Many of us think that we'd survive the apocalypse, regardless of what form it takes. Sure, *others* will get got, but not *me* , surely not! That is what goes through our heads. It doesn't matter if it's a zombie virus, a regular virus, societal collapse from civil war, a nuclear throwdown, ect. We always think we have our shit together enough that we'll pull through. But will you? Will you have the skill, levelheadedness and pure *luck* to make it where millions, maybe even billions couldn't make the cut? Are you prepared for that day? Are you prepared to do what must be done to survive? I want you to ask yourself this very question, to look in the mirror and think HARD about it. Because I care. I want to see you survive if Shit Hits the Fan. So ask yourself, and be honest; can you survive? If the answer is no, that's okay. Most of us will have that answer. And that's why I want you to train. Learn everything you can about survival, train how to use tools, study the basic things we in our modern age have forgotten and taken for granted. Learn to use a weapon, to defend youself, learn how to hunt, learn how to grow food, learn how to find clean water, learn how to make technology with only the scraps left behind. And above all, get in shape; work out, eat healthy, don't do dumb shit like drugs or whatever, use common sense. In the end, become a better person, and become prepared for the end. Train and prepare until you can ask yourself that question again; Will I survive? Train and prepare until you can say without a doubt, *Yes, I can.*

I think the most terrifying part about zombies is the gargling and grunting they do in movies might not be how they sound. they're not breathing, so there's no choking, no coughing or moaning. they'll be completely quiet outside of their footsteps or knocking something over. it's just a quiet corpse able to hide in plain site...

(Most of the songs in sequential order (in my opinion)) 37:40 The very beginning of the end. The military is starting to fall back, and with it any sense of peace and security. People are panicking, looting is common, and the zombies are everywhere, devouring anyone they can get their hands on. 9:43 It’s been a few days, the chaos has died down. You head outside to find some supplies, avoiding zombies when you can. Many of the stores have been looted, but some goods still remain, guarded by the countless zombies. 20:18 You decide to leave the city, there’s nothing left for you here. Hoards of zombies stand in your way. You pass by houses, stores, military checkpoints long since overrun. You manage to find a working car with, as luck would have it, a full tank of gas. You manage to find the keys on the driver’s seat and speed off, out of the city. 5:06 It’s been a few weeks since you fled the city. You found an abandoned ranch house and fortified it. The previous owner seemed to be a keen gardener, as there’s a whole lot of seeds and gardening supplies. This does not mean that you are completely safe, however. Zombies are still common, although not everywhere like in the city. You can relax, but not let your guard down fully yet, as you still need to prepare for the long term. 10:47 This was inevitable of course. You’ve headed into the nearby town for some supplies. Wrecked cars litter the streets, homes and businesses in ruins, and zombies moaning in the distance. You’re reminded of the city, and the horrors you endured. Those thoughts are quickly cast aside, you need to get some supplies, or you won’t survive the winter. 34:14 Its been a few years since the apocalypse started, and you’ve gotten pretty comfortable in that ranch house of yours. You’ve gotten used to the occasional zombie, knowing how to deal with them and having a pretty good understanding of how they work. There was just one thing you forgot: humans. They were armed with guns, there were many of them, and they came suddenly in the night. You managed to take out a few of them before they retreated. Not because you’re now a badass survivalist, but because they heard the approaching hoard in the distance. The one that’s now coming for you. You grab anything you can and load up your car, leaving your base behind for good. 23:51 You’ve been driving for a few days now, siphoning gas from old cars (you’re surprised by how many cars still have gas in them). You come across a town, and are shocked to see that the electricity is still running, military vehicles in good condition litter the streets, and fresh zombies wander the streets. This town used to be a safe zone, likely operated by the military. You decide to turn around and take a detour around the town, not wanting to go witness whatever horrors await. 14:09 You’ve gotten used to life as a nomad of sorts, feeling a bit too traumatized from the ranch house. You stick mainly to country roads, siphoning gas and taking parts from whatever cars you can find, looting whatever supplies you can find from old houses or abandoned encampments. There is, however, one massive drawback of this lifestyle: constant loneliness. It’s been forever since you’ve seen another human being. And on top of that, zombies are fewer and farther between, with it being at lease a week since you’ve seen one. Nevertheless, you carry on your journey to survival, to see another day. 0:03 You enter a city for the first time in years. You see broken buildings engulfed in vines, old cars rusted out, grass and other vegetation beginning to poke out from beneath the streets. Skyscrapers, once a proud symbol of prosperity and achievement, now crumbling to nature. You wander from building to building, searching for any supplies or sign of habitation. You wander all until the sun begins to set, casting the ruined city in hauntingly beautiful shades of red-orange. As you begin to drive out of the city, you make a disturbing realization: you never encountered any zombies. 39:23 You’ve lost count of how much time has passed. It’s been years since you’ve seen either a zombie or a human. Most of your food supply is long gone. You’ve resorted to eating various types of grasses and what ever animals you can hunt. You still have your car, which you’ve carefully maintained but you know that eventually even that might fail you. You barely remember what your parents or friends looked like, you barely even remember your name. The years of isolation have taken its toll on you. Hell, you even wish to encounter a zombie, just to know that you are not alone in this world. 15:36 Years? Decades, even? Time was lost on you, you’ve been wandering the wastes of society searching for some kind of life, only to find none. You’ve explored countless towns and cities, finding nothing but ruins all around. Your aging body beginning to fail, you’re beginning to accept that you might never find another person ever again. You walk amongst the ruins, searching for an unobtainable goal, trying to attach meaning to having survived the apocalypse that started all those years ago. One evening, as you wonder through the desolate wasteland, you see something in the distance. It looks like… light? Could it be? You cautiously move closer and see what you’ve wanted to see for so long: signs of life. A city, no doubt. A large city surrounded by thick, concrete walls. Skyscrapers illuminated the sky, instilling hope of a better future where society can rebuild and thrive. You rush towards the city, stopping only when a voice over a loudspeaker tells you to stop. The gate opens, and out walks a squad of soldiers who carefully search you for any weapons. They confiscate your backpack, but you don’t care. A man steps forward and holds out his hand for a handshake, welcoming you back to civilization. You survived the initial outbreak of the zombie apocalypse. You witnessed the fall of society first hand. You killed god knows how many zombies, and even they eventually died off. You survived all that time, being alone, desperate for human contact. Emotions overwhelm you as you hug the man, sobbing. He hugs you back, comforting you as if you were his brother. When you finally let go, you’re escorted into the city gates. Finally, after all that time, all that pain, all the suffering. You’re home.

