I'm very excited you went with a shampoo bar workshop! I have followed your videos for a while and have seen some very specific shampoo bar recipes, but nothing flexible for those who are more experienced and want room to play, but don't know what does and doesn't jive in a shampoo bar formulation. This comes at a good time, I just made my second batch of shampoo bars and I still feel like I have a lot to learn. I'm planning to join if I'm able to, I'm sure it would be worth my time! ✨

Hi! You won't need any lye :) These aren't pourable formulations, but you do not need a press. Depending on how you structure your formulation (as you will be learning how to make your very own formulations!) you can hand shape them, use a mould of your choosing, or press them-it's very versatile ❤️

Hi marie, I have followed you and watched your KZread videos about making shampoo bars. I have a few questions about its recipe. In my country, they don’t sell SLSa and Optiphen Plus, so what ingredients can I replace with them? Should I replace SLSa with SLES or SCI, and how can I calculate the ratio to ensure the formula is as effective as yours? About Optiphen Plus, is it optional, and if not, what ingredients can I have instead? I look forward to your early replies! Thank you so much ❤

Hi Marie, im interested but wondering since im in Australia will you be able to direct me to wholesalers that sell in my country. There are a few amino acid based surfactants Im having trouble sourcing. I am happy with my bars and have a few years experience in making but would like to tweak surfactants for a more gentle bar for the extra sensitive. Im thinking this will benifit me even to learn about the myths that you debunk. Your testing could save me more $$ in materials than this course cost. Price is very fair I think 😊

Hi! I do know of several suppliers in Aus that sell the surfactants you need, but I can't guarantee you'll be able to get every surfactant you've got your eye on unless you want to buy some pretty serious quantities. Since I don't sell or manufacture purchasing gigantic quantities of ingredients isn't something I do :) Hope to see you in the live! ❤️

What a golden opportunity! Unfortunately, I can't afford it this round, but I would like to throw some questions out there in case someone who can has the same ones 🙂 Could use Lumorol K 5229 as a "refatting" agent of sorts to somewhat bypass suppression of foam in a bar with lots of emollients, and would I need MCT with it? Or will it suppress the foam of my other surfactants? Will it separate/weep out? (Not a bar question, but I kinda wanted to know if Lumorol behaved in an emulsion too) In the recent LUSH doup, the total amount of "conditioning chunks" was just shy of over 9% of the total bar; why such a low rate, and can I scale that up to 20%-30% of the overall bar without hurting the integrity (if that's the issue)? Could I use Crothix to hold together a bar the same way you've used carrageenan in some of your bars? Is the reason that the Lavender Facial Bars (SCI + BTMS-50) was so soft was because of the competing charges of the surfactant (and therefore, if I swapped for an anionic emulsifier like Ritamulse SCG I could make a harder bar)? Does GS/PEG-100S play well with anionic foaming surfactants? (Not necessarily a bar question, but it could be lol) I have hard water, do I need to include a chelating agent in my bars? I know I have a billion more, but I'll hold back lol

Well, if you see it that way, that there are a lot of good things already published, then why would you want to learn more and new things yourself? I can also add that there are hundreds of fantastic COMPLETE recipes in Spanish and Portuguese, but that doesn't mean that I or others like me, can't or shouldn't aspire to want to learn more or have the right to want to acquire new knowledge. I'm sorry to say, but with all due respect I consider your response to my lament to be in poor taste. My grandmother said that "knowledge" does not occupy space. Unfortunately you won’t make a living making soaps unless you can invest a lot of upfront costs into it. I own a brick and mortar soap store. It’s hard work and was a big investment and I wouldn’t say I am making a living even though my store is successful and popular. I still have a day job and my partner runs the store during the day. This is a hobby turned small business venture at best for most people. Very few people can earn a substantial living at it and it doesn’t come without a lot of costs. Marie GIVES away so much information and formulations as it is, so paying for an in-depth workshop is worth it. It’s really unfair when people come on her FREE KZread and whine about the costs. I don’t know why people want to make her feel bad about it because they can’t afford her.
