concert. Only thing missing were flames but if you looked real close - I'm sure there were flames coming off our wheels.

Anything from the British Steel album (Living After Midnight, Metal Gods, Grinder). They have so many great songs it’s hard to narrow down to just a few! Judas Priest is my go-to for workout music… it really gets you pumped.

I'll never forget this song, as a "juke" played it on a certain night back in '82. I awoke in a broke-down van outside Seroka's bar, stinking, hungover, comin' down after a 3-day high, hurtin', and mean. The "biker club" I belonged to, just buried its leader, after a drunken 16-year-old girl killed him in a traffic accident. I went back into the bar to see if a "cold-one" would help my disposition. Short story, a fellow member and sadistic sociopath named "Skeech," vying for leader, started riding me. Angry words and punches were thrown, as I saw him make a move for his "Python." I drew first and placed a hard view of eternity, with a Colt .45 automatic in his face. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw unfriendly hands reach for "iron and steel," interrupted by a blast through the window from Seroka's double-barrel "coach gun." My friend "Shades" was on the other end of it ...smiling and telling everyone to throw their hardware out of that window. I relieved Skeech of his .357, grab my mug of beer and smashed it across his face. As Skeech laid on the floor with blood flowing over what was left of his teeth, like water over a dam, Shades and I split, kicking over bikes and haulin' ass as far and as fast as we could, and hid in a cornfield that night. I REALLY like this song, ...lotta good memories.