If it comes to a zombie apoclaypse remember: Don't use weapons that are loud, or weapons that splatter gore in your own direction. A crossbow for longrange and a spear for short is ideal. A crossbow i quiet and has very easily renewable ammunition. Just need wood. A spear can kill off zombies without letting them get too close to you, while ensuring you don't get covered in infected core.

I disagree about not using firearms, so long as you’re not in an urban area using firearms would be fine and would actually make your area safer if you can lure the few zombies in your rural area to you so you can take care of them then and there, in the cities however using a gun obviously would be suicide unless it’s during the very start when everyone is in panic looting mode, or after both all the zombies and humans have died out due to natural causes. A spear would only be a good weapon if you can find a fenced area otherwise missing a jab can be a death sentence, since the only dangerous part of a spear is the tip, I recommend using a 1 handed axe or hatchet or any blunt weapon, generally blunt weapons will avoid the most blood splatter, in which case you’ll need PPE, safety glasses and perhaps a respirator in case it’s airborne, and a paint suit at minimum to keep blood off of you, as I don’t think hazmats will be readily available.

@@infamousgamer767 all I’m saying is there are definitely better weapons out there, there is a reason we fight wars with guns now instead of spears, and it’s also why armies began to use swords and axes instead of spears, spears were alright but only in certain scenarios, while I agree a spear may be useful in long range and open areas, indoor environments a spear will get you killed, same for if your enemy can quickly close the distance and suddenly it’s on top of you, it’s also the same reason you want a shorter barrel length if in a confined space, if you can’t get the dangerous end of the stick to the enemy then it really is just a stick. A smaller more compact weapon would be a better choice specifically for this reason, you’re going to be indoors and unless it’s a shopping mall that spear will be smacking up against all the walls and objects and it will get you killed.

