1982 !!! I saw Judas Priest on the tour for this album, and the opening band was...Iron Maiden !!! Clive Burr was still the drummer for Iron Maiden back then, so it was cool to be able to say I saw him before he left Maiden. Judas Priest was great, live. They opened with The Helion/Electric Eye, and for the encore Halford riding out on stage on his motorcycle. Good times :)

Fun fact: this song was written and added to the album (Screaming for Vengeance, 1982, one of their best) while finishing up the recording and mixing. They just decided to add one more song and came up with this one fairly quickly and ended up being one of their most successful tracks ever.

*JUDAS PRIEST* A Touch of Evil... The great thing about "You've Got Another Thing Coming" is it's timeless ability to capture the Angst of anyone who wants to achieve better. Anyone who feels held back for any reason. For ME although it's a little overplayed, when you hear that rhythm guitar it just picks you up. Makes you want to face the challenges of the day, then dust your hands off when it's done.

“Fever” and or “Devils’ Child” from the same album also showcases Rob Halford”s octave ranges from lowest to highest. Both have awesome guitar riffs and solos from KK Downing and Glenn Tipton. Edit: As you two explore more Judas Priest music what you may start to become aware of is that, KK Downing and Glenn Tipton often alternate between playing lead and rhythm. It was mentioned once in an article decades ago that they would through friendly banter, taunt each other to do a better solo than the other while recording in the studios. It really shows in their body of works.

One of the greatest bands of all time. One of their greatest songs. As great as they still are, they are still extremely underrated. I saw them in 1982 on Defenders of the Faith tour. They were fire then and incredibly sound just as good or better today. Their new album is insanely good, maybe one of their best. Rob's voice sounds incredible and he's in his early 70's.

Arguably, this song made it "ok" to play Metal on the radio (along with Accept and Quiet Riot).

For more of Halford's super falsetto vocals, do "Metal Meltdown" from the Painkiller album. "Nightcrawler" is also a fav of mine from that album, but not as many high screams. Also check Halford's band from the 90's, called Fight :song "Into the Pit". Same Painkiller-style vocals.

Hi Vin n Sori, I love Judas Priest!!! I was wondering How did you guys get into Namm ? I was just listening to the radio and Big Name Musicians said they don't go too Namm anymore because they let the public/just anyone into Namm, It used to be for professional Musicians and industry reps and professional musicians could go and shop for new equipment without getting hassled. Not slamming you guys, just wondered how you 2 got in?

What's telling about this song is the impact it and album had. They truly broke America when it was released. Screaming for Vengeance is an album you can listen to all the way through. Rob defined vocals on so many levels and let's not forget to mention the guitar dual of KK Downing and Glen Tipton. These guys are pros. I was so fortunate to see them in the '80s three times.

Thanks, one of my all time favorite JP songs! Whats really mind blowing is their 2018 release of "Fire Power" i believe their 18 or 19 release. It could in my opinion be their best pound for pound ever! Specially when u consider they Are in their late 60's and early 70's! Lead singer Halford was 67 When Fire Power was released!

This one was massive in the states. It is a classic but in my opinion the greatest Priest track has probably gotta be The Sentinel. Tbh most of the Defenders of The Faith album is amazing. Freewheel Burning, Jawbreaker, Rock Hard Ride Free...

Always happy to see more Priest. You’re spacing them out well as well. Doesn’t feel as overplayed as the Maiden reactions. This one is just a fun little tune. The people mentioning The Sentinel know what they’re talking about. That song rips.

Judas Priest and Iron Maiden are always and will be my favourite metal bands. I can't choose which is my number one. They're always my tops... I grew up listening to them as my father used to play it loud on our tape record in the 80's and 90's....
