Playing the match at 8 pm at night when supporters spent the whole day drinking. This match should have been played at noon, which might have saved some of this heartache.

However, the media tries their best to brush this under the carpet, because those doing the vast proportion of the stabbing, aren’t the white English supporters who behaved so awfully on Sunday. Knife violence is the biggest issue regarding crime in London, and Khan has yet to do anything about it.

It’s all about headlines, hits, likes and shares for the media which Jim either doesn’t see or refuses to. Think about this, if England had won, would the headline have been about the break in or about England winning the Euros? Where would the thugs have been then, probably around 8-10 pages into the paper with a small column. would anyone have cared, nope, and if they do are they in a position to do anything about it, nope. @Carl Smith I agree. For days leading up to the semi-final and final, TalkSPORT was full of nationalistic nonsense. They played ‘Its Coming Home’ about a thousand times a day. They helped to create the nationalist passion that bubbled over on Sunday, and now they’re acting as if they are morally outraged by the thing they helped create. Listening to those idiots Darren Gough and Adrian Durham yesterday was awful.

I agree with Simon, but regrettably the policing and stadium security was under prepared because many of the people who invaded the stadium saw it as an action of a lifetime, they gambled that they might never ever experience an event like that again and if England had won....in their minds it would have been worth it! I am still upset because it was an opportunity!

Media hysteria? You do realise most of Europe wanted an Italian win because a large cohort of England's fans are so poorly motivated. Booing national anthems, smashing bottles and cans all over the place, shining lasers in players eyes.Sure bad behavior happens everywhere but to a far greater extent in England. You really need to go to an neutral away European game between two other countrys and see the difference. It's night and day. Agree it's not all english fans but unless there is a coordinated effective response by all football authorities this will not change why cant there be affective security once troublemakers are identified they should be thrown out the stadium there and then even if that means the game is delayed they should be handed a fine with a notice to attend a hearing at court if these measures are not taken this minority of fans will always be a pain can you imagine having to pay and then sit on the steps on the stands because some yobs have taken your seat can you imagine the fear on children faces seeing the anti social behaviour it is a disgrace

You cant judge a whole nation on a minute amount of people. When United played Roma around 10 years ago United fans were attacked, a few were hospitalised, these fans wernt hooligans they were there to enjoy a match. A few years later Roma were given the CL final. These hooligans only do things because theres no blame put on them, we blame a whole country not them. Take Russia during the 2016 Euros, Russian ultras attacked English families, not rival thugs but innocent fans, did Russia lose the 2018 World Cup. No because rightfully the actions of a few idiots shouldnt be a baring on the rest of the country who's fans want to enjoy football.

Simon, I admire your attempts to bring context to the discussion but it's waisted on Jim. He's a journalist and therefore wilfully ignores context. It's his job.

Also, football is a working class sport. This is not polo or horseracing or some elite sport.

Wonder what Gary Neville would say about this? He was shaking hands with the intruders and criminals at Old Trafford in May.

Thousands of people is a minority when the majority is 60 thousand at the stadium, or the millions watching from home or pubs. It is a minority, and it was sickening to watch, but they do not represent the majority of English football fans.

Depends on the draw , why do certain ppl feel we somehow were given an easy draw? Are ppl that thick? England very easily could have gone out in the second round to one of the group of death teams , in fact every one here seemed to be saying that England would lose! Yet they didn’t , so many muppets just waiting for an opportunity to attack anything English. Actually by your rampant anti English agenda you’re the one being racist.

TalkSport literally had to disable comments on some of its videos covering the vile racism and the positive response in condemning those responsible. If you can’t even talk about it without a racist pile-on it’s obviously not just a small minority. It’s endemic. Not playing any big games like this in England going forward will certainly help.

They haven’t even talked about the Italian fans getting beat up when coming out of the stadium. If am fifa no way am granting them the chance to host it.

Simn is right and makes great points. But I have to say its just as much a problem to look blindly to the hooligans. Just as its problematic to always highlight them, its as bad to completely ignore them. And Jim White is right as well, "i will be balanced but we will report it!"

Shouldn’t hold the players parents in higher regard than other paying fans

Once again like many times before Simon Jordan makes sense. I watched the events happen on social media a bit after the game and didnt give it much thought....I was actually thinking if I had been younger and seen a gap to get in I would have went for it. The media in the UK should be ashamed of reporting this in the way they did. I dont think this should have any effect on future World Cup or Euro bids. I think it's long overdue for England to host a World Cup. I'm not for countries sharing, it should be all in one country.

Simon Jordan is the type of man who'd rather say " there is no racism in England " because he doesn't want to put our society down, that's what I took from this. Think about how pathetic that is

Loads of people throwing stones in glass houses ere .. I look at the FV problems in Holland .. Italy .. Germany .. Poland .. Russia .. far far more serious than a few pissed up lads out for a jolly ?? People have been cooked up for nearly 2 years and we have the biggest final here since 1966 ?? What did people expect ?? I was their and the majority of people behaved well .. always a small minority who come out looking for trouble .. gangs of local youths who aren’t even football fans turned up for bother I seen that numerous of times that’s gone unreported .. absolutely disgusting the media are turning on our own people ?? Some of the things that go on at the football all over Europe regularly make this look like a stroll in the park .. England fans are the best in the world bar none home and away .. the tartan army ?? Good old Scotland fans their for a laugh ?? Living in a dream world .. most of them left Wembley and London in a mess smashed things and were fighting in the streets ?? But because it’s the tartan army it’s ok ?? Double standards

Where were the police or security? Surely an event this big should have a few police stationed at all entrances with additional private security, it's almost like it was let to happen

I don’t know when FIFA announce the host, but I’m gonna do devils advocate and say that maybe this needed to happen if England bid team are serious about hosting the World Cup. Knowing that there is a minority of “fans” that can cause such chaos and embarrassment, the bid team will need to address this otherwise it will most certainly happen again in 2030 if it’s held in England.