most people don't fear the zombies themselves, they fear what they represent. the shambling corpses of people that once had regular lives are a symbol for the fear of death. that fear is ever present, it could happen at any point in time within the blink of an eye. you could fall asleep and not wake up, be in a crowd of people and suddenly feel cold and lifeless, you could go into an alley and all of a sudden everything is dark. the zombies represent the fear of death, and how that fear will consume you and make you feel hopeless and scared, because fearing death is fearing life. all living things die, immortality will never be achievable, everything has an end. the walking corpses eating those that are left? its symbolic of how death overwhelms you and consumes your mind. many pity the dead because they're gone, but really we should pity the living. the living have to live in fear of the end, they fear that death is around every corner, they fear that they could die at any moment because they can. zombies are a physical embodiment of that fear, you feel afraid of zombies because of what they represent, not what they actually are. many parts of zombie culture don't shed light on this idea, its mostly just "humans good, zombies bad", but i think that the serious shows and games and whatnot should really think hard on this. because in my opinion, the zombies are the lucky ones, not the people. the zombies have already died, they feel no fear of death because they are death, the people are always afraid that they will die sooner than they would like, they suffer and do horrible things because they are desperate to live. the zombies feel nothing, no emotion, no pain, no fear. all they want is to devour and assimilate others into their armies, in doing so they make those that were once alive have no emotion, pain, or fear. the living are always afraid, while the dead are never afraid.

You wake up in the morning, start your day with a cup of coffee, cream and sugar or black, it doesn't really matter anyway. You get dressed, turn on the tv to watch the morning news and catch the forecast, light showers with heat in the high 70s. Grabbing your keys and getting in your car you turn the key in the ignition and after a moment of stalling, it starts. You drive over to the local Mcdonald's to grab a few hashbrowns and maybe an egg McMuffin to fill yourself up before work, you didn't have time to eat at home after all. You drive off to work eating while making sure none of the passing drivers do anything stupid, but then you get caught in a traffic jam. "Damn it! A jam now of all times?!", you say as if there was someone else in the car to talk to, then you hear the screams. People shrieking in terror, like they'd just seen a ghost, no, a *ghoul.* Everyone steps out of their car to see what the big deal is, and then gunshots, something bad is about to happen. Police open fire on what appears to be a sick person, cloudy eyes as if he were dead, grunts and growls almost like he was rabid, but no foam at the mouth or fast violent movements. The sick man shuffles slowly towards the officers not even flinching at any of the bullets that penetrate his flesh, only moving closer until a stray bullet flies through his skull, causing him to collapse completely lifeless. One civilian casualty, a woman ripped to shreds by the man and wait a minute, are those teeth marks? Not even 5 seconds pass and she gets up, organs spilling out as she struggles to stand, then she attacks one of the cops, causing him to pull the trigger and accidentally nail his fellow man in the chest killing him instantly. Panic ensues and you feel as though you should run, but you can't. You're legs are frozen, glued to the pavement as you watch the officer being devoured by the dead woman that is somehow alive, then the officer that was shot gets up and shambles towards you. You finally are able to run, getting back in your car you try to drive out but to many cars are piled behind you, you have to leave so you reach into the glovebox and pull out the snub-nosed revolver that you keep in the event of danger, 5 rounds of .38 special in the gun. Taking anything you may need to bring home, you run back to the entrance of the highway that you take every morning to get to work. The city is in chaos, people shooting the dead and other people, fires started by anarchists just waiting for this moment, Police failing to keep it all under control as the dead keep rising and eating the living. "This must be a nightmare, dead people walking?! That's insane! I must be asleep!", this is no nightmare. You are as awake as the sun in the middle of the day, once you arrive home you are relieved to find out that it hasn't been ransacked. Grabbing the hiking bag you bought but never had time to use, you fill it with food, water, medical supplies, and the almost-full box of ammo you kept in the floor safe under your bed. You think about how it spreads, you notice that most victims have bite marks so you wear clothing that is hard to sink teeth into like leather or denim. You turn on the tv and the news anchor informs the public that a new disease is spreading, turning the dead into monsters that want only to feast on the living. You follow instructions, boarding up your windows and doors but keeping a safe escape route on the roof in case it isn't enough. You fasten a blunt weapon from some metal pipes you had in the garage, as you've noticed that loud noise seems to draw them meaning a gun would be too dangerous to use on a regular basis. Turning off the tv, you prepare to defend your house from anyone or anything that happens to take notice of it. Sirens in the distance, far away gunshots, hell even a chainsaw revving. Faint growls, snarls, moans, groans, and other horrific sounds outside give you chills down your spine. You decide to call it a night despite it only being 5:27 in the afternoon, maybe you should just sleep and dream about what you'll do in the morning. Waking up the next day, you realize most of the noise has stopped, 'cept for the dead ones of course. You burst into quiet tears as you lie in bed wishing this was all just a bad dream, but you never wake up from it. This is reality now, in the following weeks you just accept that. This is the new world, this is the Zombie Apocalypse.

0:00 - Where is everyone going? Zombie? This joke will end quickly. 5:14 - Evacuation? Okay, this is getting uncomfortable... 9:42 - None of my loved ones answer calls. There was almost no food and water left. Will this end? I hope so... 10:46 - The military group has not returned for several days. Our shelter was surrounded by a crowd of walkers. Everyone is panicking and planning an escape plan... 12:42 - Evening came. I broke away from my previous group and am now alone. I have to survive... It's getting more dangerous... 14:14 - It is snowing. When will this devilry end? The city is in ruins, a lot of time has passed since the beginning of the apocalypse. I haven't seen people for so long... I'm leaving the city... 15:25 - *You silently climb onto the roof of a huge building and look around the city. The glass is broken. There are clouds in the sky. The wind blows. You no longer count how long this demonic thing is going on and you don’t hope for salvation. You are alone, alone among this entire city, perhaps... Thoughts about simple city life flash through your head. About who you were before all this crap and who you are now...* 20:18 - It is a trap. I'm surrounded by a horde of walkers, and there's darkness all around. I have to get out of here. Who did it?.. 22:24 - I think I found someone's abandoned house. People have been here recently. I need to catch up with them before it's too late. I'm not alone. 23:50 - The still warm corpse was torn to pieces beyond recognition. I didn't have time for a couple of minutes... 26:26 - I can't stand it... There is only rot all around. Can i commit suicide?... I should stand... but I can't... I don’t want my end... But the apocalypse doesn’t end. It covered the entire planet... I'm starting to rave 30:08 - *Cold wind, empty head* 34:15 - What the hell?! Some biker gang is following me! Damn bastards, they hurt me, but I killed a few. They are gradually falling behind... AMBUSH! 37:40 - Shit, I'm being shot! They are everywhere! I will not Give Up! 39:23 - Where I am? This is the end? Are there blood on my hands? The jacket too... It seems I'm dying... Such a long journey and all in vain... Wait, is there someone coming there or is it just me?..

a few months ago, i had a dream. it was a dream about an apocalypse. an apocalypse of arthropods. arthropods include crustaceans, arachnids, myriapods, and insects. it was an apocalypse of bugs. and it was terrifying. mosquitoes big enough to suck all the blood out of you with a single bite, a black widow that could pierce your body with its pincers alone, a crab that could burrow a hole into the sand big enough to fit a car. the world didn't belong to humans anymore. now, i'm in the process of writing a book about it. it was a brilliant dream, one filled with captivating plot and emotion. it's too complicated to explain all of it here, but long story short, the main characters almost just gave up on trying to live because they saw no hope in trying to reclaim the world. keyword almost, because then they found a clue, hinting at a safe haven somewhere across the world. this is the perfect ambient playlist to develop this story to. thank you.

I think that's why I love the opening of the dawn of the Dead the 1978 version (or 1979?). Most zombie outbreaks in films are loud, sudden, and before you know it the entire city is overrun. This one took place over weeks. Some companies tried to stay open, the military tried to intervene, news stations tried to remain on the air with incomplete information, and slowly everyone began to break down. People abandoned their posts, self deleted, fled to just about anywhere while others stayed behind to try to keep society together before eventually everything fell. There's a scene where two cops are exhausted as they just did a raid on a house that had zombies in it among people trying to keep their deceased loved ones safe and they just quietly sat there and said "I could run....I could run tonight." There's a scene as a helicopter is leaving where a bunch of lights slowly flick off in a skyscraper...it's such a slow descent but it really makes it that much more real and long lasting, you know? So yeah we will probably have to go to work or people will think its a government hoax or something. I just won't leave my cat behind. I'm not going anywhere without him

The very first tune from the playlist instantly pulled me out of my comfort zone, I’m not kidding, I got goosebumps. Imagine, for example, a post-apocalypse, where you stand like as one of the survivors and look at everything that has happened and is happening. You look and realize that there is no turning back, your heart aches for the old funny or not days. And perhaps you will look at this with the thoughts “what have we idiots done,” either because people themselves allowed the catastrophe to happen in the past, or because we could not help this world avoid all this horror. We failed to become the best version of ourselves, and now somewhere a tiny piece of land in this universe, the Earth, is covered in dust BR goodbye I'm going for my tea

We were playing with perma death and I got bitten so we continued as my infection meter trickled up throughout the days past. Eventually it lead to where I am, sitting on the verge of 90% I laid my shotgun that's seen better days, my cowboy hat that's been through alot. It was cold today. The leaves were finally starting to turn colors, a sign that used to bring joy to the young woman. But now, in this day and age, it meant winter was coming. And winter always meant Death. She roamed the streets of a once bustling tourist town, looking at the charred remnants of looted, burned buildings, desperate for any scrap of food or civilization that might be left from her old home. She, like many others, had gathered on the mountain after the outbreak, a place where the zombies could not reach or easily survive. However, the harsh winters of the mountain proved difficult on many people, and many lost their lives just climbing to and from the settlement. She, however, was skilled. She knew her plants and herbs, she knew what animals were around, and she knew how to stay quiet. So she was valuable. And with Value came fear. And with Fear, came dread.

Freedom? Lol. That last sentence shows the ignorance of most people who long for this. How do you not have freedom already? Typing these messages out on a phone, getting to use the internet. Being able to work and make money to buy as much food as you could want. Do you know how to grow food? Scratch that. Do you know how to even find fresh, clean water? Do you know how to make weapons? Do you know how to build a sturdy enough shelter that won’t leak during rain storms and will keep you warm in the winter? Survival is Hell. What we have these days is true Freedom, and it is absolutely wasted on you if you cannot see that. A zombie apocalypse will be miserable, terrifying, cold, dark, delirious, and evil. You will not have fun. You will not survive long. Do you really think you’re going to be the 5-10% of humanity that makes it passed the first year?

Dysentery is freedom to you? Eating garbage because it’s all you can find for days on end and dying in a zombie apocalypse from shitting yourself is freedom? Never knowing if you’ll be able to sleep more than 20 minutes again in your life because zombies are always right there behind you? You won’t be able to play video games, or listen to music like this anymore. That shit literally won’t exist. Where you gonna get power to charge your phone? Seriously think about these things.

My eyes suddenly jolted awake from the dream I had. I wasn't surrounded by sunlight pouring out from each corner, and I wasn't surrounded by life and the smells of nature. Instead I found myself bleeding from the side of my head on a bare ground. I coughed and looked up to see where I was at. It was hard to tell since there was a gray fog covering the skies. But in the land I could see no trace of life. What was supposed to be trees and grass was all dead now. The trees were bare with old, decaying bark and the grass was spiky and had a brown color. As I stood up I noticed I was on the side next to a road. On the road I saw cars, and for a moment I felt overjoyed and happy to see something of life and that maybe I could get help! But as I ran over to the cars I noticed the cars had rust on them, with no drivers. In some of them I even noticed blood stains on the seats or along the sides of the cars. *What happened here?* I thought to myself. *And how long have I been knocked out?* But I knew they couldn't be answered. But there was one thing I knew that I didn't need answers for. Whatever had happened here, any trace of a living being is dead and Im the only one left... Let me know if I should continue this, if you do like my comment since I can't receive notifications when someone comments to me :) I really love this playlist by the way! I saved it to my other playlist lol

diary log entries: it's been many months since the outbreak broke humanity during the early stages, I've experienced every horror during the early stages. first the flu and desperate attempts to contain the spread. it failed like the past outbreaks, yet this was different. I've discovered an old underground basement with an iron door, whoever thought of it knew this would happen yet not knowing when. so I've set out to find equipment and bring it back, managed to create two rooms with the help of building guides from the libraries, will store them into the computer. surprisingly the Internet is still up and running. started working on a program to creating an a.i in order to prevent my sanity level from depletion, I'll name it "minerva" the roman goddess of knowledge. almost a fitting name. will report back, gotta go on a supply run. this is last sapian signing out.

i'm thinkin' of writing a wasteland zombie apocalypse type of AU for a favourite game series of mine (the Barry Steakfries series specifically,, y'know the dude from games like Age Of Zombies and Jetpack Joyride) and i think this playlist is really fitting tonally. like i can totally imagine Barry trying to survive a complete wasteland after the incident in the story, always on edge and hyper-prepared for another attack with this playlist as the BGM. trying to adapt to losing a limb with minimal medical supplies, being overly protective of any human he comes across, it's super fitting!!

What is the massive appeal that the apocalypse has for those who are so drawn to it? I like some movies like the first Resident Evil, and a few other genre pieces, but I never became a lover of this setting. So I need to learn what it gives to fans that's so rewarding. Thanks.

@@eduardo_corrochio I guess it's because with the apocalypse comes chaos and deorganisation. The world isn't the same anymore and while it may be dangerous to travel and hard to survive, there's also some kind of freeing feeling. No one is bound by rules anymore except perhaps the little moral and pity they have left, so many things could happen. No more responsabilities, no more pressure for achievement or earning your life correctly, no more worries about what was once normal. I guess it's still really dangerous depending on the type of apocalypse but I think that as long as the danger isn't in front of us we don't really realise it. Idk about others but that's personally why I love this genre so much ! Hope it helps

@@eduardo_corrochio love reading books like this, idk maybe its that feeling that the main character survives everything and being resorceful, the tense feeling that everyday is a gift and every move they make outside can be fatal, the connection between characters even love during this world ending scenario, that some people still manages to stick together in times like this, and also the painful betrayals humans can do in order to survive and to be safe, in my case this is why im in love with this genre

@@christine46616 You sure have given me some food for thought. Thanks for sharing that. As for me, apoc fiction/film/TV has only just been escapism. I guess I didn't delve into all the feelings it can evoke in viewers/readers. A big part of the whole thing has got to be triumph of the spirit and also the massive determination to overcome the bad things and simply survive-- or better yet, endure and possibly thrive. Another thing is, when we take a break from the TV show or movie or game or novel, we can look around and think, "My world isn't nearly as bad as that world was", LOL. Well, _almost_ not as bad. ;-)

Imagine you're walking in a city with two loaded shotguns because their are the only weapons you found, and there are dead streets, where people used to wall, where mall used to play your favorite music. Around the street, there are many police barricades that's full of blood and dust. They used to work brave and give others peaceful feelings. The "Plan 8888" wasn't working. Evacuations were interrupted by infected corpses and on old TVs still playing the emergency call. You miss the times when you didn't have problems in hearing because of many explosives during apocalypse. Those living corpses have holes in their body, and the nervous system isn't working, but they somehow took over your town, or, maybe even country, you don't know, News Channel aren't working anymore. All the stores are empty, lights are down, cars aren't working, and you're using your legs to not let them hear you. You're walking near houses where your friends lived and know that they're infected or killed themselves because of worrying, so there are many signs about religion, world, and life. One time, it will end..

the Lucerne hammer (look it up) is the ideal weapon for a zombie apocalypse. It has a pointed tip for stabbing like a spear, a blunt end for smashing objects and possibly armor or skulls, a curved tip pointing out (similar to a scythe) for grabbing objects or swinging. it can block melee attacks as weapons can be blocked by the areas in between the assortment of weapons on the end of it. it is relatively lightweight can be found at your local museum armory. happy surviving wastelanders!

The best thing to do in a zombie apocalypse situation is to not run or flee with the masses of panicking people but bunker down and secure your house/apartment put blinds/curtains over your windows so light cannot be seen from the outside always have a ton of candles especially emergency ones that last a long time have a decent supply of food/water fill any container that can hold water and store it where it won't become contaminated with dust/bacteria fill your bath tub up with water for extra drinking water and cover it with a sheet and or tarp have a few firearms with plenty of ammunition or if you don't like guns maybe a bow/crossbow or have both just in case that would probably be the smarter option
